Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights

MaximusMeridiusX

That’s a technical foul

ALargeCrateOfShovels

Adam Sandler's Ultimate Custom Night

Cielnova

Is this movie getting popular again or am I just going nuts? I only heard of it a few weeks ago when a shitpost of that bum biddy biddy song and ever since I've been getting Oney Plays videos related to it in my recommended, people have been mentioning it on Reddit, I've seen a parody of the poster with every single fandom I'm in, I feel like I'm going nuts. Why am i seeing it everywhere

Yompish

Haven’t watched the majority on your list, however: angles egg (requires an acquired taste), Akira, Watership down, 9, grave of the fireflies, coraline, paprika, perfect blue, across the spider-verse, all of the rebuild evangelion films (keep in mind they’re not as good as original series + film, but they’re still good)

BoomBasher

Thanks. Out of your list I’ve only seen Coraline and Grave of the Fireflies, both of which I could’ve included

Yompish

I’d prioritise across the spider-verse tbh

Spinnicus

If you like Grave if the Fireflies you might like Barefoot Gen.

Fine-Afternoon-36

I've watched Angel's Egg and yeah. Unique movie

Pedro-Hereu

Just saved this. If I ever become an avid movie watcher, I'll take your advice

Yompish

Lmao glad to be of service, please do note that angles egg is a very odd film though so maybe leave that till you have a better view of what kinda films you like. I don’t want you to watch angles egg first and then decide not to continue

memebig8

I recommend A Silent Voice and The Cat Returns

BoomBasher

I’ve seen the Cat Returns it’s a good one

unforseenidiot

Silent voice almost had me in tears ngl

mikereeee

a silent voice is based

gayorangejuice

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind & My Neighbor Totoro other Ghibli movies, and some of my favorites

BoomBasher

I’ve actually binged all the Ghiblis, most of them are good movies. I think Nausicaa has a very unique vibe and Totoro got a lot better on rewatch

gayorangejuice

very good opinions

Delicious_Purple_642

Oh. Then what about reading Nausicäa Of The Valley Of The Wind? The manga gives a totally different story, and is worth to read it. It goes into directions the film never did, and mentions such important things as war, gene modifying, bioweapons...

FrisianDude

Näüsïcaäaä

stupidrobots

Treasure Planet Iron Giant Paprika

BoomBasher

I’ve seen Iron Giant twice and it could’ve made the list. I’ve heard good things about Treasure Planet but I didn’t really like Atlantis and its apparently similar

Duck274

Atlantis doesn't have space pirates

Rabunum

Fantastic Mr Fox

svanvalk

Well see, the problem is that you have half of my favorite movies on that list lol. I fuckin' love Persepolis. Check out The Triplets of Belleville, it might be up your alley. EDIT: Oh, also, Tokyo Godfathers. And I also really love Up. Man, I wish I wasn't at work right now so I could browse my collection of movies to share with you. Not many people around me share my taste in movies lol. The Secret of Kells

idobrowsemuch

Tokyo godfathers on some goat shit. Also it's technically a christmas movie, so perfect time to watch it coming up

awesomea04

> WALL-E You don't need to watch anymore movies. You've already seen peak fiction (unironically my favorite movie of all time.) If you do want something else, I recommend Wreak-It Ralph! It's so good, I wish it had a sequel...

weaboo_98

If you like Ghibli movies, I'd give Castle in the Sky a try. It's my favorite. You may also enjoy Howl's Moving Castle

BoomBasher

Seen all the Ghiblis, Castle in the Sky was good and I honestly didn’t really like Howls Moving Castle although I should definitely rewatch it

b00sh_skad00sh

I rewatched it recently still don’t understand the plot even though it’s my favorite movie

PearceWD

Mad God

sndtrb89

it was so good, i watched it like two nights ago and haven't shut up about it

flonkwnok

Happy cake day

DarthBalinofSkyrim

Thought that was stop motion?

ArcelothColdheart

Stop motion *is* animation. And a bloody good type of animation.

[deleted]

Omfg!! Song of the sea I haven't been able to remember that name for so long! I loved that movie so much!

TranscendentCabbage

Over the Garden Wall isn't really a movie I think? Super based tho The Lego Movie, The Mitchell's vs the Machines, Coraline, Redline (the 2009 anime movie)

BoomBasher

Imma count it as a movie since the entire series put together is about movie length

heavyfuel

You actually recommend me bunch of movies because of your post lol

sndtrb89

the venture bros series has the heart and effort youre looking for

kkadzy

Should I watch it from the beginning? I've heard it changes quite drastically over time

sndtrb89

yes, absolutely. the deeper it gets the more preposterous the callbacks become

ValeM1911

Wolfwalkers, same people that made song of the sea

LowAd1734

Akira

FwendyWendy

Who Framed Roger Rabbit? That should be at the top of the list.

FrisianDude

[deleted]

You have very fine tastes

[deleted]

When The Wind Blows

MagosZyne

If you feel like watching something relatively old and obscure there's Flight of Dragons (has James Earl Jones voicing an evil wizard so that's always fun) If you accept series then there's Pantheon which just got its second and final season. If you do plan to watch this you'll probably need your pirate hat as the only place you can currently watch this American made show is in Australia There's the French made Corto Maltese movies based on a comic book Kubo and the Two Strings The French movie Belleville Rendez-Vous Disney's Atlantis in case you haven't seen it already The anime movie On-Gaku: Our Sound Paranorman The illusionist

FwendyWendy

Akira is required viewing

erratiK_9686

I'll recommend The king and the Mockingbird, just for the fact that its a masterpiece that's not that well known. Not sure you'll like it but it's worth watching. I'll also add Azur & Asmar, it's an absolutely gorgeous movie. Every kid in my generation in France grew up with Michel Ocelot's animated movies, they are very unique pieces of art definitely worth a try (especially if you like tales and legends) I also love The Rain Children I have no doubt you'll enjoy it

milktruckfucker

Nightmare before Christmas

Keezees

The Iron Giant Watership Down The Black Cauldron Belleville Rendezvous The Road to El Dorado The Secret of Kells The Time Masters aka Les Maitres du Temps

Games_Sweat_Shop

The Secret of Kells, right up your alley. If you’re feeling a bit more grim give samurai Jack or primal a try.

PerliousPelicans

spiderman across the spiderverse

PerliousPelicans

ShinyShinyTomato

I second that you should watch Marcel the Shell with Shoes Om

KonungariketSuomi

Fantastic Mr Fox

Peregrine_x

ghost in the shell 1995 i know you said movies, but the nausicaa manga is a fantastic story. secret of kells, wolf walkers, wolf children flcl (original is great, sequel series/spinnoffs are kinda missing something) gravity falls, over the garden wall, adventure time, the owl house. Jin-Roh the wolf brigade.

ibi_trans_rights

[deleted]

[удалено]

b00sh_skad00sh

Oh also any and all studio Aardman films and shorts- wallace and grommet, chicken run, shaun the sheep, etc. you also probably already have this on your list but anything by don bluth is fantastic, like rock a doodle, all dogs go to heaven, an American tail, the secret of nimh, the pebble and the penguin, thumbelina, and the cutscenes for Dragon’s Lair. Also was surprised to see that someone else knows what cats don’t dance is!

Ratsinmyhoodie

that_one_shark

Redline (2009), the entire thing is on youtube. This is not a recommendation, its an order. I should convince you more so im editing this comment to give you a synopsis and gush about it a little. Redline is the directorial debut of Takeshi Koike and is animated by madhouse, yknow, the people who animated the 98 trigun anime, kirby right back at ya, death note, hunter x hunter and a lot more. Redline follows the main character, Sweet JP, a human in the far future who makes a living participating in a high speed illegal underground race. The movie starts in the middle of the race known as the Yellow Line, the qualifying race for the biggest race, the titular Redline, which can essentially be summarized as F-ZERO if it was animated. The movie uses its medium to the fullest, being a masterful show of skill in both animation, sound design and direction. Every frame is completely hand drawn and is a piece of art in its own right, the vehicles are all unique and highly detailed, the animation is fluid and works together witht he music and sound design so well that you feel the supersonic speeds the characters experience throughout the races. The movie took 7 years to animate and made Madhouse lose a shit ton of money on production it didnt make back as it never took off, likely due to lack of advertising. The movie has an amazing eye for detail and has a ton of enjoyavle characters, including but not limited to: Josuke Higashikata if he was the other kind of drag racer, comedically oversexualised girls parody gundam, adam smasher from cyberpunk, a pig (both of the cop and the swine variety), space robot nazis, and a bio superweapon called "funky boy" which is played off 110% straight.
