Rule 5: Lore only. This subreddit is for discussion of 40k lore only. Please do not post/discuss rules or tactics of the tabletop, painting, building, or miniatures. There are other subreddits for that. Please also do not post/discuss things that are generally off-topic to 40k lore.

I play necromunda, blood bowl and 3rd edition 40k 😋 their mainline stuff is hot garbage, but I do still like their skirmish/smaller game stuff. Plus 3D printing

Pure lore and media. It's not like I am not interested in table top game, it's quite simply just that it's not available here along with like pretty much any board game. Not only that, the models are apparently pretty expensive where it's actually available so you can guess how it is here where it's not available and I have 0 friends who are interested in board games anyways save for 1 who is also strictly lore only like me.

I play other company's games as well but I'm actively playing Horus Heresy and building my fourth army for it right now. GW's not my favourite game company but the models are really nice to build and I do like whipping a HH army out for a game every few weeks, I'm aiming to have 10-ish armies for it by the end.

I'm a newer fan but I don't plan/want to ever play 40k tabletop- I still get models though because I like painting/displaying/lorebuilding, but this allows me to be really sparing and just get models I really like. I have a harlequin, some Admech, a Drukhari kit, and a Trazyn just because they're models that make me happy rather than feeling compelled to buy a bunch of meta stuff or stuff I don't want.

Welp, TTRPG (deathwatch and dark heresy) that I m still playing with my friends and, occasionly, novels and video games are all that connect me to wh40k as of now. When I was motivated to play I didn't have time and money (mostly to commission a paint job for my army, I really enjoy converting the models, but painting just dries me out completely). Now I have time and enough money (even with taking into consideration that GW stop officially selling their products in my country which makes prices even less desirable than GW usual increase), but I am interested in tabletop less and less. Models that they are releasing now are cool but last couple of editions were a complete turn-off... So I am unlikely to return.

Never played a tabletop game of anything in my life. Purely crpgs. Some of those short Hammer and Bolter videos are fun and I’ve been collecting JoyToy’s 40k line of figures. That’s as Warhammer as I’m going to get.

DornPTSDkink

Ask this in r/Warhammer40k not a lore sub.

I got into 40k because of the Dawn of War video game series. I loved the aesthetic so it drew me in immediately. I tried to get into some of the books but honestly didn't enjoy most of them LOL. If I get a bigger place I might start painting the miniatures. I think they're cool but I don't have the time or space for them ATM 😔

Belisarius9818

Never touched a model in my life but I’d be down to learn to paint. I’ve observed games before and it just didn’t look like my cup of tea. (But holy shit some of you chads are running around with masterpiece models). Tbh it can make getting lore kind of difficult if it isn’t in a book but tbh this subreddit has been extremely helpful with book suggestions and lore clarification.

Illustrious-Tale-381

Im very new to 40k but im just into the lore. I've read 4? Of the ciaphus cain books, and im working my way through the horus heresy books and am on nemesis right now. I also enjoying playing Darktide and am looking forward to Space Marine 2. I just dont know anyone that plays the tabletop game, and the models are just way too expensive for me.

Mountain_Ad5795

I've never had a single warhammer miniature. I just love the lore.
