Usually when a person is trying to trade a valuable pet for "something" and keep declining it's a scam to get other people to overpay for "something" from their partner or alt.
There probably was an alt trying to trade preppy wear for overpay.
A likely possibility, but i didnt see anyone around saying they were trading preppy pet wear while also ignoring the girl. Everyone who had pet wear to trade just went up to her & sent a trade until she seem to have given up & left
