I got a swag bag full of snacks and a Liquid Death Tea. A lady also gave me a bag of puppy chow Chex mix, I gave it away because I have a weird thing about eating people’s food that I don’t know, but it was a nice gesture. But I didn’t get any green backs tho.
one time an old lady caught me delivering to her door and came out with a cookie in a paper towel and asked if i wanted it, i said "sure, thanks", and she said "just know it's really spicy" and she laughed that off and closed the door. she had pepper plants in her front yard but i thought she mustve been joking. i took a bite in the van and didn't taste anything but chocolate chip cookie, then a took another bite and my mouth was covered in jalepeño for some reason. to be fair she did warn me
Yesterday? I got a Frappucino from my 3rd to last stop. Could have grabbed all three but I'm fat. The day before? One lady gave me a gift bag with chocolates and a $50 bill, and another lady gave me a $10 Starbucks card.
tips…? what are tips? 🤣 I have never gotten a tip working for amazon I think one christmas time 2 years ago i got a Mcdonald’s gift card for $15 ( which was great don’t get me wrong ) but that’s it
I know that sounds crazy, but when you start to count on making a certain amount, it’s tough to go back.
Also, we got virtually no OT this year even though we did close to double the volume of the last 2 years.
I’ve been there 10 years so I have a good idea of what I should make during peak season. So when it ends up being $5k less than that, in a year where I already took a $5k hit in salary, it’s tough. I was counting on peak season and it failed me for the first time in a decade.
It’s not, when as I’ve said, I have a decade of data to support my expectations. Don’t take it personal, but I get to know my customers a lot better than the average Amazon worker. They’ve been seeing my face pretty much 6 days a week for the past 3 years.
I don’t get paid hourly. And I took a $5k salary cut this year. Some people lost $20k off their annual salary. Seems like something a lot of people would be upset about.
$500 a night in tips for what span of time? The week leading up to Christmas?
Not sure if you’re trolling. I wasn’t being unreasonable in what I said. And plenty of city carriers are making $500 a night (over a short span). I know carriers that have made $6-7k in Christmas tips.
A Friendly customer was bbqing some Pig Poppers and i normally dont like jalapenos but he insisted and it was fire! Hopefully i deliver to him again next year!
I probably would’ve got tips yesterday if they’d put me in my normal rich golf course community, but for some reason I was in the boonies so all I got was a Gatorade a water and two cookies 😭
I got a fucking chocolate bar and I don't even eat chocolate. Fuck these customers. I did get almost 30 thank your driver the last 2 weeks though so thar was nice.

Tips sucked this year as a mailman. This was my 3rd year on my route. $1200 the first year, $2600 last year, and only $800 this year.

Zero!! Last year I made out like a bandit. This year I just got one $5 tip on Friday.
No tips but I got a $1 raise and guaranteed gap pay. Felt good getting done in 6 hours w/o taking breaks to get outta there.
