also OH MY GOD BELARUSIAN LANGUAGE TEXTBOOK :3 OMG OP I LOVE THAT
In my opinion the penultimate medieval fantasy adventuring warrior’s armor. Just enough medieval to still be plausible, just enough fantasy to not be recognizably medieval. And it fits the setting and the wearer’s profession too well.
The visor helmet is protective yet practical. The satchels and dagger are must-haves, yet often forgotten. The asymmetrical pauldron design which makes sense due to the fact that your left shoulder will be in front most of the time if you’re swordfighting with your right hand; speaking of which, the right hand is not protected by metal, which might compromise safety but in turn makes more delicate actions like loading a crossbow or rummaging through a satchel easier. Adequate elbow protection. Anything that isn’t covered by plate is covered by chain or thick linen. The coat signifies the connection to Astora, and makes a person recognizable; certainly useful when skirmishing in full gear. The scarf around the neck.
The most unrealistic part is likely the leg armor, as that body part is one you don’t want/need to slap full of iron as it hinders maneuverability, which is the precise reason why legs don’t get hit in combat all that much anyway. Then again, the boots are not covered, likely to not hinder in something like climbing. Additionally, there doesn’t seem to be a chest plate, which is odd since a good chest plate rarely hinders motion much and the chest is basically the second-most important body part to protect… alas, chain allows more free movement than plate.
God I love this armor so much.
I've always thought Roman Legionaries looked slick as hell.

The hoplite kit for sure. In the most basic form it's just a spear and big round shield. Any extra added gear just makes it better.
Yeah! I don't remember exactly but it was layered linen armor. People also had to purchase their own armor so making it out of linen was more affordable than metal chest plates.
It's a lot of fun, especially once you start to learn the combat. One recommendation that helped me is to rebind your block/parry key to a mouse button if you have any extra ones on yours, as using a key is kinda inconvenient

For context during the Sikh Empire, founded in 1797 adopted Napoleon's military structure and their uniforms can be seen in the below comment, less cool and didn't stop the British from still invading us and the Empire destroyed previous Sikh democratic institutions but whatever.
I love me some extravagancy, I'll take it over actual utility any day
Catch me in the frontlines wearing nothing but a dyed leather crop top, knee-high boots, a platemail skirt, and the most inconveniently massive steel shoulder guards anyone's ever seen (not relevant to the image above in any way)

There's too many good ones to pick. 14-15th century Golden Horde Tatar armour, like the drawing by Gorelik in your post is among my favourites. The same era for Turco-Persian armour is also really good. Later 15th century Aq-Qoyunlu and Ottoman armour goes pretty hard too.

i always loved the Desolator armor from Red Alert 2
The elite knight set from dark souls 1-3 is fucking PEAK. Simple but the design is still soooo good. In ds1, the instant I found it, I just used it all the time. In the ds2 and ds3, not so much but it’s probably still in my top 4 most used sets. I even made and used something similar in elden ring because of how much I love it.

Is that Balyk-Sook style lamellar plating on the chest in picture 3? I'm actually working on something simillar with plates of a simillar style found in birka (which might be viking but also might be from turkic mercenaries in the region).
My personal favourite armors are the 15th century german githic style armors. Very normie pick, I know, but they are so very beautiful.

I'd say indigenous cultures in general are underrated. There is so much interesting history and culture that barely anyone seems to know about.

No that armour is primarily based on early-mid 14th century examples, it's quite far from the 11th century.

Peak

Is that ... linen? Good idea, very breathable.
Yeah! I don't remember exactly but it was layered linen armor. People also had to purchase their own armor so making it out of linen was more affordable than metal chest plates.

I like how in the Renaissance they wore a separate peice of armor just for their cock x3
Cod pieces lol
You ever played kcd? It heavily features a lot of Cuman arms and armor and I think that's cool
Just picked it up on sale for that actually, really fun even though I’m getting destroyed every fight
Pro tip, go for the limbs, the enemies cripple just as fast as you do but react slower so you can sneak a few hits around their guard
It's a lot of fun, especially once you start to learn the combat. One recommendation that helped me is to rebind your block/parry key to a mouse button if you have any extra ones on yours, as using a key is kinda inconvenient
Make sure you do the optional trainings with captain Bernard if you haven’t already, learning ripostes is a game changer

Easily the X-01 E-PA, especially with a midnight dawn finish on it. Gotta leave out the extra hazard seals, they do nothing and make it slightly sluggish to your movements. https://preview.redd.it/vqjzlx76n9xc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd82ab43f96a8d8b61ecb37bcc1bc80418a1757c
I'm Punjabi so I'm partial to early modern Punjabi armour, like that of right before the Sikh Empire in the 1700s https://preview.redd.it/h2c96e20o9xc1.jpeg?width=684&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=42fd1e114ae09b206dab8c1dbdd72bf1284f7ab0 For context during the Sikh Empire, founded in 1797 adopted Napoleon's military structure and their uniforms can be seen in the below comment, less cool and didn't stop the British from still invading us and the Empire destroyed previous Sikh democratic institutions but whatever.
I love me some extravagancy, I'll take it over actual utility any day Catch me in the frontlines wearing nothing but a dyed leather crop top, knee-high boots, a platemail skirt, and the most inconveniently massive steel shoulder guards anyone's ever seen (not relevant to the image above in any way)

There's too many good ones to pick. 14-15th century Golden Horde Tatar armour, like the drawing by Gorelik in your post is among my favourites. The same era for Turco-Persian armour is also really good. Later 15th century Aq-Qoyunlu and Ottoman armour goes pretty hard too. https://preview.redd.it/68ybysf34axc1.jpeg?width=1252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c0a4b0954206b367b483ed277e301d939a145d1c This is how a late 15th century Aq-Qoyunlu cavalryman could've looked like. But lots of chinese armour looks good, lots of european armour looks good. It's very hard to pick favourites.

The elite knight set from dark souls 1-3 is fucking PEAK. Simple but the design is still soooo good. In ds1, the instant I found it, I just used it all the time. In the ds2 and ds3, not so much but it’s probably still in my top 4 most used sets. I even made and used something similar in elden ring because of how much I love it. https://preview.redd.it/x6gh3k0y5axc1.png?width=480&format=png&auto=webp&s=e9d37322b56d377ae3d37d5c5ef0e0d1ecae13e3
For a moment, I thought this was the bannerlord reddit.

Big fan of mail and gambeson. It’s not the most protective or the most flashy but it gets the job done.
Gambeson looks like it would be comfy as fuck honestly
