Everyone is always death note this and death note that, but you cannot watch death note without watching code geass. Code geass surpasses it in every way possible.
Very true, although, most people obsessed with death note have not watched code geass. And that's where my problem comes in. Give both a chance and I'll respect your opinion.
Watched two episodes, unfortunately 30s mobsters are one of my least favourite subjects out there.
The only piece of media I was able to enjoy with them is Once Upon a Time in America :(
okay since chainsaw man is my fav i can give a few recs based on that:
devilman crybaby - this is the most recent addition to my personal favorites. the most obvious similarity is that its about a guy who gains supernatural abilities through a random set of circumstances, making him an entity that is half man half devil. the main character has a more righteous motivation than denji from CSM and it gets a little "deeper" near the end but the first half has the same sort of absurdity as CSM
jujutsu kaisen - this one is probably obvious considering jjk and csm are kinda seen as brothers in the whole darker new gen shonen scene with both of them being MAPPA's most popular but i love it so much. if you like the power system of HXH and the ensemble of characters then you'll like it.
mob psycho 100 - another big one for me personally, this one is similar to the other two i mentioned as it is about a kid with supernatural abilties. mob psycho is different in the fact that it is less "adult" than the other two i mentioned. it is similar to HXH in that it wouldnt be innapproiate for a kid to watch but to me it has an optimistic message by the end. my explanation can't do it justice but i'd highly recommend
sorry these are super basic recommendations
side note: if youre super bored i made a post really recently that got a ton of comments about really chaotic and unhinged anime thats perfect for people with limited attention span and who need something to keep them entertained so if you want like 500+ recommendations its under the posts on my profile lol
they may be basic but your recommending anime for someone who's not a regular so they're perfect. if op was a regular I'd recommend death note too, it's in my top 5
Harem in the labyrinth of another world
High School Dxd
Mother of the goddess Dormitory
Isuca
Testament of Sister New Devil
Tales of Wedding rings
The wrong way to use healing magic
i wanna recommend something a little older so imma say Trigun, if you dont like older animation then you could watch the CGI remake which is also really good

Mob Psycho 100. It's from the creator of One Punch Man, this series explores psychic powers and personal growth through its unique animation style.
