I cut off my locs after 8 years and got waves. Locs are 100% harder to MAINTAIN but waves are harder to get because you can’t just let your hair grow out like locs, you have to actually put in work. Locs aren’t twist your hair and let em grow out when you’re not free-forming. So you’re wrong about locs needing less maintenance but waves do require more patience and active work to get your desired pattern.
The amount of work you put in on waves is far greater than locs my boy 😂. The amount of time you devote per week to waves and on top of it, people with twists and locs aren't the ones who do their own hair in like 98% of cases 😂. So imma have to say nah. I put in a minimum of 9 hours a week into my waves fam.

Sorry, I should have said thick instead of deep. When I mean thick I mean how packed the hair is. That dude has softer hair, so when he grow it out, it isn't super thick and doesn't have a lot of potential to get matted. Really, anything outside of the 4 hair type should be MUCH easier for waves. Idk about locs with that hair though. I normally don't see niggas with that hair type and locs. Like ever

I know what the worst, the average and I have heard of the best, routines as well. On average, wavers spend much more time on their hair than the average person with locs or twists will.
