PhilosophyCorrect279

Call whoever you bought it from, or call LG and have them check it under warranty. Kinda sounds like maybe some installed something wrong.

Old_Preparation_6199

There’s no installation beyond plugging it in and connecting the vent. Even if the vent isn’t connected the dryer would still run, OP has something broken/defective

canIchangethislater1

That's not exactly true. If the dryer is electric then the power cable could be installed backwards (or the house is wired incorrectly). Not sure about this particular model, but some modern units are smart enough to detect this and trip a fault. If the dryer is gas, then it may not have gas supply turned on, which again may trigger a fault.

jpesh1

Yeah my bet is on an incorrectly wired outlet.

cabbage_head60

Or some models the installer or seller are actually wiring the plug they could have wired it up that it's getting 120 to power the screen but not the full 240 for the heating element.

Snoo78959

Outlet or cable

WhoogoStiglitz

I Disagree. Electric dryers do not come with a power cord and need one installed by the installer crew. The amount of times I have seen a loose connection or the wrong cord type used is mind boggling. Gas dryers obviously need the gas hooked up. Unfortunately neither case is quite as simple as just “plugging it in and connecting the vent”, there is absolutely room for human error/incompetence from the install crew. Since this works for a few cycles it’s safe to assume the correct cord is on there, but possibly has a loose leg of power where the cord connects. I have also seen customers have 3 dryers delivered and installed within weeks as the machine runs but doesn’t produce any heat. Not sure why Home Depot kept throwing new dryers at the issue rather than taking the time to investigate other possible causes. Turns out the lady’s new build high end townhome had fault wiring, only giving her 120v instead of 240v at the dryer plug outlet.

reallawyer

Not coming with the cord must be a US specific thing, every dryer I've ever bought has come with one (pre-wired) here in Canada... Dishwashers don't come with cords though...

WhoogoStiglitz

Yep same in the US with most dishwashers not coming pre wired. Curious if you’re talking about gas dryers or electric in Canada? All gas dryers are pre wired down here but electrics do not come with a cord as there are 2 common types of 240v receptacles (a 4 prong which is code today or a 3 prong still seen in many older residences).

reallawyer

Electric dryers. Have never bought a gas one.

Just_Mr_Grinch

It isn’t unheard of since I believe 240v plugs have changed over time. I know my stove when the company installed it, came with 2 different power cords with 2 different ends and the whole thing actually was hard wired so yeah I can see the dryer not coming with a preinstalled power line.

goshdammitfromimgur

Interesting that dryers in the US are hard-wired. In Australia they just plug into the wall and away you go.

ZombieDancer

They aren’t hard wired, but older homes have a 3- wire outlet and newer homes have a 4-wire outlet. So you need to buy the one that fits your house.

jutzi46

I believe their intent was to say that something was installed wrong in the dryer at the factory. Regardless it should be a warranty issue.

PhilosophyCorrect279

As now said below me, not all major appliances actually come with the cord. If it's a normal 120v, like a washer it will. But for larger appliances, dryers specifically, usually you have to buy it separately and attach it. This is largely due to the fact that there are two common appliance outlets. The more common today being a NEMA 14-50, of which is a 4 prong outlet from the early 2000s to now, and is also seen for EV chargers too even. The other is the older 3 prong 10-30 outlet and is common in older homes.

PinheadLarry207

Electrician here. Electric dryers don't come with a power cord. That is hooked up by the appliance installer. I've had plenty of service calls from loose connections due to installer error.

TXscales

Not true. You have to wire the plug a certain way in the back

IIICaseIII

We just had new LG washer and dryer installed in our new house. Delivery guys couldn't get the dryer to turn on. Killed the 220 breaker and pulled the faceplate. The copper snapped off the plug.

GlobalSignal2074

Installation? You plug it in and go…

collector_of_gear

Most retailers have a short return window on appliances. Call and get it swapped out with a new one!

bribk

I had customer service set up an exchange for me

Prudent_Valuable603

Very good.

Distinct-Original-78

Always this. If it wasn’t an installation problem and it’s a fault? That almost always comes back to bite you, I always try to have customer wait a couple days for a new machine rather than fix something broken during manufacturing. We can send the machine back to the manufacturer if we didn’t buy it too long ago, or get a credit from them if it sat for a good bit.

FatMacchio

FYI, I hear top loading HE washers are not good. I would exchange for a matching set with front load

FuzzeWuzze

Our top load lg works great 10 years in.

Sandersonville

We purchased a top loading LG with impeller about 7-8 months ago and have been super happy with it. Had a front loader before it and are much happier with the top load. It’s used daily and cleans everything we throw at it. It swallows king sized comforters and dirty clothes and spits them out clean!

PickleWineBrine

Top loader is the only way to go.

i812XL

First thing you do, unplug for a few, and plug it back in. Reset it.

morehpperliter

Brand new LG a few years ago. Same thing happened. I turned it off and then flipped the breaker. Waited a few minutes. Breaker on and it has worked great since then. I dunno for sure. It's a decent front loader for what it is.

DrS3R

Samsung dryer of about 10 years did that at its eol. It would only work if you’d flip the breaker for 2-5 minutes and then turn it back on. Eventually after about a few months that trick no longer worked. I took apart the whole thing, deep cleaned it (it wasn’t even that dirty) and put it back together. Unfortunately no luck. It just made a loud buzzing noise and never spun again.

dale_downs

This is all appliances. We need to stop them

tygerdralion

Sounds like this one's already stopped

wagwa2001l

Most likely scenario - Vent out of your house is clogged/crimped - and it has tripped the safety fuse to prevent fire. Make sure to double check the airflow or the next one may be the same issue repeated.

bkrst275

THIS!!! Make sure the vent is clean and unobstructed, or else this could happen to your next dryer!

BiglyAmerican

☝️This is the correct answer. New dryers have back pressure sensors. If the vent is clogged or constricted back pressure builds and shuts off the dryer to prevents fires. Get your dryer vent cleaned and all will likely be fine.

Phaverr

Thermal fuse popped, you need to clean out your venting

Initial-Succotash-37

I say we go back to washtubs and clothes lines. 😃😃

Time_Pay_401

Before Energy Star everything was great. Stuff lasted 30+years.

DiamondJim222

Stuff also cost more (adjusted for inflation) and you repaired several times during its lifetime.

Time_Pay_401

Some stuff like a vcrs, tvs and other electronics. In the 80s. A refrigerator I have in my garage is a 1993 model and still goin strong. Cost about 1/3 what today’s models cost.

DiamondJim222

Adjusted for inflation a *comparable* refrigerator costs about the same today. 2nd refrigerators can last longer because the doors are opened much less frequently, reducing strain on the compressor.

gurxman

Items are built as cheap as possible, if I didn't need a stacked washer and dryer I'd have a set of speed queen in my house. Or you could be like my buddy and pay $50-100 for a used washer or dryer and run it until it dies and then buy another.

Time_Pay_401

That’s what I typically do, but they are becoming scarce because of the big box haul away policy.

gurxman

That is true, my friend lives in a more rural area, ppl generally tell Lowe's to eff off and sell the used appliances on fb marketplace.

Objective_Run_7151

It has nothing to do with Energy Star and everything to do with our disposable culture.

First_Necessary_298

Weird. Many of the high end ($3-10 million) homes that I’ve seen in the past few years have LG washers and dryers. Seems to be “the thing.”

BidetToMouth

Agreed, i see LG everywhere in high end homes

Rough_Category_746

They look slick, but they are cheap disposable junk. I'm sure the homes you are talking about are not custom-crafted homes, but cookie-cutter gated community crap.

First_Necessary_298

https://redf.in/Ddg6m2

First_Necessary_298

No, these are custom homes, the one above $20 million. I haven’t been in that one, but I have pictures that I took of some others, I don’t know how to post them here. These are the types that have big laundry rooms, with things like $12k Subzero “secondary” refrigerators in the laundry room. And they’re using LG washers and dryers. I’m not saying it makes sense, I don’t get it either. But it’s true.

Rough_Category_746

That is interesting...LG's definitely look great, which is how I fell into their trap. I am assuming a lot of rich people don't do their own laundry anyways, so it would be the help's problem to deal with a defective unit.

First_Necessary_298

I need to buy soon, I have 10 year old Maytags that still work great but apparently don’t look good enough for our new house and remodel (not my opinion!). (The issue is the laundry room is getting remodeled with custom cabinets built around the washer and dryer so we need the long term sizes). I know little about LG, it’s always in my mind been a lower end brand, which is why I’ve been surprised to see it in so many very very expensive homes. One other issue is we’ve had front load washers for years, but my wife doesn’t really like them, mainly because the front seal needs so much gross cleaning. I’ve always thought front load, from a practical design standpoint, is odd for a washer. A top load tub with an agitator seems like the most practical and simple design. Yet you don’t see that much. Research continues!

Rough_Category_746

I love top loading agitators now. Speedqueen does make a stacked one but the washer is lower capacity than the stand alone one.

betsbillabong

Be glad the washer didn't malfunction and flood your house, the way it did mine. LG took no responsibility, but at least Home Depot came through. I'd call the retailer ASAP.

Unclerojelio

Never buy LG or Samsung appliances. Artillery shells maybe, but never appliances.

SmokeSuccess

You're misinformed. LG laundry is the best out there. I can't speak for their refrigerators. Every brand has it's weak spot, but to exclude an entire brand is crazy

Time_Pay_401

There should be a sub for LG. Don’t buy LG anything. I’ve had 3 disasters with LG appliances and no one should buy them.

genghisbunny

Back when they were Goldstar everyone knew they were crap. Rebranding to Lucky Goldstar and hiding that in the LG name was a brilliant stroke of marketing.

Time_Pay_401

I thought it was Life’s Good

turbkis95

me too... I learned earlier on reddit the meaning changed when someone said Lucky Gold and I refused to believe it

genghisbunny

That's marketing, baby!

RecognitionClear761

Yeah they make phones and tv s stick to that. I wouldn’t buy a huawei water cooler or a Nokia toilet, or an Apple couch, or a Panasonic table, or a Sony patio set. Common get your head out of your ears!

Time_Pay_401

Yes but the LG TV is trash, too. Went w?/ my 80 y/o dad to buy his first flat screen giant. LG. Set it up and he watched for a bit. Next day, he goes to turn it on. Dead Dead Dead.

RecognitionClear761

Oh that sucks!

Bitgod1

Are Samsung/LGs that bad, or is it that they’re sold so much at stores like Costco/Sam’s that it’s the reason that the vast majority of complaints I see are about Samsung/LG appliances?

phatdoughnut

We have a Samsung washer and drier. It had some recall like one year in because of wet waterproof or bedding causing problems? Haven’t had any issues since then, just recently replaced the tub rollers on our drier. Guess it’s a pretty common issue cause the set was 25 bucks on Amazon. Super easy fix. Now we are testing out an lg induction. 🤞🏽

PineappleLemur

More people buy it... Some get unlucky, you hear them not all the happy people. Personally never had issue with either and my house is all LG/Samsung for TV to fridge for 15 years... The other brands just aren't that popular.. so less people that can complain. But if you search you'll find the exam same complaints about any brand. Defects pass through QC. Shit happens and it sucks. Hopefully it happens within warranty. 5-7 years warranty on those is quite common for a $1000~ appliance. People are always welcome to drop 5-10x on the higher end stuff but those are also not defect prone or guaranteed to last long. Hard to drop 5k-20k on a Miele for example when you can buy a half a house with the price of a kitchen full of them.

YogurtclosetNice3589

LG & Samsung combine for roughly 60% of laundry appliances sold in the U.S.

Rough_Category_746

Yes, they really are that bad. Look up LG and Samsung for class action law suits for mass selling of defective products.

16enjay

First mistake was buying an LG appliance

Sea_Young8549

This. Or Samsung. Had both. Both suck. Now have old mid90s kenmore…best I’ve ever had.

Gunzbngbng

Is it throwing off an error code?

bribk

No it just thinks it’s running a cycle, but it’s off

fun-bucket

TOO MANY COMPUTERS TO GO HAYWIRE IN THE NEWER STUFF. ONE DROP OFF THE TRUCK THE WRONG WAY AND ITS ALL OVER.

tacoeatsyou

You clearly have no idea what these appliances go through to get from manufacturer to customer. Manhandled, dropped, crammed, rattled, thrown only scratches the surface. One drop won’t break em.

Dog_in_human_costume

Why the white pipes on the left make those turns? Seems like they could do a single one

MonthPretend

Stink trap? Just guessing.

TCinOC

Looks like the AC condensation drain

bribk

Ac condenser drain

Motogiro18

My first thought is it's not wired correctly from the outlet. The AC 120 volt is allowing the control function to operate but the 240 is not present. Most installers aren't electricians. The unit may be just fine.

bribk

Natural gas

kyleswitch

This concept boggles my mind when I was searching for a dryer. It seems so strange to power a dryer by gas.

CuppieWanKenobi

Not "powered" - *heated.* 120v natural gas fired dryers are quite common (here in NA, at least), because they're considerably more efficient (read: cheaper to run) than 240v electric dryers are.

eyesotope86

To add, gas dryers are basically a flamethrower aimed at the drum, with a motor spinning the drum. Little bit of gas burns way more efficiently than the electrical heating element uses electricity to heat the drum.

CuppieWanKenobi

Truth. Resistive heating is, ah, well, it sucks.

Initial-Succotash-37

💔

liacosnp

I guess we're lucky. We bought LG washer and dryer two years ago and haven't had any problems. Love them.

thatjaylife242

Could not be receiving the correct voltage

AXXXXXXXXA

I wish the good washer / dryers Looked as nice as these

XiMaoJingPing

Congrats on buying LG! You're getting the Korean brand experience right now!

towelheadass

if you didn't try the app. do that, there may be an update that unfucks it.

bribk

App says machine is drying lol

SkinnyKid529

Had same issue with my LG dryer. Make sure your breaker is not a GFI. Double ground will throw your breaker every time.

Qikslvr

Check the door switch. I've seen instances where the door switch either can't loose or the tab that contacts the door broke off. If you can trigger the switch and it starts that's the issue. If not it's something bigger. Either way get it fixed under warranty.

Master-File-9866

I bought a dishwasher installed it and it failed on first cycle. Pump issue, costco who sold it to me gave me a full credit which I used to buy a new one

oz_mouse

Of course you’ve already checked the child lock is on?

Separate-Effective33

🍋

ElectrikDonut

Im really sorry to hear that. I read in the thread they replaced it? Looks very nice, Is the washer any good?

ComprehensiveSlip265

It sounds like there is an issue with the motherboard. Ask customer service to swap for a brand new one… there is a well known issue for the ones with steam function.

athena2112

The less bells and whistles on an appliance the better in my opinion! We’ve had all of our basic appliances since 1/2016 and they are whirlpool/GE brand. We have whirlpool duets washer and dryer front loaders still work beautifully there’s no fancy buttons or cycles and still uses a basic knob for selecting cycles/time. Look up consumer reports they have excellent advice for buying appliances sorry I’m not much help to your current situation.

Strict-Coyote-9807

Sounds like bad wiring or something similar. Both units not working is 100% unlikely

MaximumGrip

The letters LG stand for Literally Garbage

oldjackhammer99

So????? = return it

Dad-of-many

It's probably just me, but rebooting a computer is the hallmark of crappy software. Looking at you Microsoft. As for these computer controlled appliances? Looks like the kiddies are programming. I guess if it works... I have a Whirlpool front loader that is starting to ding again. This week, I will need to disassemble the front to get to the filter to see what interesting things I can find.

thewittman

I had alot of problems with lg, many units doa out of the box. Also the warranty is shit.

IStaten

A cycle won't start unless gas is detected ?

konegsberg

Something is off if both are dead. Odds of that are relatively low. Check your power! And I don’t mean for having it but if it’s properly grounded and it’s not fluctuating voltage.

shieldagentoz

There isn’t like a Demo mode is there?

Bulky_Sun3410

Our new LG dryer kept bumping the circuit breaker. Once that breaker was replaced we’ve not ever had the problem again.

ratmonkey888

The vent /exhaust is probably clogged. New dryers can sense when the pressure is too high and it won’t turn on as a safety /fire measure.

Rough_Category_746

That is an LG for ya! They offered me absolutely no support or troubleshooting with my defective unit. $2800 down the drain! Went on to buy a speed queen set and will never buy LG again!

Parking_Jelly_6483

Lid interlock switch not closing? That interlock switch is to keep the dryer from running with the lid or door open.

Dull_blade

Day one??? This is getting returned, if it’s mine. They can figure it out at the warehouse not my house.

DrJayman2900

Thats how you know you got a good one..

EmotionalStatement

I would never buy an LG appliance ever again. My washing machine is absolutely terrible at washing clothes. It just doesn't use enough water for the clothes to come out clean. After a few months of use it also started leaking from underneath and the wheel to choose programs doesn't properly work anymore. Never. Again.

Eddy_Monsoon

They look sexy!

MarkClark4

Its been said here many times… LG appliances are over designed under quality crap! STOP buying them!

otter111a

TLDR; unplug it and wait a few minutes before plugging it in. I had installers put in an lg washer dryer for me. After they got everything installed and the old units taken out they turned them on and the washer wouldn’t stop filling. So they shut it down and put me on with a customer service rep. My choices were manually turn water on and off until the new units arrive or go back to the old units which were on the truck. Delivery guy was rolling his eyes at the idea of swapping back. So I decided to keep the new units until the replacements could be shipped to me. After everyone left I decided to see what there is to see inside. Maybe one harness was disconnected. So I unplugged everything and opened it up. Didn’t find anything. But when i plugged everything back in i heard a solenoid click. From that point onwards the washer worked fine.

Critical-Test-4446

SpeedQueen or go home.

hsudude22

In all my personal appliance experience, LG and Samsung make fantastic TVs and nothing else.

Professional_Ear9795

A salesperson once told me to never buy appliances from companies who make cell phones. I think that's great advice.

tonguebasher69

Too much technology built into these machines now. The old days with mechanical switches, etc, that are reliable and you can fix easily have been replaced by computer boards that fail in high numbers. LG replaces a lot of boards on their appliances. Pretty sad.

CharleyNobody

Buy Speed Queen. Expensive but worth it

Suspicious-Refuse144

I’ll never buy another Korean appliance as long as I live…what’s that tell you?

TrekYurSelf

Should have bought Speed Queen Grandmas classic model. No circuit boards

IllAd2483

Bet you did not clean the total 4 in pipe. Or not 5in from the wall so closing the flew pipe maybe flat. And never use the aluminum crap vent pipe.

bribk

Entire vent from dryer to the outside of the house was cleaned out back in March. Installers put on that aluminum pipe

lhswr2014

Had to do some rigging in my recent dryer installation. The outlet was a range outlet instead of a dryer, normally nbd, buy the range cord instead of the dryer cord, hook it up as usual, make sure the hot is grounded, and it’s good to go! Well the dryer we purchased was a floor model, and whoever owned it/set it up before us, did not install the ground wire correctly and it fried the board when we set it up. Was a beautiful light show, the electricity arced between the dryer to the washer and to the metal water lines and welded some water lines together that was touching. Fun shit, but yea, just a long rant to say I think your board is fried my friend. Hopefully the store accepts the return and free replacement, otherwise you’re stuck dicking with the manufacturer and that’s no fun. If you paid for installation it should really be on the store imo.

Right_Thought2317

Call the company that installed them to get a replacement asap, don’t even try a fix-it

Distinct-Original-78

Call the store ya bought it from they’ll have someone come hook it up right, might’ve been a training crew who didn’t wire it correctly.

Apprehensive_Mail936

check the plugin is it 220 or 240 v and look to see what the dry need 220 0r 240 v

Big_Parsley_1635

Call LG directly if you bought them from home Depot. We have a 48hr return policy so after 48 hours it's LG's problem.

spec360

My machines are 40 Years old still kicking todays stuff is junk

solosmooth

Did the installer remove the lock screws? Normally the cylinder comes locked w screws in the back for shipping purposes.

CoffeeDrinker1972

It's not gas dryer, right? Gas dryers have a power cord, but most importantly, it also needs gas. It may not work without gas supply properly installed and turned on..

Forexisboring

I’ll bet the IO panel is faulty/not making connection. Same issue happened on my parents LG set, you could press and hold the start button and it just doesn’t get the signal.

tawilson111152

Some dryers require a neutral and a ground. Okay just saw a post that's it's a gas dryer. I guess that still applies though.

TDurdz

Did you remove the shipping screws that hold the tumbler in place? Usually 3-4 on the backside

Wrong_Excitement221

If i had to make a guess your 2 pole breaker is broken and only supplying a single phase.. Likely just need to replace the breaker. Can test at the wall socket.. should get 240 across the 2 live wires, or 120 from each live to neutral..

Weak_Philosopher_621

Needs an electrician, or someone who can use a voltmeter safely

rhad_rhed

I don’t have any reason that they are not working, but I DO have. Warning—these colors look cool & all, but get scratched to hell super easy. Like sliding plastic smooth bottom laundry basket off the top of the dryer easy. Get yourself one of those desk mats for the top to avoid being a dummy like me.

Koleburgs

is the gas on to the dryer ?

Rzirin

Speed Queen

Ill-Choice-3859

LG = garbage

nsingh101

You’re not suppose to buy Korean appliances, they’re a fad and break easily. Might be okay in South Korea because they are probably cheaper and easier to warranty. Samsung fridges, televisions, and washer dryers are trash. LG follows closely behind. They would rather put a TV screen in your fridge and washer, then turn around and use plastic gears when metal would only be a few dollars more. On that subject, avoid Hyundai and Kia cars. I’m not racist, just waiting patiently for quality to improve. Until then I’ll continue watching their shows and movies. They come up with the best stories!

thackstonns

Check the 240 outlet. I bet only one leg is live.

SnooChickens7845

LG stands for “literal garbage”

mikesk57

LG and Samsung appliances are the worst.

Rough_Category_746

100% agree...

Glittering_Name_3722

1. Return them. 2. Buy speed queen

AjCaron

Had two speed queens in the shop recently, a 2018 and a 2019 both had main bearings gone.

I_drive_a_Vulva

There is a $300 rebate if you buy the classic pair right now, too.

bribk

What’s the total cost though? I paid 1,300 for the pair with extended warranty and installation.

HearingNo4103

DO NOT BUY LG APPLIANCES! Try returning if possible.

aringa

Note to self... Don't buy LG

Videopro524

At this point I don’t think I will buy any appliance made by LG.

faux_ferret

Speed queen is the way to go

Navyguy73

At this point, I'm convinced LG and Samsung exist in the appliance market solely to drive up the value of Whirlpool.

Concrete-Professor

LG and Samsung are complete garbage!

MidwesternAppliance

LG laundry is fine

HonoluluBlueFlu

Actually, LG has high ratings in CR. Samsung…. I don’t think they are rated high on any appliance. Stuck to their TVs.

FatMacchio

As long as you don’t need support. I think they’re both crap for support. But seems like LG has slightly better build quality and design

blumpkin

My father in law has a Samsung TV. I don't recommend it.

HonoluluBlueFlu

I have two, they have been great. The initial menu for startup is a bit slow, but very nice and bright pictures. Zero issues with them for several years now.

blumpkin

I will admit the picture quality is nice, but I hate the interface. It's slow, clunky, and awkward. The remote control just sucks, probably my least favorite of any TV I have ever used. And it was 4x the price of my TV, which is the same size and has equivalent specs. I'm not saying it's a total lemon, I just can't recommend it based on the overall experience vs what else is out there.

Gay_Black_Atheist

Two words. Speed Queen

xmrlewis1x

Nah, today's Speed Queen is not the Speed Queen of old, new speed queen have issues, I do service work and see them more than I do the LG y'all are bashing, I recommend LG over Speed Queen. That being said, there is no perfect machine, they're all mass produced, sure there will be problems with certain units here and there, but LG does make good laundry, their kitchen appliance not so much 🤷

CosmoKing2

Old is key. Nothing new, not even Bosch or Miele, is built as well as even 10 years ago. Regretted replacing (instead of fixing again) our 2005 F&P washer and dryer last year with new LG's (the LG's didn't clean or dry as well). So much so, I saw an ad for a pair of F&P aquasmart and aerosmart washer/dryer (have to be more than 12 years old). Rented a van and drove an hour away just to get them. Been running flawlessly for 18 months. Perfect size for our small household. Still need to put up the ad for the LGs. Glad to see there's a strong market for them.

Gay_Black_Atheist

I heard LG makes great ranges.

xmrlewis1x

Guess I should've specified in my previous comment, it's their refrigerators that they have trouble with compressor failures, haven't worked on any of their other kitchen appliances..

bribk

$3k for the pair

CosmoKing2

You spelled Fisher & Paykel wrong.

Gay_Black_Atheist

> Fisher & Paykel Uh do they even make W/D? I don't even see any listed on their website's own product section lmao

CosmoKing2

Laugh all you want my friend! They used to make some of the best appliances in the world, until they got out bought out by Haier in 2012. When installed correctly by competent people, their dishwashers, washers, and dryers last 25+ years. And are easy to repair. Good luck with whatever floats your boat.

Ok_Analysis_3454

Did they forget to take out the drum holdback bolts?

tacoeatsyou

Dryers don’t have shipping bolts.

Ok_Analysis_3454

Well, I got nothing then.

JayPlenty24

Did you take off the shipping bolts? Dryers come with bolts to hold the drum in place. When I sold appliances and dryers wouldn't run this was the issue 95% of the time.

bribk

It was installed by a delivery company, they tested it at time of delivery and it worked.

JayPlenty24

Did it work or did it turn on? They usually don't wait to make sure it actually turns. Our installers would forget to take the bolts off all the time.

bribk

Turned and heated

SmokeSuccess

They actually don't, you're thinking of front load washers

JayPlenty24

It's the dryer and yeah, they do.

SmokeSuccess

Just installed this exact same set today and no they do not.

SmokeSuccess

Prove me wrong. Show me a dryer that needs shipping bolts removed. I dare you.

Cantdrownafish

Well damn, mine is coming in on Tuesday. I’m hoping I have better luck. I wanted a speed queen but I am not planning on staying too too long at my current home.

financial_pete

Check your breakers

cartercharles

You will have to pry my old dryer from my cold dead fingers. I'm never going to buy one of those shiny pieces of crap

_totalannihilation

Make sure the breaker is good. I tested ground and the two hot wires this week and one circuit showed 90V and the other 124V. 17 bucks and a trip to Home Depot later and I was drying my clothes again. Sometimes the breakers just stop working.
