I did Vote! To be honest, I wouldn't mind a 3D Remake either. But they definitely need to update the Style, if another Port happens, since the Trilogy Style is now existing for 10 years.
I'm pretty sure they meant full-on remake this time. Ideally I'd love to see 3D style in the style of Arc System Works 2D fighting games (which are 3D, but look 2D). Look Dragon Ball FighterZ or Guilty Gear Strive.
Saying so would be fake news. They are only asking questions. And the question is "Which of the following games would you like to see remade using the newest technology". PW 1-3 is one of options, but there's also Okami, and dozen or so other options to vote on. This doesn't mean they will remake anything at all at this point.

I played the DS games back when they were being released (yes, I’m old). I’ve also played the PW Trilogy with the new graphics a few times. Honestly, I like both, for different reasons. The newer art is very crisp and vibrant, but has a tendency to lose details and personality from the old sprites. The old sprites have so much charm, character, and attention to detail, but can be muddy to look at on a big modern screen.
Both is good.
The original sprites are superior and also have more frames of animation. I've been playing the HD version, and some look alright but there's just a lot of character that feels lost in some poses and expressions. They just look cheap. The Apollo remaster looks so much better, there is no comparison.
I dunno if any of y’all have experience with Illustrator but the smooth sprites look exactly like when you hit the raster to vector conversion button and it weirds me out every time
The only look I haven't liked was the art work in the og Ace Attorney Trilogy remaster for the PC and then modern consoles. They were less animated and looked less detailed for the screen real estate vs the DS.
I think the Apollo Justice remaster was a big improvement in that respect.
I think I prefer the art/sprites over 3d. But the artists and programmers at Capcom still clearly put in a lot of effort into those models and animations and I love em. I'm not complaining
HD2D. It felt weird again to go from Apollo Justice remaster (with the updated 2D graphics) to Dual Destinies (with often awkward CG models).
Don't get me wrong, the crunchy old graphics are charming and somewhat nostalgic. But their existence is only because of the small GBA screen it originated on.
I've never really fucked with the pixilated ones since I started with the trilogy on 3DS. My first experience with the crunchy sprites was in AJ, when the Judge reused his old sprite and thus looked jarringly worse than everyone else in the game.

2D wise, the AJ HD Style is just marvelous and prefer it (honestly, I wish we would get AA1-3 in this Style), 3D wise, I prefer the TGAAC Style

Okami is fine as it is. What I want is a remake of Okamiden.
I like the smooth ones better, but they aren’t perfect. AJ did it the best though.

Handmade pixel art has more personality, but the HD sprites feel a bit grander and less claustrophobic.

I appreciate the pixels more. The drawn ones feel a bit too uncanny like Yeah we could do more but not gonna add in extra frames to make it smoother.

Old one. Leaves more for the imagination.
I prefer the crunchy graphics but they're pretty eye straining for me after a while (when playing in a bigger screen).

3DS trilogy. Mixture of both.
Pixel is a classic but tbh I loved the AJ HD the most. Would love if the games dropped 3D and just went with that instead
