In living color, Batman Animate, Knight Rider reruns and or Dukes of Hazard right before supper....
Wild rumors on the school yard. Bootleg VHS tapes...
Am I alone in having nostalgia over books on tape? Those slow speed players with four side tapes (in reality it's splitting the stereo tracks into their own mono tracks.)
Late night, all night gaming sessions with the boys and as I got older, online.
Smash, golden eye, blitz, madden, rainbow, halo, gears, early COD. Plus dozens of other, but those hit home.
Pokemon blue and silver.
And about to restart dk64 again soon.
Hours spent sitting with my best friend in one of our bedrooms, listening to cds (all the way through) while we played The Sims or Nancy Drew PC games. Then we’d take our bikes out and swim at the lake for hours. It was so simple but probably some of my happiest memories.
This is a memory from the early 2000s, I'm in high school and had just gotten my first pc from Circuit City, which came with 6 months of CompuServe, couldn't believe I'd actually have internet on my computer...
Staying up laaaaate, like 6am late, chatting on AIM and Yahoo Messenger with people I met in the chat rooms or knew from school, once summer break had started. One time, I remember chatting with my then girlfriend, now wife, until the sun came up. Feels so magical.
AOL Roleplaying chat rooms and then later "The Palace"
RhyDin was interesting but I much preferred user made ones that were either based off of TV/movies or even better if they were just made up universes and had a horror element.
I remember staying up all night RPing that way I couldn't get in trouble for tying up the phone line.
::Hears Grandma waking up in the morning::
::shuts off the computer monitor and jumps in bed::
::Grandma walks in::
::sits up in bed and pretends to wipe sleep from my eyes:: morning Nanny. ::quickly jumps up and turns the screen back on to log out before she tries to call the neighbor over for coffee::
Every Thursday night, I go to an Arcade downtown, and I play Street Fighter 2 Hyper against other players.
I hold the Barcade records for SF2, SF2HF, SSF2T, and Tekken Tag Tournament.
Roswell tv show. Every now and then I rewatch the first season because I get warm fuzzies watching it. I remember watching it in my childhood home and it takes me back.
Imagining walking through an old house from the 90s with the tv on playing something from the 90s walking into a room with an old pc with quake playing and doom. And hearing mom say dinners ready!
Creating summer mixed tapes on cassettes! Playing them on a Walkman.
Late night LAN parties with friends + 2-liter of Mountain Dew and pizza.
Lock ins at the roller rink.
Watching beavis and butthead late at night as a child
TMNT

Nancy Drew PC games were the best!
When you knew you were in a bad part of town because there were barrel fires and day-glo paint and blacklights everywhere. The entire Y2K-sthetic.
Did you live on the set of Batman and Robin?
You're right, I should have been more clear. When that was the movie aesthetic for "bad part of town"
Watching Robin Hood Prince of Thieves
It's a Liopleurodon, Charlie.

Binge watching Popular Mechanics for kids on Discovery channel
Ranma 1/2 and Sailor Moon Earthworm Jim and the Star Wars fighting game 'Ghostbusters' song being played at the roller rink
Everything relating to Toonami
OMG I hated when they changed the alien

Mid-late 90’s raves. Even though 99% of it was drug-induced, the feeling of utter freedom and camaraderie was palpable,
