Pro tip: You can buy socks on Amazon that add an inch to your height.

[deleted]

Don’t forget preparation H the night before with saran wrap around your waist the night before. Knocks a solid inch off your waist measurement.

Your_Skill_Issue

Wont they make you take your shoes off at the BCA/PT test? lol

That_Squirrel44

That why they said socks...

Ruinwarr

😂😂😂

Aspalar

I mean I feel like platform socks would be noticable without shoes on lol

SALTYdevilsADVOCATE

But is it against regs tho

DieHarderDaddy

Lose weight fat people

xboxcalbe

Already stopped eating. Down to 215. Only 60 more pounds to go

DieHarderDaddy

You can do it!!!

bobman5500

stonearchangel

Mantaraylurks

The last paragraph amped me up, I am am going on a run after my shift. (And eat some rice and tuna after)

Ruinwarr

Fucking positive reinforcement ftw!!!

obiwanshinobi900

Being 5'3 and getting old has never been more bullshit than before.

Your_Skill_Issue

They took 2 inches off me somehow at my last PT test and I failed the preliminary BCA.. I didnt know about where they got the height from until I got an email asking me to fill out the AF PT Failure form (they dont have a bca failure form) and it had my wrong height listed on there

Successful_Contact41

Only one block into the yellow at 280lbs. Tall boys up or whatever the youth say these days.

CollidingGalaxies

Every inch matters big man

Ruinwarr

Exactly what my ex-wife told me. /s

Narwhal_Buddy

Pro tip, slip the BCM monitor a $100$

Specialist-Brick-868

Just steal the tape they use the week of your measurement, then leave a fake one that’ll help you out somewhere noticeable but not too close

Additional-Diet-1190

Ozempic works wonders lads.

Your_Skill_Issue

It does, but there are fears that coming off ozempic might not be super healthy because it basically replaces a hormone your body uses to suppress appetite.. So when you roll off it, your body doesnt produce enough of the hormone so you basically just stay hungry all the time and regain weight.

CollidingGalaxies

Can you get that without a prescription, or out of network? Wild if so

Additional-Diet-1190

You will need a prescription. I dont want to advocate for using sites like tryeden that will get you set up.pretty easily.

Klutzy-Courage624

Is it gonna be an issue when things come up w your PCM? Didn't know we could get prescriptions for stuff outside of military medicine

asdfusaf

You can’t (without PCM approval…), that’s why he definitely does not recommend that site.

JustHanginInThere

Then why even mention the website? Congrats, you just enabled however many people to get it when they likely wouldn't have had a clue.

loafjunky

*whoosh*

hgaterms

Not too many flight docs willing to give this medicine out right meow.

Leggo-my-eggos

So glad im separating and don’t give a shit about any of this anymore!

Drewinator

My height has managed to vary across a few years of PT tests. Seemingly at random, they will decide I'm 3 inches shorter than I actually am but then next time around I'm back to my normal height.

N0T-OSI

What happens if your birth month is March and you’re deployed through March 2024? So when the 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024 freebie year ends and you never even had an initial “freebie” assessment, do you get hosed after your deployment exemption expires? Note: Not a fatty, but still curious.

CollidingGalaxies

You pretty much just do it when you are home station, get with your Body Comp manager and they may or may not be able to back date your measurement ;)

N0T-OSI

Thanks! What was basically the plan.

Just-Web-8995

You know what would be great? The DAFI that they said would be out last summer.. the one that defines possible admin actions and appeal processes... that'd be great.

meatpuppet_9

Dead hangs and preperation H with seran wrap people. Uncompress that spine so youre at your full height that morning and sweat out atleast an inch the night before.

grey_shirt_guy

I shrank an inch over the last two years. :(. I used to be 72" tall, now I'm 71".

Big_Chef7748

you can't get kicked out for having a gut. The AF is hurting for people so they can't exactly be picky.

miruolan

If my birth month passed for 2023 and I never had the body comp done, could I do it before April? Or just wait until birthday (summer) month and do it live?

rnd765

Hopefully there’s no profiles or waivers for being obese.

aviationeast

I fully expect it for critically manned cyber.

CollidingGalaxies

Hey bud, body comp manager as of last April here. That was a freebie, basically to get the force on board with the “new” program, and to give those who fail a years heads up to change what they need to. that is why I said official in the title.

JustHanginInThere

Tell me you didn't read [the memo](https://www.af.mil/Portals/1/documents/2023SAF/Tab_1._Air_Force_Body_Composition_Policy_Memo.pdf) (specifically the 2nd paragraph), without telling me you didn't read the memo.

JustHanginInThere

Did you read the rest of the sentence, or just stop there because you thought you managed a "gotcha" moment? I'll copy/paste it here since you can't make sense of this: >Implementation of the BCP for the Air Force starts on 1 April 2023, **with a one-year adaptation period**. Administrative actions are not authorized based solely on the results of BCAs assessed in the adaptation period. The initial recorded BCA is considered a “baseline assessment.” Tell me, how does one start a baseline of *anything* if you don't record it *somewhere*? Yes, we "started", but it was just a freebie so you know where you stand, and can adjust for next year (now) when, if you don't pass, the admin actions can start. You know, as it's **clearly stated** above.

CollidingGalaxies

Damn, you got that dog in you HanginInThere! thanks for the back up but you didn’t have to murder that poor guy like that! Lmao

loadshed

They are right. Yes, it's getting entered into the system this year. There will be no disciplinary actions for being high risk until after April 1st, 24. Typical tower, just have to be right under any circumstance.

JustHanginInThere

Did you miss the part where we *both* said they didn't officially count (no admin actions), because that's quite literally what the reg says? Holy shit, I specifically pointed it out to you and you keep fucking this up. Why are you the way that you are? I hope you aren't this shitty at reading regs for your job.

johncakenburger

Time to eat my way to freedom!
