Slow burn enemies to lovers. The worse they are to each other during the "enemies" phase, the better the payoff feels during the "lovers" stage. For context, my *introduction* to enemies to lovers was Special Forces by Marquesate and Vashtan. I didn't understand how they were meant to be love interests--what happened was just THAT BAD. Turned out, the one who did the worst thing wound up my favorite character 🤷🏼♀️
