Years ago I attended a 49ers game at candlestick. The Cardinals were thoroughly defeated and it was time to leave, in sadness of course. As I stood up from my seat to leave, I feel something hit me. It was a half full beer that blasted all over me and my cardinals jerseys. I felt immediate rage because I already had unaddressed personal issues that I was hiding with alcohol. I stood up in the most intimidating manner I could muster and challenged whomever throw the beer at me to a bloody brawl. I thank God to this day, that no one accepted my challenge and was able to walk away unscathed. Though it seemed to result in a mob mentality of hecklers, verbally assaulting me until I made my way out.
This was incident #1 at candlestick.
PS. The tailgating seemed like a general population prison yard for gangmembers.
My dad is from the Bay Area and we used to watch the regular season 49ers and Cardinals game at State Farm a lot. Well the last year we did it, the 49ers fans were horrific.
One specific and memorable experience was when I was waiting in line for beer, and the line was long- but you could tell the concession staff were working their asses off. Running around, slinging beer and hot dogs.
Anyway, this niners fan in the line next to me set a timer on his phone, and then when he got served he yelled. “Do you see the fucking time on my phone? Do fucking better!” I was a server through college so I have a lot of patience for the service industry and this was absolute appalling garbage behavior.
Gonna be the Rams for me. That hate has been flowing since the Jeff Fischer days and how dirty of a team they were.
Seattle is second just because of how obnoxious all those bandwagon fans were back in the LOB days. There were so many people that I KNEW were from here who never gave a shit about football then all of a sudden they’re in Hawks gear from head to toe talking shit.
