Seems pretty self explanatory but…the more weight your wheels/tires are, the more your engine works, thus the feeling of your engine working harder, acceleration is slower, braking is slower, etc.
Idk do you not own a car? Think about if you added more weight to the 4 things that keep your car moving and on ground and wonder how that’d feel if you made that weight a lot more.
I've always thought the fifteen52 analog wheels looked pretty sweet. At 28 lbs they're a little heavy for an aluminum wheel though.

I put the fifteen52 Range hd in magnesium grey on my 2010 Limited. It looks so much better than the 20" chrome wheels that the previous owner put on it
And they're soft too. You can bend them up on potholes. The factory steelies for the FJ are much better than these. They are a better quality steel, and wider than 4Runner wheels so they will support a 295 width.
Oof. For sure. Seriously heavy. Out of curiosity I looked em up on Amazon. Rough Country 17x9 rims are 32 lbs each. I ran a set of 15"x8" steelies on my Jeep. Never again lol. That's why I went with 25lb Methods on the 4Runner.
I have a set of steelies with blizzaks as my winter set

Edit: mine are the factory Toyota steelies from dealership

Icon Rebounds in black look like steelies. The ones you have pictured look awesome. Classic 4x4 look and a lot of the foreign off roaders prefer them since they can be hammered back in shape on the trail after taking a rock. It's all preference but I think it looks good on the right setup.
Regarding the weight of most generic steel wheels, don’t they weigh around 29 lbs? I know it’s not incredibly lightweight but I thought that’s around how much the sr5 snowflake wheels also weighed, so I didn’t think drivability would be any different. And aren’t trd pro wheels around 25 lbs? Would 5 lbs make a significant difference in driving feel? Thanks
It’s honestly the best look and most respectable. I’m
Just sayin. 🤷♂️
Bonus if the steelies have the blue & red stripes on the lip.
These are the rules.
I had steelies on my 3rd gen and holy hell could I tell the difference. Be wary about the weight.
How can you tell?

Yeah never owned a car or driven one before, thanks for the explanation. Really helpful.
What's the actual weight difference?

I have a set of these and they rock
Unless you're going for that esthetic then there's a lot better options out there.

The last time I looked into steel wheels, the weight was the biggest drawback. Like 35lbs each.

I had a set of fifteen52 analogs on my FJ that I loved. They're an aluminum wheel that looks like a retro steel.

What paint did you use?
Those aren’t steelies.
Or the TRD wheels we all think off…

How much did they cost and how much do they weigh?

Shop was lazy pushing the fender liner forward. I fixed it later
What does that entail? I’m new into lifting these and started collecting my very mild lift and want everything to go smoothly
Rustoleum matte black and matte clear coat.
Anyone else know a cheap but reliable extra set of wheels I can buy?
You and find 5th gen factory take offs for $4-600 a set with decent tires usually all day long on marketplace. Even for less if you’re patient.
Consider yourself lucky. Stock toyota wheels are gold in hawaii. Like thousands of dollars, especially if they have fresh tires on them.
I have a set of 2003 tundra wheels and tires been siting in my garage for years I need to move Edit. No idea if they fit a 4Runner or not 265/70/16
But they look better than chrome and are alloy so.... I was offering an alternative.
These are sick and that price is nice. If my trail didn’t have the most ba 8 holers I’d cop these.
U don’t like those 17” TRD black alloy wheels?
Don’t steelies deform?
