Thinking about those without power. Sucky situation. DT ALB never lost power, as far as I know. Well, I’m doing fine on Sheridan Ave.

pdrace

The lack of trees downtown probably helps.

E51838

Also I think a lot of the power lines are underground.

princesselectra

Also I have noticed a lot of tree maintenance lately so perhaps they are being proactive? They came and both trimmed my huge tree in front and then came and got a large dead branch.

Nosyjtwm

Due NYS Buildings downtown Albany they have secondary system that backs up their primary system. They will literally fail safe. Downtown Schenectady is similar possibly due to GE presence?

vgnberri

No power since 6pm yesterday, our apartment is freezing, no backup generator from our complex, gonna have to drive 4 hours to my parents house if our power isn’t restored some time today 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃

chunlife

Still no power in Guilderland. It went out around 8:45 last night. Edit: 12:40 PM power is still out but I can see six NG bucket trucks from my house. There's like one at each electric pole. Edit: 1:30 PM Power is back! Wooooooo

Most_Health_9641

I’m in guilderland too and ours went out 4pm yesterday, so it’s been a long time. Finally packing up this morning to head over to my moms in Schenectady bc it’s too cold in house now and can’t eat or do anything… I was hoping it would come on in the night but nope..

sensfan1104

Ah yup.  Down in Guilderland since a bit before 4:30 pm.  Forlornly refreshing that outage map periodically since then.  About to go generate some heat trying to get whatever's on the car and end of the driveway, off.

lonesomefish

Still out in altamont i think—since 7:37 AM (03-24-24) according to my security system. EDIT: back online since 11:33 AM (03-25-24)

mclen

More importantly: what bar are we all meeting at

spallaxo

I'm negative in my checking account lol I ain't going anywhere

memkc

One that had brunch I'm starving and have no power to cook or make coffee.

mclen

Oh shit should we be the old dudes at Stewart's that sit and drink coffee and complain about the world

ehjayded

this should be next r/albany meetup

ayumistudies

In Delmar, still no power, lost it around 4:00 PM yesterday :( Edit: We just got it back around 11:45 today. Fingers crossed it stays that way, lol.

sanslumiere

Lost in Slingerlamds at 345 yesterday and nothing here either. The number of outages left on the map is not encouraging.

dumbass_paladin

Also delmar, still no power for me either

grundle18

Delmar lost at 1am - still not on. 58 degrees is not a fun inside temp

dumbass_paladin

Fortunately they have a few warming stations set up. One at the town hall, and two more at two different Selkirk fire stations

grundle18

Great to know - worst case we’ll head to my parents house down the tway. Deff concerned for the older population

dumbass_paladin

I hope at least some people have generators

Lazybunny_

It’s 46 inside for me 😭

wa_geng

Albany here. Still have power, although there were several deep flickers followed by some booming noises. Internet went out around 10 pm and is still out. Using cell data for now. Driveway and streets are a sheet of ice so I think I will be staying put.

Connect_Glass4036

Albany High area, we had 2 flickers but never lost internet. That’s weird for you :\

[deleted]

[удалено]

Connect_Glass4036

Yeah I’ve been here about 5 years…. It’s happened maybe once? I can’t even remember haha

tylersmithmedia

I had flickers too near Campus Acesess and only had the router drop internet because of the brief flicker

kairosdes

Really hoping my power comes back on soon.. I’m cold & hungry and my phones gonna die soon lol

UseronRedditDotCom

I feel you! The only reason I can use my phone right now is because I dredged up a semi-charged powerbank from a trip I went on in January. That charge is running out now too, RIP

kairosdes

Same🥲🥲

sanslumiere

My powerbank is worth every penny I paid for it. Bought it for a music festival a few years ago, but it gets way more action during these outages.

blizzardworld05

EG library open 1-5 for charging station

Jerry-Mandarin

a lot of outages in that area. unfortunately, the library may not be able to open.

blizzardworld05

good news!

kairosdes

Where I grew up we would lose power all the time but I was little & had parents to take care of me. Now I live alone here hours away from them😂 heading to my car to charge my phone in a min

twb85

Man I feel for you all. Never lost power in Schenectady.. I know everyone wants it back ASAP, but just have sympathy for the guys at national grid working outside in this. My dad was a lineman and knew how tough overnights in storms were for him.

Material-Agency-3896

You are right! It’s not easy working under these conditions! Hope they are paid well!

Noahsmokeshack

Oh trust me, they are well compensated for this. The bucket trucks that sit there waiting… it’s double time.

Material-Agency-3896

As long as my bills are paying for the hardworking linesman and not some fat cat administrators!

twb85

Eh, you know how it goes. Little bit of both.

DadBodofanAmerican

Don't want to tempt fate, but this is the first big storm in a while that I've kept power during in Delmar. Maybe the other storms just took down all the trees by the power lines already.

UseronRedditDotCom

Still no power in my part of Albany! Definitely on the cold and hungry end of the spectrum right now, haha. Hope it comes back for everyone soon!

Moofabulousss

In North Greenbush close to Troy border. We have power but internet has been out since yesterday afternoon. You’d think it was the end of times if you ask my 5 year old. She learned what a Blu-ray Disc was last night. My dog is loving the snow.

jnflower

Still out in my part of Albany - went out around 430 pm yesterday. Thankful for the pile of pets I have keeping me warm!

MerryPranker

Definitely a Three Dog Night! :-) Hope you get power restoration soon!

sailaway_NY

I have an amazing story. I had to leave my house for a legitimate reason. Shoveled out the car, drove carefully, etc. Unfortunately I backed into a brick wall trying to turn around and got a nasty dent in my bumper. Cried. Did my errand and came back two hours later. Dent was gone. So either a kind Samaritan fixed my bumper or this weather is good for something. Stay safe out there folks.

kairosdes

Awh!! I’m relieved for you

mclen

No power where I am in Guilderland. Went out at 4:15pm yesterday

faceoh

Delmar here. Had power through at least part of the night and lost somewhere around or before 5am. Unfortunately I didn't charge any devices. Bed is nice and comfy but I was ready to play on the computer all day.

Monstera_undertow

Ours came back on middle of the night, Troy eastside

jeujes

We never lost it where I am in Guilderland, national grid sent me a bunch of texts, I guess we bordered outages and they seemed to think ours was out too. The lights were flickering like crazy and I had to turn them all off cause my anxiety was going nuts about what to do with our baby if the heat went out.

acbuglife

Same. My lights flickered a few times, but power never went out. Plenty of trees left to fall down, though, so don't lose hope! (/s)

Environmental-Low792

Same here, bordering Guilderland. Power flickered a few times, and I watched as a large branch bounced off the primaries and blocked the road. I tried to move it, and could barely pivot it. Then, a plow came through, and probably didn't even notice it. National Grid thinks that our whole area is out.

TwatkinsGlen

East Greenbush PD posted that National Grid is giving a 1-3 day restoration time as of 20 minutes ago.

kairosdes

gonna cry

sammyluvsya

In east greenbush too and no power since 3pm yesterday. My MIL lives in downtown Albany so we may head that way soon cause we’re starting to get a bit chilly

pixie_chick09

As I was making an attempt at snow removal I could hear huge branches breaking and falling my my neighbor’s way back yard, a bunch of 100+ year old trees. It was alarming. Related aside: this brought back memories of the ice storm of ‘91 which was a catastrophe in the western part of the state (where I was in my last year of college). We lost power for 3 days, and as college students we immediately settled in for a weekend of drinking accompanied by clothing removal. It was a blast!

sanslumiere

I was a kid during the ice storm of 91 and still remember needing to move in with my aunt and uncle for a while while we waited out power restoration. This reminds me a lot of that.

[deleted]

Didn’t lose power at my house in Schenectady … but according to National Grid’s power outage map my whole block is out of power. I now wonder what those maps are based on, and how my neighbors are doing.

daedalusesq

Their maps are kind of impressive. I got to tour their distribution control room for this area through my work. They have an automated system that takes the phone-in reports and the internet self-reported outages and compares them to the known network topology. As reports come in they flag individual reporter's homes as outages unless they already have evidence of a problem further up the network or a threshold for that circuit is met. Once a threshold is met for a geographic area it will try and calculate the "common point" location on the network. This allows them to start at that common point and then work back towards the substation or transformer to find the fault. This works great for normal outages where it's usually a single-point failure. Unfortunately with an ice storm like this the reality isn't that there was a single fault. It's more likely that its hundreds to thousands of failures often quite close to people's homes. So basically, their system is drawing these big blobs over neighborhoods and towns as if they are a singular outage, but it isn't a matter of verifying the common-point back to a known good point and fixing a single point problem to restore all the people at once like normal. Instead, it's a matter of start at that common point of failure (which is probably fine in these instances) and working towards the *houses* fixing large volumes of individual problems as they find them. They have to follow every individual branch down to every individual reported outage which is way more time consuming then just following a line back to it's station or field transformer. As an example, if I zoom in on my block, there is a blob over an area of around 3 streets including my own entire street and two cross streets. Within that blob are 4-5 individual homes with outages marked on them, but we never lost power in our house and I can see power on in most of my neighbors homes. This means my block and the cross streets probably had enough outages reported for the system to calculate it as our neighborhood transformer as the failure point, but with this type of storm the reality is probably that a few neighbors had trees pull down their service lines from the pole to their houses. When they verify our local transformer is energized, the "bubble" over my neighborhood should disappear and the single outage "affecting 60 people" will become 4-5 outages affecting 1 household each.

[deleted]

Whoa! Thanks for the comment. You are good and thorough. This is really interesting and puts into perspective why recovering from storms like these is such painstaking work!

SweaterZach

Lot of people are gathering at Alias to charge phones and warm up with coffee. Plenty of seating, if you need a place to get your electronics in order.

Material-Agency-3896

I read plenty of stealing and got mad! And then read seating and was happy! What a roller coaster of emotions 😂

[deleted]

Power off Hoosick went out about 2p yesterday, restored about 6p. Was coming back from getting groceries and saw the traffic lights out, figured a friend had lost power so i picked them up on the way home, offering them heat and a meal. Then we got back and found we didn't have power either, whoops. But it was nice hanging out for a while, curled up under blankets. Did make me realize my boardgame collection is lacking tho lol. After dinner brought them back around 8p, the snow had stopped but fuck were the roads bad. A 2min drive was 10min easy

wavethatflag44

No power yet in Selkirk (since 2pm yesterday) but they finally plowed the road and the sun is shining!

tehsuck

Up the road in Glenmont and same, power went out yesterday around 4pm.

AmmoWasted

Out in Latham since around 3pm yesterday. Downed trees everywhere.

wellactuallyj

Also in Latham (obviously a different part) and we came back on around 1:30am

[deleted]

PhillipJCoulson

Mckownville. No power since 2pm yesterday.

[deleted]

Environmental-Low792

They were expecting this one, and prepositioned crews and equipment, and the weather is decent now. I would expect full restoration within 24 hours.

phate_exe

We lost power just after 3pm yesterday in Delmar, it's still out and I'm getting ready to clear some large branches that came down. Fortunately none hit the house or cars this time.

kairosdes

Hey guys, I’m at the EG Town Hall & a cop just came in and said NG told him it could be 7 days without power. They have employees from Ohio working nonstop, and some employees haven’t slept at all. It does seem like they’re really trying their best.

Jerry-Mandarin

holy cow. I seriously hope that turns out to be a huge overestimation. Will they start comping people for hotel rooms?? how do you even handle an outage that long

cloakedgeek

Been without power since about 5pm. Off S. Manning near St Peter's.

MerryPranker

Upper Wash Ave got power restored around 9:30 PM. National Grid for the win!

kairosdes

Jealous lol

MerryPranker

Ugh, so sorry. Brutal storm made for trecherous conditions. But you know that.

MajorWhereas4842

In GUILDERLAND mine is back thankfully!

sanslumiere

When did it go out/come back?

MajorWhereas4842

It went out yesterday afternoon it must have been restored at 10:30pm

GhostofHyuga

Im also in guilderland. Havent had power since around 6pm yesterday. Charged all phones and portable chargers in my car yesterday. Hopefully not too much longer

IngridOB

The power has been back on since around 7 last night in Watervliet. We have a generator anyway so it wasn't too bad.

pdrace

Still out on s manning since yesterday at 5:30 pm. I wish NG would provide some information on how long they think this is going to take even if it’s days so we can plan accordingly. To be determined isn’t very helpful. My 99 year old MIL with no heat isn’t a good situation.

Material-Agency-3896

Sending her my very best! Hope her power is restored soon!

pdrace

Power just came back 10 minutes ago. Of course it did after I spent 300$ on a kerosene heater for my MIL. Lol

Material-Agency-3896

So glad to hear the power is back up for her!

BuffaloWilliamses

Power still out in Guilderland where I'm at. Not optimistic it will be back anytime soon. This experience definitely has convinced me to invest in a generator. Edit: Power just came back around 1 PM so all in all was without power for about 21 hours.

Infinite-Profile5974

No power at Crossgates Mall just in case anyone is thinking of spending time outside the house

sailaway_NY

That sucks

telb

No power in Delmar. Thankfully my switch is charged and it’s a beautiful day on my AC island 😭

Acceptable-Slice-677

Power just came back on upper New Scotland Avenue in Albany. We may have cheered.

earthscorners

Power came back on in my South Troy church in a dramatic moment just as everyone was processing in with the palms (I shall forever remember this as the Palm Sunday ice storm) — I hope the rest of Troy is back, too! 🤞

p2thaov

Seems like they have not done shit for Bethlehem. There were 13,000 without power in Bethlehem last night, and there are 13,000 without power this morning.

BHK3

It's gotten worse since yesterday evening. My outage block was 2300+ now it's 2600+. Also this was at 37k last night now it's 41k: https://poweroutage.us/area/county/787

VIPeach-

There were 90,000 people without power. They can’t all be fixed at once.

filopodia

I’m in N Bethlehem and they got this part of town up and humming late last night. We’re near the fire station so maybe they were prioritizing this area? Hope you get your power back soon

WhileExtension6777

We're good by white hall road.

bubblegumfudge

My power went out for a few seconds twice yesterday but since then I have been okay. I’m in Troy. I hope everyone’s power comes back on soon. This is awful :/

MirkatteWorld

Our power came back last night as I was getting ready for bed....

Khayeth

Hoffman Park area here, never lost power, though I did bring in firewood preemptively. About to head out with spade, shovel, ice pick, and axe to get the sidewalk in livable condition.

philosopherme0

No power in my slice of Albany since 6 PM last night :)

notsodarling786

I live close enough to National Grid’s Albany offices to have some of their traffic go by me. There were a lot of bucket trucks driving by yesterday, and there have been a lot of bucket trucks out this morning. It’s both actual National Grid trucks and other (I assume out of state) trucks

drsoos1973

BenjaminSkanklin

Restored in Vliet around 9 pm, we were one of the first out and got a local crew on it right away, still took them about 6 hours to square away whatever went wrong.

blizzardworld05

Also in east greenbush, been out since 5:30 last night.

ada_c03

Colonie here, power went out at 3:30pm yesterday and came back at 1:30am. It went off and came back on twice in the early morning, but appears steady (for now…)

spallaxo

Still no power in my part of Selkirk. The outage map is still on "assessing condition" so I'm assuming there's much trees and ice and snow in the way and such I'm at 18% on my phone so at some point soon, I'll just idle my car and charge my phone

Calm_Challenge_7768

S. Colonie here. Power is back on finally. Have to get ready to go out and shovel soon. Hoping everyone gets power restored soon!!

Avidquestioner12

Damn I lost power in Watervliet yesterday around noon and it was back on by 1

theatregirl1987

Thankful to have power in the Pine Bush, especially since we were without for 12 hours on Monday. My parents in Whitehall Station are not as lucky. They are looking in to getting a hotel. They can't come to me because my dad is allergic to my cats.

Bunnie_Walnuts

I briefly lost power in Cohoes yesterday but it came back. National grid texted me today that there were outages reported around me though I’m worried about it losing it. During that crazy wind storm a few weeks ago, I lost power for 9 hours so I’m scared of that happening again

amknizek17

No power in Delmar, house is at 49 and our basement is flooding 👍🏻

PrivateEnis

Same in my Delmar apt. Don't know about our basement or temp (don't have access) but it's been out since 3pm yesterday.

stevethetrex

Same here sunk pump isn’t running and basement is flooding. Still no ETA from National Grid.

Minky_Momo_

Right in between Halfmoon and CP here. CP has lots of power outages, Halfmoon a little less. We're lucky we just lost power for a brief time last night. If your in CP and headed out call wherever you're going. Some businesses don't have power still.

anne__miller

Almost 24 hours without power but we were able to get a generator going this morning, so we’re warm and the fridge is on. Just hoping it’s not like the ice storm in 2008. We were without power for days after that storm. Hard to guess because National Grid still says estimated restoration is TBD and to check back in 15 minutes.

justspittinthefacts

I remember that ice storm vividly. 8 days without power, basement flooding every day because no power = no pump . Fire department came everyday to pump my basement out. I feel bad for anyone still without power right now.

anne__miller

Now it’s projected to be on by late tomorrow night. So better than 2008 - I believe that was six days but still not fun. Luckily my dog loves the cold… not like my poor fish that died in the 2008 storm.

QueBestia19

Voorheesville: no power since 7pm. Pretty chilly, but tolerable. I think National Grid was caught with its pants down on this storm!

allennathan

Also cold and hungry. Wouldn’t mind spending the day at cross gates provided it’s opening today. Anyone have any idea?

MerryPranker

Open from 11 - 6 today, Sunday. Not seeing any alternate hours posted to their website, so thinking it's a go.

katbreit

Not sure about now but according to Mall security as of 2 hours ago they are also without power with no ETA. Went off around 8:30 PM last night

calamity_child

OK just off Lark.  Lights did flicker a few times last night which is pretty rare in my experience.  Not looking forward to having to shovel and hoping the walk to work won’t be too bad tomorrow morning.

Oneheckofanight

We ( Delmar) are fortunate to have power, but the internet is down - is anyone else having trouble with Spectrum?

kairosdes

I think almost everyone is tbh

FoolishTimes

I was out for only 2 hours. Had 8 others stay here last night. good time. Everyone is leaving, most still without power, but always welcomed back. Shitty situation. Trees down everywhere.

BoopsYourNoseBoop

In Colonie visiting my friend, his power never went out and the snow made me sleepy so I've mostly been in bed reading. I'm not sure if the roads will be serviceable enough to drive home in a coup with summer tires, so we'll see if I'm here for another day.

Thin-Bill4533

A bright sunny morning but cold as hell in Batavia New York

SoulNTheSun

Been fine over here in Cohoes. I still can't believe some are without power that's horrible.

shhwest

No power here, but one block from me has power. 20 hours and counting! Slept like poop last night with no heat.

AssociateMedical1835

Power was off for an hour or 2 in Heritage Village in Guilderland. Went to Stewart's for something for my son to eat and it was back in when we got home.

splatbob1

Still no power, indoor temp is now 52…

Kitchen-Top7044

Anyone see NG crews in EG? I'm in Hampton Manor area, lost both power and WFi yesterday at 4ish. I'm wondering if they are still cleaning up the downed wires and trees, or if they're able to start repairs. I was shoveling last night and could hear branches coming down, it was pretty eerie in the otherwise silent night.

kairosdes

I just drove from my apartment to target and I didn’t see national grid along the way. The EG Town Hall & Public Library are open for warming stations/charging stations!

AKittyCat

I'm in HM too and I've seen nothing

Kitchen-Top7044

I can hear crew trucks working up by Hampton and Eastern, and another just went up Hampton. Bowling ally is open in EG if anyone is looking for something to do

Emergency-Banana3538

Estimated restoration for my house is 11pm... Tomorrow. More than two days with no heat, no power

Aggressive-Panic-719

Glad we have this community. Hope everyone’s power is back on by now and you are all warm and safe God bless

elliotsilvestri

9:30 my power came back on. Internal house temp got down to 52 degrees.

sickerthan_yaaverage

my place in Troy still no power according to national grid it’s gonna be another 24 hours. It’s crazy because if you go to the neighbors house it’s a little ways down they have power where I am doesn’t. It’s about 40° in there. Hoping you all are staying warm .

PrivateEnis

Still no power here. Estimate says 11pm tonight. Would love to not have to sleep in the cold again. While it is nice being snuggled by 3 cats, one is very sick and needs to eat every 3 or 4 hours. Those are very cold trips to feed my little fur baby! We did buy a portable propane heater (the last one at the store) so we have some ways of warming up at night. Hope everyone is managing ok. 💜

PrivateEnis

Came back from my wife's infusion and we have power!!!!!! OMG! Thank you to all the National Grid workers for getting this done. I can't imagine what you all are dealing with. Hope everyone gets power back soon!

joeroganis5foot4

my thermostat says 51 so i'm concerned if this goes on for longer 🥶 bought a whole bunch of groceries yesterday AM that i will prob have to throw out

mpls_sublet_q

It's cold enough outside that your perishables would definitely be safe out there.

blimblamtheflimflam

But use a cooler if you have one to keep things safe -- squirrels ate my ravioli!

Material-Agency-3896

Oh no! We were planning to just keep our groceries out in bags, but thankfully we changed our mind and kept it in the car trunk that has been parked outside! 😂

Material-Agency-3896

Why aren’t electric lines underground in this region like many countries in Western Europe?

BHK3

No power since 4:30pm yesterday, off Western in Albany.  This is the longest blackout I've experienced in my life. Over 4 inches of snow in my area so I'm a little ticked off and confused on how 50k+ people could be without power in the state right now. I see praise for national grid but I'm wondering how a winter with 1 singular storm in it up until yesterday caused such a problem.

AlexJamesFitz

I feel for you, but it's not the snow, it's the snow on top of all the ice we got. So many downed trees out there took power lines with them.

sensfan1104

Yep.  Heard few branches coming down till the snow and wind came back.  Rapidly descended into turmoil after that.

daedalusesq

I've lived here for almost 40 years. This is the 4th ice storm I've experienced. I think the last one was December 2008. I'm sure you noticed how beautiful all the trees look... Well, all that ice that clings and builds up gets much heavier than the normal snow (which often falls of from wind anyway). It's why bigger storms with deeper snow don't seem to cause problems but this one did. All that ice builds up on branches and trees and can pull down ones that wouldn't normally be identified as risks in trimming season. The scale of trees that fall compared to a regular storm is just astronomical. Plus the power lines themselves get coated and eventually get pulled down from the weight. Towers and poles can fall too.

memkc

No power since 4pm yesterday, Bishop's Gate neighborhood in Albany. My parents and sister are in Latham and they've been without power since 9:30 last night.

sonicmaestro

Waterford near the school. Still out of power for 18+ hours now. (Not like I'm counting or anything)

Sea-Departure6059

Down by the locks and same. At least I have a couple of dogs here for some warmth!

Makaylaaa_00

In north greenbush, power has been out since 3pm yesterday

Material-Agency-3896

Out since 2 pm yesterday! On Shaker road close to Northern Blvd! Just hoping that it’s back on today, but not too hopeful!

cotsomewhereintime

Power in 'Vliet.

Happy_Armadillo8201

We are good by St Rose I work near UAlbany, and everyone around us didn't have power last night. Hoping everyone up there is ok!

Crash-55

Never lost power. A friends family (including rabbit) came and stayed the night as they were without power till early this morning

clowntysheriff

According to national grid we shouldn't have power but we do. Across the street from HVCC

OsageOrangeARC

Still down in Niskayuna near Latham border. TBD since last evening. Thankfully we burn coal and gas. Huge carbon footprint keeping us sane. Electric car to charge phones.

BoyTrapBabydoll

Been without power thirteen hours now. Phones at 16% sos 😭😂

cutecuddlyevil

No power in the Sunset Hills neighborhood going ~21hrs now, have generator running, Spectrum is down but Verizon is up. Still keeping an eye on the trees. Roads largely clear, icy this morning but improving.

cutecuddlyevil

We got power at 12:30, Spectrum kicked back on about 5 mins later.

StrdyCheeseBrngCrckr

Power still out in Albany. No estimated time of restore yet.

ChampagnePalomino

Does anyone have a contact at Nat Grid on when restoration might be? EGPD said 1-3 days but I’m not seeing that anywhere else so wondering how accurate.

kairosdes

No idea. My landlord did say that it could be 1-3 days as well

FrankiesaysNY

No power since 3:20 pm here yesterday eastside Troy

WheresTheMoozadell

Still no power in Waterford/Halfmoon, lost it around 3:00 PM yesterday. Food in the fridge is spoiled, freezer stuff as well. I’ve heard rumors power isn’t expected to be restored for 1-3 days from now. Anyone else hear anything?

kairosdes

I’m at EG Town Hall, they’re saying 1-3 days too. Thankfully my freezer is still good, but my fridge is slowly warming up so I might put my perishables on my balcony in the sbow

I’m in EG too, no power for me yet. I’m supposed to pick up a friend in Clifton Park and head to the Fall Out Boy concert at MVP tonight, although I’m expecting to find out that’s cancelled as soon as we pay for parking.

Back on in Selkirk after about 26 hours.

Luckily downtown seems to still be in good shape. I grew up on the other side of the river and apparently everyone’s lost power over there.

I hope if anyone had to travel, they got to where they needed to go without issue.

Just some thoughts,      You can charge your phone from a laptop or in your car.      If you really need "wifi" most phones have a hotspot option, you can turn that on and connect anything to it for internet, laptop, streaming device, whatever. If streaming video you might need to worry about data caps, if checking work email you are fine.

We got power back after about 13 hours. We’re lucky to have had our pilot light on in our propane fireplace. I hope everyone still without power gets it back soon!!
