#HEY HEY HEY! KEEP THAT SKY STEADY THERE PAL!!!

M-Jack-85

Supa dupa happy Edit: Atlas has the weight of the world on his shoulders and Camus says: don't suffer because of that weight. We all need to try to make the world humanistic, but at the same time we can't take the weight of the world on our individual shoulders. The suffering from Sisyphus is more suffering about his own personal struggle, and Atlas suffers because he see others suffering.

Fallen-Shadow-1214

Orgasmic even

Fallen-Shadow-1214

Orgasmic even.

Master-Merman

To be technically correct, atlas holds the sky.

M-Jack-85

Oh wow, thanks! That's a big misconception.

Kind_Energy6798

You mean he holds the entire universe or something?

FrugalityPays

Ayn Rand should leave him alone

Methhouse

Libertarians would imagine Sisyphus happy, convinced that if he really wanted to, he could just start his own hill.

UnderstandingSmall66

lol good work

357Magnum

Depends on your opinion on isotonic vs. isometric exercise.

Holden_Toyerbutz

Indifferent

marabou22

Sore

jliat

You forgot Oedipus, he is actually in the essay, an absurd hero, after killing his father, having sex with his mother and gouging his own eyes out, and concludes, 'All is well'.

Fallen-Shadow-1214

Based Motherfucker

jliat

Or Don Juan,

ARedditorCalledQuest

I prefer Quixote.

jliat

Typical of posters here, not in The Myth of Sisyphus. I prefer conquerors. Not sad losers.... ;-)

eat_vegetables

How about Telemachus’s sneeze?

Fallen-Shadow-1214

If the sneeze brings joy, does that give the sneeze meaning? Or is joy itself meaningless?

growquiet

Why must we

malmquistcarl

That he has a good chiropractor?

replicantcase

Atlas shouldn't have pissed off Zeus?

OpenSauceMods

I think he'd probably be doing a lot better if we gave him some ibuprofen and a heatpack. It's the little things. Some snacky snacks, maybe, a guy can tolerate a lot if there's appy slices and peanut butter. Oh, some wine! I just got a couple of ice wines that are so so so good! Okay, wine, a sharp smokey cheddar, double brie, a creamy blue, date crackers, feta stuffed olives, spicy salami, smoked quail, fresh green grapes, and some strawberries. We can have red berry parfait for dessert. I'll bring a projector and my laptop, we can watch George of the Jungle and some David Attenborough docos. I've also got lactose tablets and cushions.

MoonShineInDaytime

Atlas: "Ugh, I'm so tired of holding up the sky. It's been ages!" Sisyphus: "Tell me about it, I've been pushing this boulder up a hill for eternity!" Atlas: "At least your task ends eventually. Mine never does!" Sisyphus: "But think of all the exercise I get! You're just standing there, holding stuff up." Atlas: "Exercise?! You try holding up a celestial body for a day. See how you like it!" Sisyphus: "Fair point. But at least I get a break when I reach the top... even if it does roll back down" Atlas: "Remind me to never complain to a titan again" Sisyphus: "Ha! Solidarity in suffering, my friend!"

Fallen-Shadow-1214

deadeyesknowdeadeyes

atlas is fuuuuuuuucked.

Dingusu

I think they could focus more on mainline SMT and stop milking Persona so much

linuxpriest

I don't. Just like I don't think about Sisyphus. I think about me - whether or not I want to live laughing at the absurdity of it all, or whether I'd rather live sad and miserable.
