Yea people still do it, but it’s quite expensive. GOTR is still pretty decent xp though. If you’re trying to rush for 1750 I might also suggest crafting and fletching which are both very fast skills even doing methods that make gp or don’t cost very much gp/xp. Smithing gold bars with goldsmith gauntlets at Blast Furnace is also like 300k xp/hr+ which can get you some very fast levels. Training prayer at the chaos alter is another really fast method for xp, somewhat expensive but if you’re just going for 1750 you can just get some quick levels without pushing all the way to 99.
I don’t know how far you are from 1750, and you may be aware of all the things I mentioned, just figured I’d share just in case you weren’t, though. Lots of ways to get to 1750 without having to shell out a ton of gp for some RC levels.

Kill drags its slow but you get xp and gold. Here and there grind out a combat stat to help kill faster and bigger stuff. Train slayer maybe.
