It does resemble a barber, but El Paso would be well out of the typical range for barber.
Given that, I would probably call it plainview.
However, it’s kinda semantics at that point…
Definitely paleo and a nice find.
poor explanation but as archeologists dig down through the layers of earth They find different style tools and points then age them according to depth and radiocarbon dating of the material around them . This one is paleo.
Also, the style of points changed according to need (smaller prey necessitates smaller points), or as a new style is spread through contact. The length of time that a point is in style determines one part of a timeline for a region, allowing dating to about when it was in use.
Just tried those Zone ones that popped up immediately during the zyn shortage.
Not terrible flavor and dont jack up your gums like Rogue. Weird aroma/aftertaste though, zyn feel more "normal"
I’m fairly certain this is a Barber point, Transitional Paleoindian, \~9-10k years old. Here is a picture of another Barber point from El Paso:

If you can hunt it down, the type is described here:
Kelly, Thomas C.
1983 The Barber Paleo-Indian Point. Journal of the Southern Texas Archaeological Association La Tierra 10(4):10-25.
I’ve only got back to 2005. You could also look at the pdf Britt Bousman posted of his chapter in Texas Prehistory on Paleoindian Archaeology (pages18-21) here:

Definitely very very old. It could also be an exhausted kinney knife mistaken for a point. And could be distinguished with pieces found at kinkaid shelter in uvalde. I would keep an open mind opposed to some and think this may have walked a long long distance. Or a short one too it's hard to know for sure. Some kind of flint maybe Pedernales
Usually from what I have read personally points could be used as perforators drills or blades till completely exhausted. Sometimes leaving what looks like a pressure flake but it's like a blade turned to almost circular and broad shape. Exhausted points sometimes dropped cause they have a dull tip or an error would make them discard it. A smaller version of its former self and used possibly as a blade before finally being dropped . strongly suggest you Read boulders to bifaces here I suggested it earlier today to another poster.

If this was somewhat larger you can see a clovis style being referred to as an point while it would be a spear or dart at that size, being this size you can see it is rather small and we know points did not distinguish the size of prey, meaning even ' bird points 'as they are called could be used on larger prey if abundant . Keep an open mind and use local paleo or before excavations that have been done it will lead you to 1- the source of this product and 2- most likely a place to start finding more

Thought you might find this interesting
Lies, been traveling back and forth from Gainesville-Tallahassee the past few months while my boys are in the nicu at Shands and I have had to stop at several stores. Can’t find anything but coffee/cinnamon
I work at a vape shop in Cali and it took us 6 weeks to get a restock, ordered 6 logs of every flavor in both nicotine levels. And after all That waiting, they instead sent us f***ing 100 cans of 3mg peppermint and nothing else lol
Is it bad that I didn't realize the name of the sub yet, only saw the picture, then thought to myself "Why is someone posting a picture of chocolate that someone bit?"
It's not a perfect way to know the age, but if you look on the back of the tin you should see the expiration date. It won't tell you exactly when it was made, but you can get a pretty close estimate by that. 😋
I use to live in Tennessee and we had boatloads of arrowhead a in the farmers field next door. I had loads of them along with axe heads etc. I think Cherokee I wish I kept all of them
I have one that is identical to yours except for the material.
https://preview.redd.it/kso3u6vyft8d1.jpeg?width=6144&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=71bf15e3a908d2e040b0213524967e2bee0006bf
6mg based on the color density and shape I would say it's a wintergreen and by the edges and overall condition I'm going to say it's less than 2 weeks old.
I keep seeing people post pictures of points that look like they’re paleo and asking for help with identification. I assume the hope is that someone credulous collector will pm them to make a purchase. It’s possible that sometimes these posts are legit, but my guess is that most of the time people are doing the paleo point equivalent of catfishing.
Not at all. Was super excited to find and definitely keep to pass down. Would like to know value, age, type but priceless to me. Only been doing this for a couple years even have an identification book but still struggling to identify some.
Looks like a barber point. Definitely some type of paleo point. Pretty incredible find.
It does resemble a barber, but El Paso would be well out of the typical range for barber. Given that, I would probably call it plainview. However, it’s kinda semantics at that point… Definitely paleo and a nice find.
Maybe was traded ?
Agreed. Paleo. Old.
She old! Probably between 9000 and 12,000 years.
Wow really? I’m new to this and just follow and look at every ones cool finds. That’s so dang amazing.
How can you tell the age?

Because of the way that it is
The First Law of All Things Complicated Oops. Misread that as “Because that’s the way it is.”
![gif](giphy|jTswmxUGYlyBG|downsized) I was...making a reference
TY for the explanation. Now I have another Reddit recommendation to enjoy.
Damn
Probably easier to find arrowhead than zyn rn.
En route to El Paso for a few logs
I go through their website. Pro tip: subscribe and immediately unsubscribe for 10% off.
Just tried those Zone ones that popped up immediately during the zyn shortage. Not terrible flavor and dont jack up your gums like Rogue. Weird aroma/aftertaste though, zyn feel more "normal"
They're all killin us slowly buddy. no mouth cancer will feel normal. Hunt arrowheads, not nic buzzes
Zyn for scale
Me like Zyn.

Thank you!
Nicotine pouch, Wintergreen at that, from what I gather…
Flavored zyn are more rare than points.

How could one tell the different between the two? Could an exhausted knife be turned into a point like this?

Thanks for the info and rec!
Thanks for all the info!
Off-topic but a empty zyn can weighs next to nothing and makes a secure way to pack out some broken glass.
Smart!

Where are you finding Zyns???
Zyn’s are fully stocked at stores nowadays around me
Wawa in FL was never out.
Lies, been traveling back and forth from Gainesville-Tallahassee the past few months while my boys are in the nicu at Shands and I have had to stop at several stores. Can’t find anything but coffee/cinnamon
Hope your boys are doing better? Sounds very serious. Twins? Sending healing light your way for you and yours.
Yes, twin boys and yes very serious. Toughest little dudes ever. Hardin and Wheeler, named after arrowheads
Pinellas is good
Same in NC.
I heard one of their factories burnt down so everyone freaked out and stocked up. So now there's a huge shortage.
Same. Especially the reserves and cheaper there too
Dead ass gone in Montana. They been selling us some shit called Ons. Lol
I work at a vape shop in Cali and it took us 6 weeks to get a restock, ordered 6 logs of every flavor in both nicotine levels. And after all That waiting, they instead sent us f***ing 100 cans of 3mg peppermint and nothing else lol
Gak. Peppermint is not tasty.
Is it bad that I didn't realize the name of the sub yet, only saw the picture, then thought to myself "Why is someone posting a picture of chocolate that someone bit?"
Could be worse: chocolate is not at all what first came to my mind as I started to see it while scrolling.
I thought it was half a blunt 😂
i thought it was a weird rotten zyn or something
I thought some asshole bit a tootsie roll and stuck it in OP's zyn container, lmao.
No idea but it's absolutely beautiful and likely quite old
Jesus died for our zyns
ZYNSS
You’re not footling anyone… that’s just chocolate.
Or a turd
WOW.
Citrus is better
Fuck when I was in El Paso I never found anything.
Not the zynbabwe
This popped up on my home page and a arrowhead is not what I thought it was at first glance…
Super cool! 😎
Zyn, 6mg. Between 0-3 years
Looks like a spat out Daim.
Not sure but I can tell you those are incredibly rare! I can only find the 3mg peppermints these days lmao
Very old Zyn pouch. Maybe from their first release.
Milk chocolate. 1 year
Science wants to know where that point was found. Please let them know at the University
r/poopfromabutt
I love zyn
Incredible find
Looks like menthol chew, guess it is packet’s.
Need banana
i want to get a time machine so i can give the natives upper deckies. they would of became millennia’s ahead of europeans.

Wintergreen circa November 2023
The user would’ve been proud of your nicotine intake
No there’s a rock covering the lid.
Could you please comment how it was going op?

White man has been here How can you tell? Zyn pouch
I thought it was peanut butter for a second, but that looks amazing
6mg based on the color density and shape I would say it's a wintergreen and by the edges and overall condition I'm going to say it's less than 2 weeks old.
Paleo period point of some type
Wintergreen x Twisted Tea… probably bout an hour and a half.

I’ll take the zyn
Paleo. 10,000 - 15,000 bce
I’m just wondering g how the hell you got your hands on a can of wintergreen 6mg!!
r/poopfromabutt
That’s a turd
Is this a recreation recent flintnapped
Stone age
Looks like petrified wood, at that.
Menthol, and probably 2023-2024.
6mg Zyn, Wintergreen flavor. Probably made circa 2023-2024 A.D. The rock is covering the case, can't see any more information! 😁
Looks like it was made about a few months ago. I’d say from the ZYNbabwe tribe. They usually try to get them around the 6MG weight! lol 😆
Humboldt
There was one clovis point found in el paso in 1994, but it is the only one. Looks slightly fluted to me. (Probably wrong im new here and learning)
Zyn- maybe wintergreen or spearmint.
And modern unfortunately
Wintergreen…Looks modern; not ancient
Well it’s wintergreen and 6 mg. Worth about $5.79
Assuming wintergreen, 6mg, looks brand new, maybe 2-3 pouches missing.
