British - Nigerian Dele Sosimi played with Fela when he was a teenager. I was lucky enough to attend a couple of his Afrobeat Vibration clubnights in east London some years ago. He's released several albums. You might also check out Togo - French band called Vaudou Game the lead Peter Solo is the nephew of one of the founder members of the Orchestre Poly Rhythmo de Cotonou who were around same time as Fela and which you definitely check out... Then of course there's his two sons Fermi and Seun who have both released a number of albums and appear live from time to time. oh and finally check out BCUC from South Africa definitely a group to see live if you ever get the chance.
