Nesquik44

Greek yogurt, string cheese, berries, bananas, hard candy

Nicolo_Ultra

String cheese ❤️ I’m a cheesatarian and honestly there’s nothing better. Fat, protein, quick. Thank God they’re like 100cal most the time bc I can eat 2 or 3 in a row.

petewentz-from-mcr

Light string cheese has only 50! ❤️

Far_Blueberry383

My fave is crystal farms string cheese. I get it at Walmart and put the stick (in the wrapper) in the microwave for a few seconds and it makes it so much better! And bonus it’s only 70 cals per stick!

pinkybrain41

Only thing about bananas is you gotta toss them outside of your area. I would eat a banana, put it in my plastic ziploc bag and toss in the cafeteria trash can, not my cubicle trash can. I don’t like the smell of banana peel in my trash at the end of the day.

Nesquik44

You can always take a walk during a break to toss the banana peel which also helps increase your step count if it’s something you track.

pinkybrain41

100%! I tended to bring a ziploc back with a napkin and a mandarin inside. I would eat my mandarin and banana. And then put the peels in the ziploc until I had time to do a walk to the cafeteria trash. Walking breaks helped me maintain my sanity when working onsite

17aaa

I don’t use ziplocs bc I like reusable containers, and sometimes I will peel the banana before my day starts so I can see how many grams it is (the difference between an 82g and a 110g banana is hard to eyeball!) and this has the added benefit of being able to compost the peel at home rather than find somewhere for it out and about, and also eating it very unobtrusively in the locker room as my post gym snack.

metsgenome

Blueberries are good as a snacking option

PrinsesAurea

But please no very ripe bananas as they have a heavy smell.

LazySunflowers

Put the yogurt and the berries together and voila parfait 😇

Jondar_649

I know you said not smelly but mandarin oranges smell heavenly and I welcome people eating them in my vicinity

GretalRabbit

For some reason my superpower is being able to smell an orange being opened from 50 metres away. It’s a nice smell so I don’t mind, it’s just odd!

GetHautnah

Some people have a natural aversion to the smell. It took me years to actually peel them myself, because the smell is very intrusive and uncomfortable to me. I know others who have the same thing. Its weird because I love eating them. But the smell lingers and can ruin my day!

beebeelion

There was a woman that used to work in my office who had an allergy to oranges and she had to leave when someone peeled one inside.

NewPalpitation1830

I can’t stand the smell of oranges. Clementines and grapefruit are totally fine. Orange juice - fine. Oranges? Get the fuck outta here with that 😂 and I like the taste too!

sincalir

I don’t like the smell of oranges…

ssaturnian

Get a mandolin and slice your veggies into ultra thin chips!

ShiplessOcean

Huh, thanks for introducing me to a new word. I thought you were talking about the musical instrument until I googled it. I was thinking, that’s hardly quiet!

No-Personality169

Use the guard when you buy one. Mandolin injuries are extremely common in the ER. No need to shave part of your hand off.

Natural_String_967

Can confirm. Sliced a good chunk of my thumb off

SmokeMoreWorryLess

I wasn’t using that part of my finger anyway

BobKattersHat

We call that the "thumb fucker" in my kitchen. When I bought the cafe, my first week of being the boss I took off half my thumb nail and had to play it so cool in front of the staff so they weren't scared that I had never been in a kitchen before.

Kokojijo

This is a good warning. Mandolins are treacherous bitches.

chipotlepepper

I definitely rec using the hand tool that most come with and/or a cut-resistant glove when using one!

ssaturnian

I feel you. My bar has veryyyy dull peelers. with every old fashioned, goes another bit of my thumb

Jondar_649

Tajin sprinkled on cucumber slices 💋👌🏼

graciousgirl27

Or watermelon, mango, or pineapple w tajin 🔥

chronicallyill_dr

Carrots and jicama too. They can also be spiralized

Lostgurlx

Grapes, cherries, berries, jell-o, granola bars, over night oats, yogurt

InSkyLimitEra

Non-crunchy protein bars like Quest.

Vivid-Individual5968

Grapes, sliced almonds, cubed cheese

TheDivine_MissN

Grape and cheese is an underrated snack.

mmeeplechase

String cheese is so quiet, plus it’s packable and lots of protein!

WithAKay6

Bananas, Greek yogurt, oranges, berries.

novascotia3898

Cold, cooked baby carrots! Cook them the day before and refrigerate, they’re quiet since they’re cooked and have a nice sweetness

sncly

Lol just by the title thought you were trying to sneak a snack without alerting the doggos

Aingealag

Nobody mentioned sandwiches (no tuna, no onion)? Just be sensible with the fillings.

Comfortable_Bus_4355

Edamame!

8927626887328837724

Yogurt, peanut butter (kind of taboo on this sub I know), banana, precut apple, smoothies, pita and hummus, dried fruit (I like the Kirkland blueberries), string cheese. I find bringing things in Tupperware instead of plastic helps minimize sound too.

jamisonian123

Grapes

Puzzleheaded-Pay-710

Fairlife protein shake

Farrell-6

Jicama or zucchini with dip or sprinkle with a seasoning.

shipping_addict

Another way to eat jicama is just with some salt and lime juice. That’s how I grew up eating it if OP wants to mix it up a bit. Salt and lime also goes great on watermelon, mango, and apple but you gotta eat the apple quick or it’ll get soggy.

Robotro17

Jicama is definitely crunchy sounding.

WanderingLost33

Vinegar and water soaked cucumbers. They're basically zero calories and the closest to salt and vinegar chips you can get for under 100 calories a bucket.

pinkybrain41

The vinegar is going to reek

cosmiczombi

protein bars, turkey/cheese wrap, overnight oats, oatmeal, corn in a cup, steamed veggies, soups, applesauce pouches

WimpyMustang

Almonds, granola, string cheese, figs, cherries, etc. What an interesting place to work.

chloejadetay

Lite Jelly!!! I make so much of it and it's like almost no calories. I add low cal yoghurt and its soooo gooood.

chloejadetay

Low calorie soup, stewed apples and yoghurt, roasted seaweed

L3Br0nJ4m35

Sugar free jello/pudding

ddouchecanoe

This post is so relatable lol

Cian635

Greek yogurt, beef jerky, ready to drink protein, string cheese, or chewy protein/energy bars.

AccomplishedFly1420

Yogurt

Necessary-Sentence48

Respectfully, yogurt is smelly. My coworker has yogurt twice a day and I smell it before I can see or hear it. She’s two cubicles away. I don’t love yogurt (but we are buddies!) and ofc even if we weren’t, I still would never dream of saying anything… but I definitely have to choose to tolerate it every time 😅

irecalllatenovember

I’m baffled by this comment and wondering if she has a strange yogurt, or if perhaps you are particularly sensitive… or am I super *not* sensitive to yogurt? I’m so curious now

Necessary-Sentence48

It’s standard greek yogurt. I definitely have a sensitive nose but I recall one specific time our boss asking “who’s eating yogurt?” She didn’t have a follow up comment or judgment that she voiced. I’m not the type that wants to make work a worse place for anyone so I don’t hold it against her or ever even comment on it. But it’s noticeable to me so I figure I’d put my two cents in. I guess the downvotes mean I’m in a minority so I’m okay with that too. It’s funny - I saw a comment about mandarin oranges smelling lovely and I agree but I chuckled thinking about my one singular friend who absolutely hates the smell of orange peels.

irecalllatenovember

Interesting. I guess I’ll think before I Greek from now on! Haha, I also saw that comment and was thinking about how I *really* don’t like the smell of oranges either! It’s a sensory punch in the face to me. But I think that’s a me thing.

AnotherElle

I smell yogurts from a ways away, too. Lol, today I actually had some skyr (I know it’s not exactly the same) and rinsed the cup out because the initial smell made me gag and I didn’t want it lingering in the trash. I was also thinking that the banana recs are a bit strong smelling, too. Especially if they throw away the peel in a nearby trash.

canichangeitlateror

I am allergic to mandarins so I dislike the strong odor 😔

MintChipPie

I smell yogurt too. It’s strong and the smell makes my stomach ache same with bananas but I just stay quiet as well.

AccomplishedFly1420

Yogurt is smelly??? I’m a super smeller and I don’t think yogurt is smelly

Garden_Guru75

It smells strong. But I love it.

bludgeonbigmouth

It literally smells like a yeast infection to me. I still eat it and don't care if people around me eat it but yeah there are times where it's a bit overwhelming ngl

pinkybrain41

Soft fruit, pastries, you could try chicken nuggets - I wouldn’t heat them up to avoid generating a smell, I’d bring small condiment containers of ketchup and ranch to dip. A light Pasta salad Protein shakes Oatmeal, have with a scoop of protein powder if you need more calories/protein

frescafrescacool

Sugar free jello and/or pudding?? Toast (low cal) with butter (the fake, low cal one 😅) Toast, cream cheese and everything but the bagel seasoning

Aggravating-Scene548

That fake low cal butter isn't good for you tho

Garden_Guru75

Greek yogurt has a strong smell … keep seeing this mentioned, but it is stinky.

CatKnitHat

Are cheese crackers loud? 🤔

knight1096

I’m out. I need smelly snacks.

msplow

Chewy stuff. Gummy bears. Mochi. Fruit snacks.

A_Glass_DarklyXX

Protein veggie smoothies?

stanielcolorado

I had a coworker who would eat carrots in a very quiet office setting. Apparently, I gave her enough looks that she mentioned years later - that it was clear that I did not like her "loud food" as she called it! Quite funny!

mindiz24

I like baked apples! I bake 5-6 apples cut up with 1 packet truvia and lots of cinnamon and a can of diet soda for 90 mins with tin foil on, 20-30 off at 350 degrees (you can add raisins or nuts) and then you can like eat it alone or on top of yogurt or cottage cheese as a snack for the week!

Fuzzy_Welcome8348

r/LowCalFoodFinds

haybails720

Yogurt cups!

Reasonable-Effect901

Break the seal. Bring your favorite celery/carrot snacks and turn to your neighbor and say “here, have some, I love these 😁!” Don’t ask “do you want some of these carrots?” just give them

LilacWine45

Deli turkey with mustard.

nlesspursuit

Cookies-n-Vibes

So not popcorn?

alico127

Little pots of peaches in fruit juice.
