I don’t necessarily agree with the other comments. You told work that she died, and they told you to take the day off. I personally think it’s weird that they are asking for the funeral arrangements the day she supposedly died. If I were you, I would just say the funeral hasn’t been arranged yet, and then I would ask why they want to know her name. Either that or just not acknowledge it.
Also, what’s your job? A little context on what kinda employer you have would be useful.

You tell them that you don't have that information yet. Especially if it's in a different state, people will have to travel so making arrangements takes a little longer to make
