Nice to see the more female genitalia in buildings than just the male ones, just the large phallic shaped buildings were getting very boring and repetitive.
I watched in chagrin as [the Salesforce Tower in San Francisco](https://www.reddit.com/r/theyknew/comments/surfp6/salesforce_tower_in_downtown_san_francisco/) went up.
It's both 1. unoriginally phallic and boring and 2. very visible from several spots in the Bay Area where no other skyscraper was visible before, so it just looks like the top half of a metal dick sticking up out of the hill or the horizon.
I liked it better when [this more abstract version](https://www.reddit.com/r/sanfrancisco/comments/nh1zb2/aerial_view_of_transamerica_pyramid_the_former/) was our big cock. :(
While others are commenting on the lewdness of the shape, my ADHD monkey brain wants to know: If you were to use it as a slide, could you survive?
The curved slope at the bottom suggests you wont have a sudden/hard impact. Assuming that the surface is perfectly smooth, friction burn isn't an issue or can be negated, you aren't going to fall off the edge(while is possible); would the curved bottom of the slide save you? Or would the curve be too sharp causing you to be crushed by your own momentum?
Seems like this u/ArchitektRadim may also have adhd, here's [the answer](https://reddit.com/r/ArchitecturePorn/comments/y5aldc/a_looped_courtscraper_in_china_by_bjarke_ingels/isja4n1/).
I think one of the problems with some star architects is that no one in their massive studio has the courage to tell them that their building looks like a vagina.

“I think one of the problems with some star architects is that no one in their massive studio has the courage to tell them that their building looks like a PENIS.”
we should all be used to genitalia buildings by now. the world is just like that … dicks and pussies everywhere!
You just want to argue dont you? Just look at all the other comments on this post. If everyone thinks of the same thing when looking at a design, the observers are not at fault, the author is.
You really don't know anything about architecture if you think star architects should not listen to criticism.
The children that make up a vast majority of Reddit aren’t exactly the authority of building design.
Once again my entire point is that the design team isn’t going to get through the design process then take a step back and wonder… but what will the immature internet people think?
I am basing my authority on my DEGREE IN ARCHITECTURE and actual work experience in the field.
If they go through with the design this is going to be the identity of the building for the general public. (Same as the walkie talkie building by Vinoly or the gherkin by Norman Foster).
I’m basing my comment off my own architecture degree and 10+ years of experience. Design teams do not care what the kids on the internet say. If yours does then your practice ain’t great.
There are a lot of actual architects on this subreddit, and even if there weren't, valid criticism can come from anywhere. And no one, not even Ingels, is good enough to just stop listening.
I will die on this hill. It looks like a vagina.
Yes we understand and no one is trying to persuade you otherwise. I’m just saying no one on that design team cares about your immature opinion. Sadly you can’t seem to wrap your head around my point at all.
How many times does your firm go to the public to let them weigh in on your designs? Any architect worth more than a cad monkey can tell you the building is for the clients wants/needs. And this client isn’t joe public. You can die on the hill of being immature and childish my point is that on one cares about what you think and certainly not the designers.
Sure, it looks like a vulva but I'm mainly concerned about the fluid runoff with this design. When it rains, it's going to create rivers flowing down the sides. This will put quite a bit of pressure on the bottom flat. I'm sure there are clever jokes to make about this, but I rpeedict this will be an actual problem.
Architect: Here are the plans
Client: It looks like an Eye of Sauron!
Architect: Oh, right, it kind of does.....
Client: Well, that's not good
Architect: We can say it looks like a vagina?
No, you can [read more about the O-tower here](https://www.archdaily.com/960324/bjarke-ingels-group-to-design-mega-sustainable-infinity-loop-on-the-hangzhou-horizon)
I keep seeing renders of pretty weird skyscrapers and all I can think is "How on earth will the structure work? Where are the columns? How does the crazy curved facade and loop work? Is it magic? Does physics not apply?" The poor engineers who have to make this work...
I speak from experience lol. Ofc I like being involved in these types of projects, they literally keep the company afloat. But I would be lying if I said I didn't always get apprehensive at the upcoming meetings and design requests. "The balconies need to span 8 metres, but we can't have any downstairs, or columns. Can the slab be limited to 200mm?" Transfer slabs every 3, 15m open spans but limited floor-ceiling heights etc etc. The finished article looks incredible always, and it takes a talented architect to achieve it but the engineer's blood, sweat and tears get hidden behind Architecture awards and fancy facades. Pretty building tho.
Glass facades are never really smooth. They are full of sticking out frames dividing the glass panels into smaller panels, so it really won't be usable as a slide.
Even if it did, the momentum you would gain sliding it would probably YEET you so much that it won't be survivable.
Edit: I replied to wrong comment, lol. [This is the right one](https://www.reddit.com/r/ArchitecturePorn/comments/y5aldc/a_looped_courtscraper_in_china_by_bjarke_ingels/isj8kwf/).

Yes, and the vajayjay actually refers to the internal baby blasting tube but it’s turned into a misnomer for all lady parts down there
