I have predator steps on my current 5th gen and rock sliders on my last one, I do trails in the PNW mostly just dirt trails for camping or shooting. No issues whatsoever. If I was rock climbing? Would absolutely want sliders.
I don’t think most 4Runner use-cases warrant sliders for what they do, there is plenty of clearance.
People in this sub may disagree but I’m with you! I actually talked the dealer into throwing them in when I bought my car.
I feel like they make the sides of the car look less naked, the older members of my family appreciate the help getting into my car, they block other cars from door dinging you, and I don’t do any extreme enough off roading to worry about them getting caught on anything. Glad to see another predator step fan on here! There are *dozens* of us!
I like them and at the end of the day that’s all that matters. I’m running a 3 inch lift so it ultimately sits about the same height as factory height with standard running boards.
Looks like you had predator steps too and every picture you posted your 4Runner sitting on pavement. That’s not to say you don’t do any real rock climbing but you’d have to do some real trailing for these steps to snag on anything.
Won’t they snag on everything?
Na, mines a total pavement princess. Most off-roading I ever do is an occasional dirt road.
Fair.

Time for some shin guards!

Do you have any lift on ?
Yeah, 3 inch front and back
Any more details on the suspension
Arb rear 3 inch medium duty rear coils, rear bilstein shocks, 3 inch bilstein 5100 up front and front left level kit to help level driver side lean.
Mind me asking what your highway MPG is with that setup?
Average is like 17.5
No hate at all but makes me sad a pavement princess can afford a lift but I can’t :(
Imstalled myself for less than $1200 all said and done.
Pavement princess but the fact you did a lift yourself is more than most off roaders can say. Well done!
Thanks!
True!
What are those cross bars on your roof rack?
Ski rack. I live in a ski resort town.
I live in the swamps of Louisiana hence my ignorance of ski racks.
All good 👍 I should take them off in the summer but too lazy and it’s the only time I really use the rack anyway.
yes they do - looks killer!
I sold mine. While they look cool, steps seem to be in a wrong spot. I found those to be a pain to use, especially for the rear seats passengers.

Tell them what? Stop liking what they like?
