I'm deep into the rabbit hole. I have a number of sealed boxes I don't have the time/interest to put together after buying them. After awhile normal sets just got too boring for me. There are some user created pieces that are pretty insane. The downside is you have to order all the pieces and for builds that have thousands...it takes a long time to separate/confirm that you receive all the pieces. Also when you get into the thousands of pieces, it's going to be multiple orders from multiple sellers so I usually plan at least 5 errors for every thousand piece.
This was my most recent build created by someone. Gundam Strike Build...about 2.5k pieces.

Honestly lol watches are literally a debilitating addiction, I laugh all the time because there are now videos telling you this is the end game and even though I'm on watches circle jerk and should know better I still find myself thinking about different watches all the time lol.
Yeah, I used to be "into watches", now I am just into watches I already own.
Most people who describe themselves as watch enthusiasts are literally never happy with what they have, they're chasing the dopamine hit you get from having the next nice expensive watch. One of my friends had a nice Hamilton Khaki for years, but always talked it down saying he would "upgrade" at some point. His "endgame" was a Tudor Ranger, which he finally bought in 2023. Now, less than a year later he's suddenly itching to get a Rolex Submariner because one of his golf buddies has one and he feels that the Tudor isn't good enough. I'm sure once he gets the Submariner, he'll start eyeing an AP or a Patek. All the watch enthusiasts I know are like this. Head over to r/Watches. It's pervasive.
Personally, between my Tissot Visodate, my vintage Seikos, my grandfather's Timex Marlin and the Omega Constellation I inherited from my mom's uncle, I have all the endgame watches I could ever need. I can just wear these and appreciate them instead of chasing more.
I think as long as you’re active in some way thats a positive! Being behind a screen and sitting for 8hrs plus a day for years is hard on the body. Staying active is so important imo when you’re an accountant.
Agreed :) I hope after a get into and then out of PA I can get a job near me I could bike to. Or maybe a WFH where I can take my laptop to my local library
bro bike riding is a workout if that is what you like doing its great excercise. I prefer running but I was surprised at how rigorous bike riding can actually be. Keep it up it'll keep you in shape too.

anime, gaming
I feel like this is how a lot of younger accountants spend their time these days. I saw steam notifications and an anime wallpaper pop up on my instructors video lecture one time. I bet he's a reddit user, too. 💀
LOL not sure if you are joking about cockfighting but I grew up in VN where it's kind of illegal. I used to remember watching cock fights and dudes scooping up their cocks stuffing them in their shirts and dispersing like roaches along with the crowd when someone comes screaming POLICE! Was funny as hell.
Oh man I used to be into MTG from about 2012 to 2019 or so. Wasn't a super hardcore player but figured that I still somehow managed to spend $8,800 on Magic cards in that timeframe.
Mind you, I also won about $1,200 from tournaments and later sold my collection for about $4,500, so I guess my net spend was "only" \~$3,100 but that is still a lot to spend on little pieces of cardboard.
Playing guitar, collecting and listening to vinyls, working out, tennis, magic the gathering, casual Nintendo games, dating, hiking, camping, cooking, baking, and anything else to distract me from the monotony and loneliness lol
I’m an older millennial and I bought a $600 E-Bike some 2 months ago. Best purchase ever. I can bike for hours with the pedal assist where on a normal bike I’d be out of gas 1/4 of the way. If you do gas out there’s a full auto mode. I’m seriously on it everyday the weather isn’t bad or I have plans.
Not all hobbies, but outside of work I enjoy travel, skiing, leisure reading, saving $ and doing my own manicures 💅, learning Portuguese, scouring my city for the best chai latte, weekend brunch with friends.
Disc golf, cars (detailing + moderate mechanical stuff + moderate restoration work), anime, and some gaming.
I’m currently reupholstering my vehicle’s seats to give myself a different wall to beat my head against vs. contract accounting.
Glad I’m not the only detailer/car person in accounting.
Looking at getting into color change wrapping as my self-inflicted hell to distract me from my job-inflicted hell.
Wrapping is another level, man, but the results are amazing. I’ve considered it for the roof of my hardtop convertible. You can do some seriously cool shit.
Photography and record collecting. Photography is relatively new in my life but it’s a great thing to do on the weekends and with friends. Also a big baseball and hockey fan so I’m never without a game to watch no matter what day of the week or time of year. When I can I also like to go see shows at the comedy cellar or other clubs in New York, or watch specials on Netflix. Hanging with friends is another big one that isn’t necessarily a hobby, but is instrumental to keeping my spirits up during the week.
At least you get out there. Always annoys me so much when people don’t come golf cause they suck. We just want to get some guys to hang out. Just enjoy it.
Right now I'm really into decorating my coming child's nursery.
I'm pretty sure my new hobby is going to be parenting, and it's going to consume most of my non-working waking hours.
Before the baby (I am 35) and hopefully after I adjust, I enjoy long walks at various parks with my two Labrador dogs, knitting, and reading (usually bestselling fiction)
Thanks man, I already passed BEC last year, took REG back in May, and am studying for FAR right now, hopefully I can get them all finished by the end of the year lol
I play FIFA/Football Manager and watch a lot of sports (especially soccer and combat sports). I also read a lot. Though, I’m trying to do more physical activity. Love going for walks and calisthenics - currently shopping around for a boxing gym and might pick up a jiu jitsu class. Also considering doing some skiing in winter.
Lots of reading, video games, gym. All of those really took off after I passed the CPA. Plenty of free time now and money to actually put towards the hobbies.
As you can guess from my username, anime is one of my hobbies. Surprised to see so many responses saying "anime" in this thread, more than I expected. I guess it's wise to hide your power level around the office, but seriously, where are you fucking cowards when I want to talk about what's airing this season??
I also like reading, cycling, hiking, swimming, video games (mainly retro these days), vintage computing, and skiing, although I don't get out on the slopes as often as I like. Good mix between indoor and outdoor. I used to be into watches and cars but I find my interest in these has waned as I became more interested in financial independence. Unusually for an accountant, I fucking hate golf.
Just an intern currently but with senior standing going into my last semester. Hobbies/Obsessions are magic the gathering, d&d, drawing, watercolor, woodworking, anime, cooking, baking, pottery, brewing mead, investing, budgeting, bowling, swing dancing, and rogue-like games (Hades series). Also unfortunately dating as I am still single 🥲
I’m interested in getting involved with bouldering/ gym because I’d like to improve myself and current friends already do it. Also golf since I feel like this is the sport of business and management so knowing/playing the sport would be beneficial career wise. Sewing as a hobby is also on my mind as I would like to sew my own clothing mostly pants as some business professional pants I like are bit out of my price range and often require custom fittings.
I am also aware most of these hobbies will falter as I enter the field but I won’t give up on them. I just need become a god of time management and be mindful that some will be sacrificed to cultivate my growth the accounting profession. Haha sometimes I feel like my life is excel file of how spend free time and money saved to improve myself, mental health, or future like shittier version of a game-based/cultivation manhwa. :P
Idk why I'm on the accounting subreddit as someone who runs a distribution center but I'm kinda thinking I'm in the wrong career with all the extra cash you guys seem to have lol
Music production, traveling, tech, fitness, little bit of gaming. Couldn't give a flying fuck about accounting tbh but it allows me to do the things I actually enjoy.
Archery, Badminton, Painting & Writing - honestly best advice I can give you is to make sure, once you start working, to give time to hobbies you want to do
I compete in bodybuilding shows yearly/bi-yearly so it consumes most of my free time.
I study Japanese in hopes I should pass my JLPT N2 This year and be certified to work for a Japanese company.
Honestly I’m 27, and these two hobbies have been with my since I became a uni student at 19.
Gaming and anime will take the remainder of my free time, save for when my partner wants to go to a cosplay con and forces me with her:)
I don’t know about public but I rarely work more than 40-45 hour weeks, so it’s given me the time to dig deeper into my passions.
Snowboarding, painting, traveling for food and wine, studying wine and art, watching anime, studying French and Japanese, making leather stuff, trying new restaurants and bars, may go back to flying planes and horseback riding (stopped due to COVID)
Travel (work in accounting for an airline=unlimited free flights), gaming, non-party pizza, the occasional anime, studying the blade (learning PowerQuery and keyboard shortcuts)
Gaming mostly on PC+Switch, anime, movies, watching Formula 1 and other motorsports in general, investing in my desk audiophile setup for music listening, investing in the market, credit card points for travel, cycling, running, and studying for CPA ☹️
I’m a 27 y/o staff accountant in healthcare.
Motorcycles, video games, anime, movies/tv shows, also alcohol lmao. Also I try to exercise when it’s convenient
Running, Lifting, Getting my CPA licencse, Trying to learn how to swim right now,
learning Chinese, Anime, Hanging out with friends.
After getting my license, will focus on photography.
Enjoying Life!
Oh man, so many things. For fitness I do boxing and long distance cycling. For crafts I also do a bit of 3D printing, gunpla model building, and I have lately been doing a lot of kandi beadwork. This segues perfectly into one of my biggest hobbies, attending live concerts, music festivals, and also some video game and anime cons. Of course I also watch a ton of anime and read a lot of manga on the side, read the occasional book, and even write poetry. I also spend a great deal of time with my girlfriend who sometimes joins me in my many hobbies. And finally, I like to spend at least an hour a day snuggling with my cat.
weightlifting, pottery, collecting vinyls/cds/cassettes, photography, gaming, gundams, fashion, weekend trips are starting this year lol looking to add tennis and more cardio 🙏🙏🙏
Hanging out with our daughter and the wife, Creating Amortization Schedules, buying German Vehicles, wrenching on said German vehicles, lawns, and baseball/football. Used to have motorcycles which I miss.
Just recently graduated and working! I finally feeling like I can have hobbies for the first time in years!! I joined a DnD group, Crochet, Hike, Movies, Catch local bands, started Bouldering. There's so much to do!! (I also don't have kids lol)
Building electronics. i.e. soldering & circuit boards & sensors etc. And programming.
Aside from it resulting in useful stuff I also enjoy the overarching dynamic: If it doesn't work...its because you fucked it up. And if it does work then its a legitimate all you victory. "Unforgiving" on both ends of spectrum with clear rules.
Working out and banging my wife
I wanna be like you when I grow up
Working out and banging this guys wife

What kinda legos
I'm deep into the rabbit hole. I have a number of sealed boxes I don't have the time/interest to put together after buying them. After awhile normal sets just got too boring for me.
