Never really been interested in the panels, and apart from that, it's just massively overpriced merch and photos with C List nerdy celebs.
Bryce Papenbrook has a pretty decent anime voice acting career. He's a good fit for Avcon tbh

Wes Johnson's seems more fit for OzCC and Supernova. Those two cons also have a larger budget for their guest stars in comparison to Avcon.

I used to be a regular to all the Adelaide anime/pop culture conventions until they all started feeling a bit samey, I started getting bored. It was so exciting back in 2009 when they first moved to the Convention Centre from the old original location of the CBD Adelaide University along the River Torrens. Ye olde times.
This years is AVcon's first time at the Wayville Showgrounds. I don't know how much of the venue they are utilising, but at least there's a lot more car parking available. No more walking to & from the venue streets away for car parking in bulky or not cold weather friendy cosplay & costume props..
Back at the uni, would walk around for a hour, get bored, go watch a movie, maybe join a dumb game tournament like power stone. Lose badly. Go watch a another movie. Last day, everyone went to the cosplay final. Vibe never been the same since convention centre.
Going on Sunday, looking forward to the artist alley and hoping that I can find some merch of the show my kid loves. Haven't checked the schedule because I'll probably get FOMO for something happening today when I can't go lol
Just heading back now and there is a chance I may have plain missed something, but I didn’t catch anything that looked along the lines of that. Hopefully you can still find something to grab or one of the tablers may be able to give you recs!

What is the parking like in the surrounding areas?
I park on a small street on the south west corner of the Showgrounds which is empty most of the time. Haven’t checked the rest of the parking
