Head lead, for those who missed it, not a muzzle. My dog also hates using it, and would rather drag her face on concrete to try to get it off. The lead causes no pain, but she hates not being in control. 73 lbs of stubborn. Will walk fine off leash, never wanders, but we have county laws that she just wholeheartedly disagrees with. (Before anyone asks, after the first time of her dragging her face, I caught on to her body language and preemptively distract before she does it. She still tries though.)
100%. Dogs just aren’t always a fan. It’s definitely one of the better options when your dog hates being on a leash, but some dogs will stop at nothing to get it off. Mostly seems like the piece over the snout that distresses them most.
Dogs do that all the time. Carpet, grass, dirt, sand, mulch, doesn't matter. The "muzzle" which isn't really a muzzle is a control device akin to a bridle on a horse
Ah the things we'll do to touch a boob\~
Edit: Since I'm getting downvotes, I feel the need to clarify that what I'm trying to say is dogs are a terrible burden and nobody in their right mind would put up with one if given a choice.
Ohh yes, ahh rub that face, yeees ground, rub my face!
Our old dog (rip) used to do this, but just had a normal lead on and nothing on her face. She just liked the sensation. Snow, grass, leaves, this kind of stuff... all good.

My dog does this on the gentle leader too (only on grass). It’s the lead. The dog in the video wants it off.

Mine only does this a little and not every walk, so I leave it on.
"Get it off! Get it off! Get it off!"
The original “downward dog”
Bet that muzzle is itchy as fuck
It's not a muzzle. It's called a [Gentle Leader](https://www.petsafe.net/gentleleader). He's 85 pounds and I don't want to use a choke chain.
Completely fair, I didn't mean to imply any harm was being done. Still looks itchy as fuck lol
My dog used to use one of these did the same thing, take it off and they will stop itching
Maybe, or maybe he just likes a good face scratch. I've known a few dogs who do this on grass, snow, carpet etc regardless of what they're wearing.
We call it swimming 😂 my dogs will spend ages doing this on any carpeted surfaces or on the sofa
Is this why he's wearing goggles?
I think the muzzle is agitating her or itchy. Does she still do that in a body harness?

Good to know. I've never seen a dog do that before
Splintery wood scritches
My dog does this on the carpet all the time after eating pieces of cow femur
I’m gonna assume you’re a farmer giving your dog an extra treat because any other context makes zero sense.
Ssshhhh don't look in the freezer in his basement. You might not like what you see...
They sell them at Albertsons for like $3/lb, both of my pups love them
Definitely presume that cow femurs are near cows. Totally safe to presume without asking out loud.

What about grass? Snow? A nice mud bath?
Thats a good way to get stickers up the nose!
Full derp.
There must be a lot of smells in that mulch.
