You might want to get referred to an opthamaologist, you might have rosacea in your eyes. I was recently diagnosed with this, I didn’t even know it was a thing.
Wow, I just got referred to a dermatologist yesturday, after telling my dr I think I have rosacea. I was unaware that my eye veins were related. Thanks
Yeah, I just got a few rounds of VBeam done (LOVE), and he had me wear thick sunglasses the entire time. I don’t think they’d be allowed do your actual eyelids.
This is: Telangiectasia.....it can have causes that aren't due to underlying disease. Examples include rosacea, aging, genetics, pregnancy, sun exposure, or varicose veins.
Telangiectasia may be present on the outer portion of the eyelid. Scaling can be seen at the base of the eyelashes forming "collarettes." Also, loss of lashes (madarosis), depigmentation of lashes (poliosis), and misdirection of lashes (trichiasis) may be seen
Antibiotics applied to the eyelid have been shown to provide relief of symptoms and resolve bacterial infection of the eyelids. These are available in several forms, including eyedrops, creams and ointments. If you don't respond to topical antibiotics, your doctor might suggest an oral antibiotic
(I do work in ophthalmology but copied and pasted definitions bc this girl is tired)
Occusoft platinum plus foam- eye safe leave on that reduces redness/swelling. You can also use it to remove makeup.
Are you using any eyecreams? That could be irritating your eye.Although the veins look normal to me for anyone that has pale skin. (I used to do makeup)
What helps makeup wise is finding a good nude or neutral eyeshadow on top of a concealer as a base.
I would go swatch test colors 1-6:[https://www.maccosmetics.com/product/13835/115808/products/makeup/eyes/eye-palettes-kits/connect-in-colour-eye-shadow-palette-unfiltered-nudes#](https://www.maccosmetics.com/product/13835/115808/products/makeup/eyes/eye-palettes-kits/connect-in-colour-eye-shadow-palette-unfiltered-nudes#)
(hard to tell color matches on a computer screen)
I just really like MAC shadows because of the coverage they give. You can buy the single colors and not get the whole set.
If you are using a brow or lash growth serum that can thin the fat in your eye area so you may want to stop using it. (hormones in the stuff affect orbital fat) It reverses usually when you stop using it.
Thanks for your reply, yes I have been using brow and lash serum. I think I had it before I started using them but now I'm not sure. I'll have to stop and see what happens.
lash serum did this to me. so i started taking over the counter allergy meds xyzal and within a week they were much lighter and my eyes didn't look so red veiny and itchy. they didn't itch but looked like they should itch
Brow serum cause ptosis on one of my eyelids (not sure why it affected only one eye though 🤷🏻♀️). I wish I’d done research before using it (it *did* thicken my eyebrows, but the ptosis convinced me it’s not worth having thicker eyebrows if it means aging my eyes even more).
Perfect! You instinctively knew lol. Watch for other vein/vascular changes & go to doc asap to get it checked out.
Vitamin support for veins:
Vitamin C: The Vein Strengthening Agent.
Vitamin E: Antioxidant Protection for Veins.
Vitamin K: Promoting Healthy Blood Flow.
Vitamin B6: Balancing Homocysteine Levels.
Vitamin D: Enhancing Vein Elasticity.
Absolutely ocular rosacea
I have it and have been taking doxy 100mg since October
And my eyes are finally white again and the veins have all but disappeared on the lids
You won't like this, but I use Julep creme to powder eye shadow on Putty or Clay. It covers and blends with your skin. It doesn't look like eye shadow due to blending with your skin color
I have similar spider veins - not quite as much, but close. I use Mac's "Painterly" Paint Pot as a Primer and it completely covers them and looks like my skin (put the primer all the up to your eyebrows as it is skin color). Then you can add eyeshadow, or not. I attribute it to my very pale, almost translucent Irish skin, my doctor said it was just getting older (I have the same spider veins on my legs).
I’ve been reading so much good stuff about using estrogen cream for skincare. Can you elaborate on how estrogen cream can help? I’m prone to spider veins and supposedly estrogen can make those worse. Is it misinformation that estrogen weakens veins?

Same here!

Please keep us posted on the procedures or treatments that can help with this. I have the same issue.
Will do.
Can they actually do anything about this?
I’m not sure yet 😭
You can treat blood vessels with laser.
Probs not a good idea in your eyelids
Endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) can be used on the lids.
Yeah, I just got a few rounds of VBeam done (LOVE), and he had me wear thick sunglasses the entire time. I don’t think they’d be allowed do your actual eyelids.
There are other lasers you can use on lids.
I was thinking even if they didn't have rosacea, I bet they could use Rhofade on their eyelids to shrink those blood vessels.
I have these too. Glad you posted - thought it was just me.
Please go to someone who can refer to ophthalmologist. It looks like ocular rosacea and/or MGD.

All I can see is noticeable veining

I love using a mineral foundation powder on my eyelids before shadow or even alone. Jane Iredale is what I recommend, available on Amazon.
I used to have the same.. multivitamin, red light bed & more time in the sun makes mine go away.
I've just bought a red light panel so maybe this will help!

Do you have dry eye as well? Is your rosacea painful? Mine is.
How did they diagnose? I have the same going on and have seen an optho but they didn’t find it? I didn’t ask about this though, just for dry eye.

And blood pressure?

Well you sold me.. just ordered it. Thank you!
I hope it works for you!
If I’m not mistaken, I believe there is a laser to treat these.
Estrogen cream

Be careful as it can induce/worsen melasma.
Damn. Is there any info about how/why?

Thanks for the link! That’s seriously something to be aware of
