> Good luck finding a jumbuck, I think.
TF are you talking about? They're all over the place, three times more than the number of people here.

I can't help but both laugh and be very concerned when people say feral based solely off colouring. My litter trained bunny looks exactly like the one pictured. I'm going to say likely feral based on where it was seen (they have rats the size of rabbits in there so actual bunnies wouldn't be surprising) but kudos to the OP for checking in case it's a pet!
Theyre an invasive species and compete with native wildlife for food and territory. Yes they're cute, but they are also destroying our Australian ecosystem
Looks like a wild (feral) rabbit to me, probably ventured into the Botanic Garden from along the Torrens linear park
Yup, feral — but this guy hasn’t wandered into the Gardens, they’re resident and has friends (with benefits).
Rabbits getting more game than me
Likely wild since it's grey. Most pets aren't. They're all over the place.
Must be Wabbit season
Duck season

Ka-blam. Got me again
Feral. They're all through every green space here, they're what feed the foxes.
Definitely a wild rabbit. Same kind you get out in the bush and on farms.
Looks like a feral one.
Great photos, what a cutie
awwwwwwwww pretty bunnnny
Yummy
Pest
Cute cute pest
I’m going with pest.
Bnuuy
Did you have your tuckerbag with you? I think you're culturally obliged to jump up and grab him with glee.
That's supposed to be a jumbuck, not a rabbit. Rabbits were feed for the depression era.
I know, but times are hard. Good luck finding a jumbuck, I think.

You tell me when you last saw a jumbuck in the city botanic gardens, which is where this person found the rabbit.
Fair enough. I misunderstood your meaning. My bad.
Pest
Cute pest
His name is Stew
I thought it was Mixy. Mixy Matosis.
Wrong continent. Here it would be Khaleesi Virus But the rabbits alive today developed an immunity to them, so they breed like rabbits.. oh wait ...
Ferals reference, I believe.
Eh? What is ferals?

Hrm I vaguely recall my little brother was into it. Thanks for the jogging of memory!
Not wrong continent, just a few decades out.
Free dinner 🤪

Pest, but good for the pot.

Dinner
Yup. Got a friend in the hills who nails them with a bow and ends up cooking a lot of them.
Imagine being downvoted for mentioning your friend legally culling and eating a pest animal. People here are cooked
It’s ridiculous. People are too sensitive these days
Good in a stew
Yep, taters, onions, carrots, celery, tomatos, and bits of bacon to stop the rabbit from drying out. theyre very lean
Our pet rabbit back in America was named Chester Hasenpfeffer. Rabbit is good eatin when prepared correctly.
Your friend is an arse and so are you for thinking this is okay
They are invasive animals and it’s perfectly legal

Pest… every time I see one of these I think of a 22.
So is it safe to eat them ? Nice fur and oh a lucky paw ?

It's not a hare. [Hares look like rabbits on meth.](https://inaturalist-open-data.s3.amazonaws.com/photos/1843520/original.jpg)
Pest, nothing a good old .22 bullet won’t sort out.
