i had a similar situation and i was so worried i did call a welfare check. got a call the next morning from a cop telling me the customer was on vacation but continued to order Amazon. not a really safe practice as their house was on a road but 🤷♀️
I don't understand cuz it's not like you can't choose delivery date. Like leave that shit in your cart and check it out when you get closer to being home so it shows up when you're home. That's what I'd do. I don't trust people not to steal my shit.

My girlfriend has become this person and it’s nuts. We get a package or two every other day. I’m losing my fucking mind at the amount of just shit that we’re starting to own that we don’t need. One time use items like the shit I used to see on overnight infomercials, someone help me, I’m drowning in consumerism.
Oh 🤣 I don't do that though. If I have a lot to order, I'll space it out so it doesn't all get processed at once. Multiple orders, spaced over multiple days. I'll choose different delivery days. Whatever spaces it out.
Cuz not only do I not want my driver delivering a ton at once, I also don't want to deal with a ton of packages at once. That shits stressful.
There’s also an option to have the Amazon delivery driver to leave packages in the garage using the phone to open the door. I don’t like that someone can just open my garage door but usually there were security cameras in garages I delivered to this way. Had one house where whoever set up the delivery method this way didn’t communicate this to their teenage son who was confused about why an Amazon guy was in their garage
Sometimes Amazon says it’ll be 5 days so I order something I need while out of town and then it comes in 2 and just sits in my doorway for three days. At least I live in an apartment building and nobody has taken my stuff.
That's exactly what it is with some of these people. It's like a compulsion for them and they don't even care about what they ordered enough to even bring it in the house
I arrived at a farm with instructions to leave in the “RED” barn. There were several and far apart. All of a sudden this pickup came racing into the driveway. It was the customer’s son who had seen me over a camera. Initially screaming at me, what the heck am I doing here blah blah. Turned out his mother was on an Alaskan cruise. He had no idea why she was ordering Amazon 😂. He calmed down and I was able to buy 3 dozen fresh eggs from him 👍🏼

I work at a place that has mailboxes, and we regularly have Amazon packages pile up for months while some of our wealthier clients are out of the country on vacation. 5-10 a day
As a paramedic, this can also happen if someone is unexpectedly hospitalized. You don't have to be a senior to have an unexpected emergency that requires a week or more in the hospital.
I would definitely request a welfare check if the neighbors haven't already.
When I was delivering for a meal prep company, one of the addresses I went to a few times was this hoarder family, mother and daughter. Each time, police and medics were there just in case. The place looked like it was about to collapse

One year i had a distressing package delivery situation happen to me at Christmas time.
Someone got the address wrong and sent all their packages to me. It was so so so many. And it wasn’t just in one day it was like a few weeks worth of multiple deliveries
I was pretty overwhelmed at the time but it’s funny to remember
I’d check the dates on the packages closest to the door, if it’s been there more than a week then I’d probably call. The customer through the app first, then a check if no response.
I’ve thought about doing that too once before. They only had like 4 packages though but it was from multiple different delivery days so I got concerned because I was in a mainly elderly type neighborhood
Bad odor and uncollected packages always means call. Best case, someone is having a bad week and needs help cleaning. Worst case is more likely and why you call
I have a neighbor who gets this many parcels a day. She’s a reseller though and has run out of storage room in her garage so she just lets it spill out onto the yard. It’s irksome.
Maybe, but the well maintained yard makes me think otherwise. The front of my house was not quite this bad but not far off, when I was moving from California to Iowa and in the last days before my flight, I was ordering stuff ahead for the new house, so I could be working on that while I waited a week and a half for the moving container with all my shit to get there. I'm not suggesting that's the case here. I'm just saying there are scenarios other than a hoarder or someone dead in their recliner, that can lead to this.
I just had to replace 90% of what my family owns due to a flood and mold damage. My porch looked like this every day for a week and we all know that Amazon can split an order of 10 items into 10 boxes.
Yes please call for a welfare check. Someone could have fallen or had a medical emergency. It does seem weird this level of packages being subscription orders but it’s possible.
I haven't had one this bad, but I contacted my DSP and they said they would notify Amazon. Mind you though that house was only like 6 packages and 3 days worth.

If I saw something like that I would call a welfare check at the address. It could also be some sort of fraud. Someone gains access to an individuals account and orders a bunch of stuff to a random address that's an empty house. They pick up the packages before Amazon or the account owner realizes.
If you're asking, it's time to call. It's in good faith and with physical evidence you have reason for concern. Those are the general requirements for welfare calls in the states. Evidence there could be an issue, and calling in good faith (not to be a jerk).
I had a house on my route earlier this week where they were receiving business packages to their home, but they had been there so long that they had gotten water damage from the rain earlier *this year* and had cobwebs covering them from top to bottom. Also the grass was not just dried out but outright missing, and the front of home hadn't seen a broom in a while. Thought about calling for a welfare check but figured it would be a bit cringey.
Could you imagine coming home from vacation, and having to carry in 75 packages PLUS All your luggage from your trip?? If my wife pulled that stunt, I grab MY luggage and tell her to load the packages and take her AND her purchases to her mothers 😂😂😂

I know of a trailer out in the country that’s been getting diapers for years and has never once taken any of them inside! Literally mountains of diaper boxes and diapers that have been sitting in the weather for idk how long now but they keep ordering more
First time I delivered there was rescue for another driver and he said yeah just throw them anywhere they’re not gonna touch them
I don't think anything irks my nerves more than this. I actually think it's worse when they put in a hold and still constantly get packages and sprs smh

I'm surprised those boxes haven't been affected by the weather like rain or something and not to mention there may be some digital electronic packages out there exposed. I'm also surprised no one has stolen any of those packages. I'm thinking this must be in a very dry state out west with very little rainfall and a very secure gated community.
I cancelled prime because they put ads on prime video. The amount of money I'm saving each month because without the 2 day delivery, impulse buying makes no sense
