Oh they for sure didn't have money growing up. My brother in law is just a really generous gift giver. He works hard for his money and doesn't have a lot of expenses and just likes to go all out. Last year he helped pay for his mom to get a new fireplace. We do a gift exchange each year instead of trying to get everyone something. So this year he was my secret Santa and this is what he did.

I would! I have gotten a ton of mileage out of it. Been printing a lot since I got it and have printed things for myself, my kids, my wife, my friends, and my coworkers. I have zero complaints with it and fully intend to continue to use it. The Bambu Lab will be getting a lot of use as well but I really really want to use it mainly for.mutli colored prints. But I'm also willing be printing multi colored prints om my elegoo, just piece by piece. I would be using it just as much if my BIL didn't buy this.
Why paint when you can have it printed in the right colours to start with? š
Not the OP, but I do both.. Painting minatures from the resin printer can be a fun hobby.. but sometimes it's nice to including a few colours in a print and it just be done right away (and to a high standard).
I just got the same (P1S and AMS) and although I probably won't do a lot of prints with many colours (swapping colour is very slow and a little wasteful), just being able to include some details with extra colours makes things look much better than just a single solid color - for example I just printed https://www.printables.com/model/387779-bambu-labs-tool-box-x1c-p1p-the-original to store some of the tools/bits it came with and the logo makes it look much nicer than just a solid box. I also printed a few bookmarks for the kids in a similar way.. they're flat, but dual-color to have their favourite characters/names in a different color.
There are other advantages to the AMS too... like having 4 colours to select from without having to swap reels, being able to fall back to another roll if one runs out, or being able to use a different material for support interfaces so support can be removed more easily... this AMS combo comes with some of Bambu's "PLA Support" filament - though I haven't tried it out yet.

A lot of things I've printed tend to be quite custom (like things for my kids, or to improve things around the house) and aren't worth sharing, so if everyone else is like me, the online models might be skewed a little because those sorts of things are more useful to others versus the other things being printed.
But then it's also very possible that many people are like me and buy 3D printers as a fun hobby and don't actually have a great deal of things to print š
Good question! So I am actually planning on getting into making these prints smooth specifically for painting and sanding. The reason I don't is because of how time consuming it can be and how not artistic I am. But I will be trying. I've been researching how to make prints smooth and primed for good paint and it is something I want to get into. I think with the speed of the Neptune 4 will be a great place to get a lot of print out quick to try out putty, sand, repeat, then prime and paint.
