I’ve gotten an earful before about how women are more biologically adept at lying and manipulating and they use it to steal kids from their dad, lie about sexual assault and wage gaps, and secretly control society behind the scenes so they don’t have to work.

The divorced dad special

Dinflame

As a divorced dad, I will say that some judges and lawyers still have vestiges of that bias - that women are more "suited" to raising children than men. But why did that mentality exist in the first place? Because our patriarchal society devised separate roles for men and women, and defined home life as belonging to women's sphere. So how are you going to get mad at women for (allegedly) just being in the box you put them in?? Which raises an excellent pro-feminist point: patriarchy is bad for men and women, but it's worse for women. Because whereas men are lauded for fulfilling their perceived roles in society, women are demonized for transgressing but also even if they follow those societal roles. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. It's a fucked system and we need to burn it down.

BrisketGaming

This is always brought up from men's perspective -- how the courts are unfair -- and its true. The system is fucked up. But people don't understand that it's actually *really fucked up* for women in abusive relationships. [Some highlights from an article I have saved](https://www.forbes.com/sites/naomicahn/2020/01/26/why-women-lose-custody/?sh=f93b0144641e) >When fathers alleged mothers were alienating, regardless of abuse claims, they took custody away from her 44% of the time. When the genders were reversed, and fathers started out with the children, mothers took custody from fathers only 28% of the time. Fathers were overall much more likely to win than mothers by claiming alienation. >Meier found that, when mothers claimed any type of abuse, if fathers responded by claiming parental alienation, then the mothers were twice as likely to lose custody as when fathers did not claim alienation. In the study’s stark conclusion: “alienation trumps abuse.” >Even when the father’s abuse was considered by the court to have been proven, the mothers who were alleging the abuse still lost custody in 13 % of the cases. By contrast, fathers lost custody only 4% of the time when a mother’s abuse was considered proved. >Most stunningly of all, in only one out of the 51 cases in which a mother reported child sexual abuse while the father cross-claimed alienation did the court credit the mother’s claim of sexual abuse. I can hunt down some other "fun" statistics, but all it shows is that abusers win when it comes to court.

Has that man looked at 95-97% of all rich men?

Staluti

The bene gesserit cope

Cheesey_Whiskers

Did you hear it from an Ancient Greek playwright?

IdioticZacc

It's like I am aware of some of these issues, but that doesn't make the issue other people go through irrelevant

House_Of_Doubt

It’s all true, Andrew Taint said so. And he traffics women, so he’s around them a lot, basically an expert in wamans.

Kobruh456

“I love dark humour” mfs when the joke isn’t about how a minority is bad

missevans_

:D

Lubiebigos

God I have a friend like this in uni, while most of the time he is quite funny, when the jokes start oscillating around this particular brand of "middleschool dark humor" it just gets so annoying to pretend that I'm laughing. This type of calling women "dishwashers" and immigrants terrorists type of "dark humor" is just so uncreative and unfunny. I do like edgy and dark humor but only when it is somehow original and clever.

urail_croisee

Tbh I dislike all of those

missevans_

thats the joke liberal

WeaponizedArchitect

I really dont like it because I know from firsthand experience it indirectly radicalizes people. The fact that enough people do say it unironically that right wing grifters can use it as "EVIDENCE OF (whatever)", leads people to believing its more prevalent than it truly is. Even if that wasn't happening, the people who *actually believe in essentialism* are 1-step away from TERF logic

Apprehensive_Row8407

>oh my god its just a meme Is that how you respond to valid criticism?

nurse_uwu

It's not valid criticism, the meme is pointing out a double standard It's not that deep 💀

Kingboy22

I feel like “colored men” has nothing to do with it. Men bad jokes hurt all men no matter the race or if they’re trans or not. Also, wtf are you talking about with leftist spaces being sensitive? Conservatives are sensitive as all hell bro, they can’t even handle people that look different from them. You give off weird vibes bro

Apprehensive_Row8407

It actually is that deep, and it is valid criticism

nurse_uwu

That's okay, but I disagree :)

Apprehensive_Row8407

Of course you do

nurse_uwu

xdd? Idk what you want from me, move on

WeaponizedArchitect

ok alr sorry ive been having confidence issues

Aggressive_Sprinkles

> thats the joke Well, there's a better way to bring that across. Her being the only person without a giant dent in her head would usually imply that her opinion is reasonable.

L33t_Cyborg

Yeah it’s super fucking weird

Volotor

Or in the case of film/tv/game discourse, the "men bad" is perceived because women, minorities or LGBT people are involved.

meta-rdt

Bottom left woman is very often transphobic.

missevans_

this meme isnt glorifying her.

meta-rdt

It does have every other person portrayed as someone with a large dent in their head instead of a brain, with her portrayed as a normal looking woman. This implies that she’s intelligent and everyone else in the image is stupid.

un-taken-username

Yeah, that's definitely a stretch.

vielljaguovza

There's not a logical point that can be made out of "men bad" either tbh. Trying to justify it by saying >they didnt mean spesific people, but the concept of "men" Is the same exact thing that gets used to justify all the other bigotries in this meme. It's logically erroneous to utilize this line of reasoning. If we have to accept that people are allowed to hate someone for **insert innate unchangeable quality** because that hate is based off of a stereotypical concept of that group and not individuals, we must then apply that line of reasoning to all cases. Which in turn leads to it being okay to say things like "women bad" "immigrants bad" gay people bad" because it is explainable as a hatred based off of a concept of those groups, not individuals. This is why radical feminism isn't a progressive movement and why man hating doesn't have any "plausibility"👍

StropsAE

Kinda weird how you immediately go to justify that position instead of either admitting a careless oversight or pointing out how that position is not being held in a higher position than the others. Idk, but from here it kinda looks like you agree with that

King-Boss-Bob

the minorities bad could be talking about the minority of the ultra rich, or would that be a dumb as fuck assumption because that’s clearly not what was meant? also surely if they meant the concept of men (i assume you mean in regards to gender roles) wouldn’t that also apply to the woman one? which would also be a dumb assumption

FUS_RO_DAH_FUCK_YOU

Which, as we all know, is the only thing wrong with essentialism

LachieBruhLol

No one inherently bad

TheWayADrillWorks

Except me though

pantshitter16

only indirectly. your inherent villainy is unquantifiable and your demonstrated evil is not inherent 👍

BrisketGaming

Can't be, you're calling everyone cute, and that makes you a force for good.

TheWayADrillWorks

Thanks. I had spent most of yesterday afternoon having a depressive episode over stuff like the OP. My messed up brain started thinking maybe the marginalized people of the world are somehow worse off for me existing, in some unquantifiable way.

BrisketGaming

The world is unfair in many ways. Way too many ways. But it's not your fault. I promise. You just be you, listen to your heart, and do your best.

TheWayADrillWorks

Thanks Brisket :P

BrisketGaming

I'll always take the opportunity to be sappy :D

thyme_cardamom

No, you just choose to be evil. It's not inherent. That's what makes your villainy so insidious: you could be better if you wanted to. Keep slaying.

Do not use the dented head wojak, it is a tool of the enemy

zippycat9

what if its a wojack that has a bump on its head like a cartoon character after getting hit with an anvil?

Smashme9

then his head should be anvil shaped

pantshitter16

"gay bad" "minorities bad" "women bad" "men bad" >:\[ "gay \[comedic generalization\]" "minorities \[comedic generalization\]" "women \[comedic generalization\]" "men \[comedic generalization\]" :\]

PSI_duck

Ehh, are there really a lot of people like this? I hear about people who can’t take a real joke about men, but I don’t see a lot of them

Eclipse9997

humans bad

House_Of_Doubt

Objective truth. One human, alone, in isolation, is fine. But get a group of them together…

Eclipse9997

And they are bad. Which is the state of humanity at the moment.

FilipIzSwordsman

In my personal opinion, jokes targeting certain groups of people are okay as long as you make it obvious you don't mean them. I like those kinds of jokes, ESPECIALLY when they target me. Why can't we just move past this discrimination bullshit?

smegmamale_

People with glass houses shouldn't be throwing stones frfr

Content-Reward7998

everyone bad (yes including me)

RouxAroo

There's a reason why my bio says "your resident misandrist apparently". I can say I don't feel comfortable being alone around men and get some guys thinking I'm the wicked feminists from their nightmares, which like I am but the other kind.

[deleted]

If that guy also laughs at "men bad" its fine

Dont_Get_Jokes-jpeg

There is a difference saying something as joke and saying something in rage. I don't want to generalize too much. But as seen in your own comic, most "men bad" aren't dumb jokes where the funny thing is that they are dumb and everyone knows about it (like woman and kitchen) but actual "I hate all man" posts. If someone would bring a man slander joke like "men being so horny, when they are drunk they fuck goats" I will find it the same levels of funny
