Try the SponsorBlock browser extension for YouTube. Having the sponsor skipped automatically, and not even knowing what product it was for really did a big difference for me compared to manually skipping it.
I believe it's reported by the users, but I'm very surprised at how rarely I've opened a just published video and not have the sponsor segment already properly cut out.
There's usually a popup on the normal YT site where it says an ad will show up later in the video. I presume the YTers themselves put in when an ad will show, and the extension sees that and skips past it.
user downloads extension, finds video with unmarked sponsor section, submits sponsor section to sponsorblock. sponsorblock then pulls from the database when future users visit the video
Like others said, it’s based off user submitted data. It even tracks your stats if you submit a time stamp for a sponsorship. Ive only done like 1 or 2 but have racked up like 10 hours of saved time for other users
I particularly like SomeMoreNews' ad reads where it's obvious they pick sponsors based on how lenient they are with letting them literally tell you the product is useless slop. You pick up on phrases like "according to our sponsor" and "supposedly" a lot.
I still skip them most of the time.
Internet Shaquille begins all of his ad reads with "\[company\] has paid to be mentioned at the end of this video", and apparently a lot of sponsors don't like that at all. He generally has super high integrity about his ads which I respect a lot.
I heard that if you skip the ads, Wormbo will come to wherever you are when you least expect it and take everything that makes you human, and you’ll never know what happened or what’s missing because you won’t be able to express any emotions ever again
"Now here's the part of the video where I drink the product! (Extremely forced smile) (long chug) (AoouGH.) YUP! Good stuff (smile)
Head on down to Athletic Greens and try AG1 today! Your butthole will like it."
TomSka and Jay Foreman are the best advertisers on the planet because they're the only advertisers worth watching the ads of.
Especially when TomSka throws shade at his own sponsor lmao.
I'm gonna be honest, I don't have time to watch a 1 hour video so I kinda skimmed through it and CJ makes a lot of good points, I guess Noodle isn't great. But I really enjoyed his video about Spongebob and the band Ween from last month so idk. I guess sometimes people just kinda suck a bit?
ETA: Also I'm just not invested enough in video game drama or youtube drama to really... give a shit? Idk, I've got important things to do in life and sometimes I'll watch a fun lil video essay during dinner.
Tbh I just wanted to insult him coz I don't like him lmao. But like anyways Noodle basically defended gaming industry standards that broken games are fine how they are released because if games were of better quality then that would be too much work or whatever. For his video essay he had trouble finding sources to back his claims up so he manipulated an audio clip of someone with authority on this subject to sound like they're backing him up, when it's the exact opposite. Like there was no way in hell the clip he used to back himself up was not meant to be straight up lying to his audience. Plus his past behaviour of following exclusively "the money" is pretty shitty too. Like he doesn't have a love for the arts, he just wants money. He's a grifter. The relation to this post is that, how could someone who sucks corpo dick make an ad that is not just shit.
yardigan in the wild holy shit. yeah the yards ad reads are fine because it’s just like another segment of the pod but they have to also read some sponsor lines on top of it. sometimes it’s fun to see how deranged they can get without the sponsor cutting them
I'll be in an intense fire fight in a multiplayer game and the moment I hear a sponsorship i'm still alt-tabbing to skip it.
Honestly the quirky ones are more annoying to me than the regular ones. It's just a sudden tonal shift in the video that feels running into a brick wall at full speed. When it's just a normal ad read there's a smaller chance I notice it to begin with. It's probably more effective subliminal advertisement than any of the high effort quirky ad skits.
Millionaires watching their entire establishment burn to the ground after I skip to the most replayed section of a video (9/10 times it'll always be after the adread)
The one sponser I watched was from IDidAThing because all he did was try and fail to destroy the shit they sent him. Made me interested in the product, to say the least.
The ONLY one I do not skip is Badger's, because they're usually too short and he keeps it snappy with his usual blend of humour fitted in really well, so it doesn't bother me.
The best ad read I have ever seen had a time code to skip to the end but it wasn't actually the end and I was so stuck I watched the entire thing out of respect
I'm the opposite, if I like the creator I try to sit through the whole ad read because I'm worried fast-forwarding through will flag something with the analytics and the creator gets less money.
While I agree with you I will watch a handful of my favorite youtubers ads because two of them go all out and make it actually entertaining. I don't mind a paid sponsorship and prefer it a lot to the ads youtube forces me to watch. At least I know sponsorship money actually goes to the tuber.

wait how does it even work ?
I believe it's reported by the users, but I'm very surprised at how rarely I've opened a just published video and not have the sponsor segment already properly cut out.
I've seen a video with 900 views have a highlight submitted. I might be able to find it idk.
People work fast. I, myself, submit a lot of segments since for some reason I keep getting videos early
There's usually a popup on the normal YT site where it says an ad will show up later in the video. I presume the YTers themselves put in when an ad will show, and the extension sees that and skips past it.
You can also submit sponsors in the UI of the video so they get skipped for future users

it's a fucking life saver yeah
Sponsorblock my beloved

They also put the red border around it which makes it super easy to see when the ad read is over
I heard that if you skip the ads, Wormbo will come to wherever you are when you least expect it and take everything that makes you human, and you’ll never know what happened or what’s missing because you won’t be able to express any emotions ever again
Is that how he reproduces
No one really knows
I'm sure it involves creamed corn
With my corn comment the other day I think my reproduction might also involve corn.
Why would he reproduce? We already have him and don't need more
I love when Cody has to drink the repulsive green liquid. He always looks like he's about to throw up.
Ag1 is the most repulsive Shit based on his chugging alone
"Now here's the part of the video where I drink the product! (Extremely forced smile) (long chug) (AoouGH.) YUP! Good stuff (smile) Head on down to Athletic Greens and try AG1 today! Your butthole will like it."
“And now a word f-“ *90s >>*
“Ah shit it was a minute long ad read” *30s <<* SURPRISE, IT WAS A MINUTE AND TWENTY SECONDS!
The only ad reads I’ll watch are Noodle’s and maybe TomSka’s, because both usually put quite some effort into them.
TomSka just has amazing ad skits
I'll add ordinary sausage to that
TomSka and Jay Foreman are the best advertisers on the planet because they're the only advertisers worth watching the ads of. Especially when TomSka throws shade at his own sponsor lmao.
Also the fake mobile game ad he made in the plagarism vid
and jay foreman
Isn't Noodle some [corpo bitch](https://youtu.be/FafzxKtZ26E)? How does he even make his ads entertaining.

What does that term even mean here? I don't feel like watching a 1.2 hour video just to figure it out 😭

A good ad is still an ad
I watch Internet Comment Etiquette for the ads
Advertisements are annoying
Several segments skipped 👍👎 Unskip (Enter) [4s]
the only sponsored section of anything that I don't skip through is The yard
yardigan in the wild holy shit. yeah the yards ad reads are fine because it’s just like another segment of the pod but they have to also read some sponsor lines on top of it. sometimes it’s fun to see how deranged they can get without the sponsor cutting them
Hannibal lector talking abt 2 girls one cup is a golden tier bit for an ad read
Ad read aimen is a different specimen and he must be observed and documented
Some More News, NakeyJakey, and Internet Comment Etiquette put in a lot of effort which I *do* appreciate (for 10 seconds before I skip it)
JAKE, JAKE, AND JAKEY, -AT LAW-
I still watch Caddicarus sponsored segments (Spons is my second favourite son)
I also watch through caddy’s sponsored segment (spons has a gun pointed at my family)
Brutalmoose with his unhinged Hello Fresh ads my beloved

DJ peach cobbler’s ads are legitimately funny though
what about internet comment ettiquete
WOT
i love noodle ads because it is an unrelated skit he did for like 20 seconds, the ad read i then skip, and then another funny fake ad
'lets jump right into \[the topic of the video\]' 'but first'
I don't care how wacky the ad is Woolie, I'm not letting you shave my balls.

IceCreamSandwich
HELLO, IM SPONS
Map men
I'm the opposite, if I like the creator I try to sit through the whole ad read because I'm worried fast-forwarding through will flag something with the analytics and the creator gets less money.
Off topic, What’s this meme/cartoon from?
Dan Vs
damn that was super quick thanks lol
"Haha, it is I-" right arrow key right arrow key right arrow key right arrow key right arrow key
I will always watch Internet comment ettiquite's ads they're great
Only exception to this is occasionally Some More News.
im usually always this way but [jeffiot's newest video](https://youtu.be/lQYFN2o6DWY) changed that
While I agree with you I will watch a handful of my favorite youtubers ads because two of them go all out and make it actually entertaining. I don't mind a paid sponsorship and prefer it a lot to the ads youtube forces me to watch. At least I know sponsorship money actually goes to the tuber.
