And yet he managed to look the exact same as a short 4th rounder that didn't have the benefit of summer reps. It was obviously a tough situation and yet he still managed to be one of the biggest liabilities.
That said, nothing wrong with him being a backup at all. It's just a disappointing (though not uncommon) 1st round pick.
Hey, I’m about 8 domestics deep, but I say offer him 45 mil/year and see what he says. He just isn’t worth more than that until he proves himself against good comp.
There is no world where tua accepts 45 million a year. He’s put up better numbers than Goff and Lawrence the last two years and they’re both making more than that
People treat allen as if he has already won a bowl, he consistently comes up short in clutch games. Who you think got the ball placed on the right hash before wide right 2?
Allen rolling to his right trying to force a deep ball instead of taking what the defense gave him.
Its copium if one doesnt examine his results.
Winning a playoff game doesnt mean shit if you dont win them all. Big cuckold energy.
"Naw I didnt hook up with her, but i got close enough to smell her hooking up with that other dude"
No, dumbass, I customized my flair to read "Bills Custom Flair" so I could see if any idiot Dolphins fans take the bait. And then see if they can comprehend the concept of irony.
QB comp is crazy, but Tua is also that weird spot of goodenough to be too hard to replace but also not goodenough to win it. He will get paid, in the 5 yr 250 range.
I agree that wasn’t his best game but he also had a UCL injury, found himself down 14 in the blink of an eye, and it’s not like he doesn’t have a resume of quality play in the playoffs.
Mahomes contract is unfair. But if Allen signed this offseason, he'd be making more than Trevor. The biggest contracts don't go to the best players. They go to good players that signed most recently.
Selling the farm for Tyreek and getting a master offensive scheme guy to make things easy for Tua is going to inflate Tua's contract wayyyyy beyond what his talent deserves and as a bills fan i fucking love it.
Unfortunately, the contracts paid by position are directly governed by the laws of supply and demand.
Since the QB position is arguably the most important position on the team, a quality QB is in *very* high demand. Since the supply of quality QBs is limited, the going price for them realistically has no cap.
The fact that teams are paying record-breaking salaries to mid-tier QBs proves this.
The actual reason, IMO, is the franchise tag. If they don’t reach a deal the team can use the tag, which is the avg of the 5 highest at that position. That’s why all of these contracts are practically indistinguishable from each other.
In a real free market guys like Mahomes would get 20% more than guys like Tua, but because of the tag all of the top 10-15 guys get whatever top dollar is this year.
Oh I understand the reasoning. But at this rate and with the cap, there literally won't be enough for a team. If something does not change I think this will be unsustainable and crash the market.
well, it does have limit. The negotiations are definitely a two-way street. If no team is willing to pay what an agent is asking for, the agent will rethink what to ask for.
Every front office knows it still needs to build an actual competitive team to justify their paying the QB. Definitely a balancing act, but these blockbuster deals for above-average puts pressure on the rest of the league.
"Grandpa, how did the Great Depression of 2024 start?"
"The Cowboys paid Dak Prescott. It started a chain reaction that destroyed wall street cause it turns out that Texas Wall Street project was a giant ponzi scheme for Texas"
Tua, at least numbers-wise is far better than Trevor. Not to mention that JAX plays in a much weaker division, and since Peyton Manning left the AFC south, there hasn’t been a time when the division was getting a spotlight since. Tua plays in the AFC East, where the Jets/Pats have big markets, Miami is a bigger than most market, and Buffalo is a solid playoff contender for the last 5 or so years. Yeah, Tua gets bigger pay than Trevor, and yes it hurts the Dolphins cap space. Additionally, as a Jets fan…I think Tua is a very solid QB and his numbers are solid and so is his play, but he’s got durability issues—so giving him that huge contract is a HUGE risk.
Very well said. It's getting to the point where Miami has to either go all-in on Tua or cut their losses. The longer they wait, the more expensive the decision will get. I really hope they wait forever to pay him and they destroy thier cap space for a *maybe* top 5 QB.
Also, you should probably flair up, bro.
Jokes aside, I think this only prolongs the negotiations.
Tua probably knows, at least at this point in time, that he can’t justify being paid that much money. Especially with how much Tyreek and Waddle are getting. Jacksonville was just stupid in this instance, as Trevor Lawrence is an unproven player.
It reminds me of the Deshaun Watson & Lamar Jackson debacle. Watson was just an anomaly, but Lamar kept trying to argue being paid $250 million guranteed because his resume is better than Watson’s. An argument like that just doesn’t have merit, Lawrence is not a good QB, nevertheless does he deserve to be the highest paid Quarterback.
Tua truthfully deserves $450-500m, and if they’d beaten the Ravens instead of losing 56-19, that’s exactly what he would’ve gotten. Alas, he’s probably gettin’ $285-315m.
It makes me laugh when people say a player is going to get "x dollar amount".
There needs to be a definitive descriptive factor to quantify what "x dollar amount" actually means.
You should have said, "Tua gon get 350 mil *over a specific amount of years*" to quantify that he will make "x dollars for x amount of time".
Was I drunk at my local minor league Thirsty Thursday game? Absolutely! Offer Tua 45/yr and call it a day. Let’s see how that goes with my fellow Fins Fans.
Do you honestly believe that Tua is worth less than Lawrence?
No way in hell Tua's camp will allow him to accept such a contract. If Miami's FO doesn't give him a market-appropriate deal, he will for sure get one from another team.
I do not understand how tua is simultaneously the most underrated and overrated QB in the league. People are seriously saying 45 million a year, but just comparing his stats with Goff and Lawrence makes it clear he’ll never sign that contract.
That is exactly why the Jags paying TL such an absurd contract totally fucks teams like yours. TL is most definitely not worth what he got, but since Jacksonville is in a situation similar to the Patriots when Miami, Buffalo, and jete were perennially terrible, TL is now just as valuable as Brady was when they were just gifted 5 division wins every season.
Jacksonville effectively fucked over any franchise that *needs* to stay relevant in much-more competitive divisions.
Also let’s just ignore the Lawrence contract for a second because there’s an even bigger elephant in the room. Does anyone think tua would take 45 million when Danny dimes got 40? If any NFL GM was given a choice between those two options, which one will they take? Hell, would they take Tua for 60 million if the only other option is Danny dimes?
That is a great question. I really don't know what other GMs would or wouldn't do, given such a hypothetical.
The circumstances GMs are presented with; division rivals' skill players, schedules, and most importantly, other contracts certain teams give their players, are going to dictate what they have to do to in order to accomplish their upcoming-season goals of success.
Ultimately, if Miami's FO wants to be successful *now*, they are going to have to pay Tua more than they want to.
Give Jacksonville a nice 'Thank You' for the unwanted fucking.
Tua is gonna get 70 mil a year at this rate
Why not make it 80 mil? Lol
No that will be Dak
Nahh Dak deserves 100
Heeeere we gooooo
I could see both
so true he said it thrice
my mistake
as a Bills fan i think they should give him $75 million a year
maye will get 100
Inshallah
you might have the best flair in this sub

Why they paying Mac Jones's backup so much? Are they stupid?
What does a rapper have to do with this?
Mac Jones is Lowkey a solid backup. No QB would have succeeded with the past post Brady
And yet he managed to look the exact same as a short 4th rounder that didn't have the benefit of summer reps. It was obviously a tough situation and yet he still managed to be one of the biggest liabilities. That said, nothing wrong with him being a backup at all. Ah, I remember Todd Collins like it was yesterday...

There is no world where tua accepts 45 million a year. He’s put up better numbers than Goff and Lawrence the last two years and they’re both making more than that
But what’s he done in the games that matter? Look, I hope Tua is “The Guy”, but there’s no denying that he’s crumbled under pressure.
“Games that matter” is a completely arbitrary measure and ignores the fact that every game matters
Tua is a generational, clutch time QB. Miami needs to do whatever it takes to keep him in town for a long long time.
https://preview.redd.it/zqhvp3zmdf6d1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2c48b248eb82a8fedbfd31bb331582fb71d33b20
Yeah he doesn't do stupid shit like put the ball on the right hash mark right before you need to kick a field goal that eventually goes wide right.
Their qb is better than ours. Sit this one out champ.
Neither one has won a super bowl.
Neither did Jamarcus Russell, we still know Josh Allen is better.
Raiders fan from the clouds ![gif](giphy|KePUCCejnhxfpEe21s|downsized)
How so? The bills have paid infinitely more for the same result.
What does that have to do with the two QBs skill level?
People treat allen as if he has already won a bowl, he consistently comes up short in clutch games. Who you think got the ball placed on the right hash before wide right 2? Allen rolling to his right trying to force a deep ball instead of taking what the defense gave him. Its copium if one doesnt examine his results.
No one is acting like he won a bowl. People are acting like he’s better than Tua. He is.
By what metric? More playoff exits?
We can’t even win one playoff game. Just park it bub.
Winning a playoff game doesnt mean shit if you dont win them all. Big cuckold energy. "Naw I didnt hook up with her, but i got close enough to smell her hooking up with that other dude"
Terrible analogy
Spot on analogy. Get a whiff. Using playoff wins as a metric for success is a participation trophy
Nope, just shits down his leg every time he’s in a big moment!

you’re so illiterate you tried to make a custom flair and just left it as *bills custom flair*
No, dumbass, I customized my flair to read "Bills Custom Flair" so I could see if any idiot Dolphins fans take the bait. And then see if they can comprehend the concept of irony.
🫡
And how has that worked out for josh? Oh he's never been to a super bowl either?
lol, Allen is one of the most clutch playoff qbs of all time. Keep flailing
Really? That clutch is slipping on hills homie
Really. Just because of… yah know history, reality, numbers. But hey, do you!
Yeah? Who got the wide right 2 ball spotted on the right hash?
lol, that’s all you have? Legendary players have made mistakes in playoff games, you simpleton.
So, by your own logic, Jim Kelly is 4x better than Marino because he's been to 4 Super Bowls?
![gif](giphy|yXAnA4NqduFKM6gLCW|downsized)

No, they are the same, because neither won one.
Marino went to one too, so it’d be 3X better.
Buddy
in maths, a 4:1 ratio represents a 4x differential...
Jim Kelly is an all time choke artist. Losing 4 superbowls in a row isn’t the flex you think it is. It’s just sad.
well, reading comprehension doesn't seem to be an attribute of jete fans, so I'll just disregard your little comment.
Your comeback made no sense at all. Think you hit your head on too many tables. I would too if I lived in Buffalo tho so I guess that’s fair.
[has he ever done this though?](https://youtu.be/AJF6eJWiZWk?si=n_o_lKQ35ljF-CdE)
I don’t know if he’s an offensive coordinator, but hey, maybe! What’s important is that he’s a bonafide hall of famer! Pay him to stay for good !
I’m sure Allen is chomping at the bit to play like shit and get another OC sent up the river.
Josh “playing like shit” in 2023 - 44 TDs in a year Tua - 87 TDs in 4 years
That’ll happen with a one dimensional offense
Referring to…..
I mean you’re the one that had to include Allen’s rushing touchdowns to pad his stat, so you tell me.
“Padding his stats” they ARE his stats 😂
It’s going to hurt Miami. But ultimately, this move also hurts the jaguars.
Mutually assured destruction I like it
Nah, this is a good move for the Jags.
I feel like Jacksonville are the real victims here. Having said that, yeah, Tua's agent got rock hard seeing this.
I'm pretty sure Jordan Love's agent went blind.
Dak’s Agent had an orgamsic stroke
QB comp is crazy, but Tua is also that weird spot of goodenough to be too hard to replace but also not goodenough to win it. He will get paid, in the 5 yr 250 range.
Same thing with josh, guy just can’t win it.
To be fair Allen has played amazing in the playoffs. On the list of reasons we haven’t got it done Allen is pretty far down the list.
I have no interest in being fair to the bills nor their fans
Oh I don’t blame you. Blind biased takes are what this subreddit is all about.
but we can all agree on one thing- FTJ
![gif](giphy|LDBuYzAwu8L4I|downsized) Right back at ya buddy 🫶🏽
you hate the jets, too. and you know it
Nobody hates that fucking team more than the mfs who willingly spend money on them every year It’s me. I’m mfs
i’ve always said, nobody hates any team more than jets fans hate the jets.
You’re a good sport. But I hate you, and I hope all the bad things happen to you and only you.

We were down 14 points 5 minutes in the bengals game. That wasn't his fault.
[удалено]
I agree that wasn’t his best game but he also had a UCL injury, found himself down 14 in the blink of an eye, and it’s not like he doesn’t have a resume of quality play in the playoffs.
Same as Josh Allen then?
I can’t believe Trevor makes more money than Allen and Mahomes. What is this league coming to
Inflation’s a bitch. Even to NFL owners.
Their half of the money went up too lol
Mahomes contract is unfair. But if Allen signed this offseason, he'd be making more than Trevor. The biggest contracts don't go to the best players. They go to good players that signed most recently.

It only hurts when you sign a non premium/elite QB. Thats the issue is QBs who don't deserve it still get top dollar because "next up"
great thought, but flair up.
"Grandpa, how did the Great Depression of 2024 start?" "The Cowboys paid Dak Prescott. It started a chain reaction that destroyed wall street cause it turns out that Texas Wall Street project was a giant ponzi scheme for Texas"
Just wait until next year honestly. Protect yourself from regression or injury.
Its a no win scenario for Miami. You either commit to your mid QB for a lot of money or head back to the roulette wheel and find another QB
Tua, at least numbers-wise is far better than Trevor. Not to mention that JAX plays in a much weaker division, and since Peyton Manning left the AFC south, there hasn’t been a time when the division was getting a spotlight since. Tua is so overrated what a mistake if they keep him
hot take, bro. Now flair up, pussy.
how?
click on your profile pic, and there should be a 'change user flair' option.
Trevor Lawrence is the dak of the afc south
If Tua signs a similar deal then I’ll be ecstatic. Good for Lawrence. Dude is a baller
Is he though?
Right. He should have torn his Achilles 4 plays into the season like a real baller
Or better yet, he should give himself 3 concussions in a single season, so he can be one concussion away from becoming a vegetable
no
I mean he's arguably the best QB on Miami so they should do whatever it takes to keep him
Jokes aside, I think this only prolongs the negotiations. Tua probably knows, at least at this point in time, that he can’t justify being paid that much money.
