All this is really common. Has she seen a neurologist? Does she see her regular doc? There are some drugs that will sometimes help but it is trial and error. Try some Ensure for nutrition and some fiber gummies to help get her regular BMs. It's a hard road.

Thank you. She hasn't visited her doc in a while. She's doing this feces analysis thing tommorrow. I'll take that point in mind.

This sounds a lot like my mother - sleeping during the day and then waking up and not knowing what day or time it is. She always thinks she has more than one cat and seems to always believe she lives in a different house. She's 78 this year and it's been tough to deal with all of this. She was diagnosed last September. All I can say is I can relate to the confusion and helpless feelings you have dealing with all of this but it does seem to be very normal with this disease.

My grandmother also thinks she's living in a different house! She asked me if I remembered when I went with her and saw bears but that event was before I was even born. She thinks the people at the TV are actually in her house.

Also, the doc might suggest getting her on something Iike lexipro which can help with the mood swings and the anxiety.
