As despicable as they are, I think it's not fair to grade them on the same scale as the other characters because their parents are completely out of the picture. As far as we know, their dad is not present into their lives and their mother barely interacts with them; neither one of them ever appeared in the course of the show. This may weigh heavily on them and be a factor as to why they are so ill behaved. And even thought they have a caring grandmother, there's always going to be a generational gap that makes it harder for kids to connect with their grandparents the same way they would their own parents.
Prunella because despite being an older member of the friend group, she often comes off as selfish and petty. She really couldn't have hid her disappoint at getting the same gift twice? She believes in fortune telling enough that she was willing to risk her friendship with Marina over it? And worst of all, she somehow gets into a gymnastics class with the Olympic coach that Marina worked really hard to get into, only to then sleep in on class days and nearly get Marina kicked out.
I imagine most people will immediately default to D.W. on this one.š As for my p**ersonal vote,** it's a toss-up between her and C**ousin Cora.** While D.W. certainly does seem to be made to be hated in Arthur-focused episodes, there are episodes focused on her where her accomplishing something is portrayed as a happy ending (like "D.W. Rides Again)," and where she is made to be identifiable to the kids her age who are watching. By contrast, Cora was never portrayed in a sympathetic light in the one episode she appeared in which she had a plot-relevant role, so I think she is a straighter example of a "[Hate Sink](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HateSink)" than D.W.
As this is a show of its time, it kinda can get a pass but I hate that they made her the girl who bullies the kid she likes (arthur). Like everyone thinks Binkie is the bully but he isn't, just misunderstood. Francine is straight up a b****. If I was any of the parents and saw Francine treat my kid the way she does I would say she was no longer welcome in my home.
I have literally never been happy to see the Tibbles having an episode. Some are better than others (namely ones where DW owns them, like in āIād Rather Read it Myself) but even in episodes where they are portrayed as more sympathetic (like Mind Your Manners) the show goes out of its way to show that they are literally as bad as it gets for little kids, and that DW gets all her worst ideas from their influence.
I would also say that early season Mr. Ratburn falls into this trap. Yes, even early on, he did have his moments of humanity, it is made really clear early on that the kids feel like heās more a dictator made to make their lives as difficult as possible.
That episode was sweet (and pretty sad seeing how no one wanted to have a sleepover with the Tibbles), and yeah, they worked really hard to get ready for James coming over, but I do still think itās amusing that James having a good time had nothing to do with him hanging out with the boys and everything to do with their grandmaās cooking.
I actually think they were at their best in the aforementioned āMind Your Mannersā because they were so determined to do something nice for their grandmother (who deserves more gratitude for putting up with their BS in her golden years). Yeah, they did act out quite a bit in that episode, but they were so motivated to be better, despite it being very against their natureā¦itās hard work for a four year old to completely act against their nature/impulses, but they were willing to do that for someone they loved.
You thought Tommy (the red one) was the one with more of a good streak? I always thought it was Timmy (the blue one).
I dunno why, Tommy just seemed like more of a menace to me, especially in Whistling in the Wind when he made up a scenario in how if they were in jail that Timmy wouldn't be able to bail himself out because of his inability to whistle, just to make Timmy more envious.
I think DW could fit into multiple areas if this with this one being one if them. That being said, if weāre focusing on main characters only, maybe Muffy, if not then the Tibbles could be a good choice too.
It goes up and down i guess š. True, she does have a couple good episodes, like the one when Bailey left, when she replanted trees, and when she was worried her dad was gonna lose his job as a car salesman.
For me, it's Prunella. I don't believe any character was made to be 100% hated. However, Prunella is selfish and often lies to Arthur and his friends. She's the older kid whose friends with the younger kids because she can't relate to others her age. And the one friend who is her age that she does have almost got her kicked off the team if I remember correctly.
Straight up evil? Nah, she's just shady asf. Like, you ain't remember the time she was breaking down over the thought that Arthur could be lost forever?
So hard. Muffy because well she can be snobby, rude and selfish. And brag how rich they are but she also can be a good friend.
But Cora (to be fair I'm not as knowledgeable about her) doesn't seem to have redeeming parts. Muffy is loaded but she invites her friends over. She doesn't play "I'm rich, card to be mean like "Uh, I'm rich. I'm not inviting middle class kids)
But the Tibble twins are it.
They cry over everything even when they are fine for attention and/or revenge, they're rude to everyone even if you tried to be nice they mock you
Ehh, not necessarily, made to be hated isnāt the same as saying sheās the worst. It actually does make quite a bit of sense. The show is from the POV of an 8 year old boy, of course his little sister would be an antagonist. Thatās just par for the course of being a kid with siblings. I know that when I was 8 that my little sister was MY personal antagonist, whether or not she always deserved that title or not. I have said many times that I would not nominate DW for sainthood or anything, only that looking back on the show as an adult has made her more sympathetic in my eyes
It's between Francine, Muffy and D.W. for me, but I would go with Francine. Selfish brat who's horrible to everyone and rarely if at all shows remorse.
I would say Cora or Emily
Fricken EMILY
EMILY?! Early Emily sure, but she's solid most of the time later on.
Cora. Who the heck thinks wearing deodorant is a flex?
Kids wanting to seem grown up lol
She already did that with the pantyhose from the Junior department.
The Tibble Twins
As despicable as they are, I think it's not fair to grade them on the same scale as the other characters because their parents are completely out of the picture. Fr. I love the solo episodes where they attempt to be better people, ESPECIALLY the one with them prepping parties to get people to like them.
Was going to say this
Prunella because despite being an older member of the friend group, she often comes off as selfish and petty.
Prunella was the first that came to mind for me too!
I swear she's almost always the problem in her friendship with Marina.
Muffy
Appreciate the disclaimer for the next oneš
Muffys mom is a total MILF
For me its Busterās mom š©
Cora
Cousin Cora.

Dw. Question for tomorrow's question are celeb cameos allowed because then it's either Yo Yo Ma or Art Garfunkel.
Yo Mama š¤
Is that an official vote for him?
Yes
Yes, they are allowed.
made to be hated: francine definitely, sheās always a bully and never really learns her lesson
As this is a show of its time, it kinda can get a pass but I hate that they made her the girl who bullies the kid she likes (arthur). Like everyone thinks Binkie is the bully but he isn't, just misunderstood. Francine is straight up a b****. After Reading [Coraās Wiki page](https://arthur.fandom.com/wiki/Cora) I think it is most definitely Cora
Muffy. Or specifically, Muffys dad.
Ed's funny asf, but I kinda agree.
Cousin Cora.

Watch Night of the Tibble. They were at their absolute best there.
Fr. Maybe they were tired of being the local menaces. Character development perhaps?
Tommyās been having an arch ever since an episode in like season 2 when DW and Emily wished they could play with him without Timmy.
Can a character win for 2 options? I think the Tibbles should win for both the gremlin and made to be hated.
Yup. I don't know if there is an "official" rule for or against that in the "Every show has one" game, but I have decided that they can.
I think DW could fit into multiple areas if this with this one being one if them. That being said, if weāre focusing on main characters only, maybe Muffy, if not then the Tibbles could be a good choice too.
Lyndonna
It's Ladonna.
Binky in the early seasons. But in the later seasons, they made in have a soft hidden side that makes him likable
Nah, even in the earlier seasons of the show we got small glimpses on Binky's true nature.
Ladonna
Fuckin LADONNA AND BUD lol
Lyndonna
Iām Lyndona and I wanna have fun
Uh, you are talking about Ladonna, right? Or is there a character I don't know about (another user voted for "Lyndonna" too).
DW, Cora, Muffy or maybe Lisa
The Tibbles!!!
DW Her whole character is "annoying little sister." She was explicitly created to rustle Arthur's jimmies.
Muffy as well, created to be the snobby rich girl, who only became worse as the seasons progressed.
REALLY?! Nah, a whole bunch of her solo episodes show her in a more sympathetic light, specifically episodes like Caught in the Crosswires.
It goes up and down i guess š. True, she does have a couple good episodes, like the one when Bailey left, when she replanted trees, and when she was worried her dad was gonna lose his job as a car salesman.
Yeah. I feel like certain characters on this sub get WAY too much hate and not enough talk about their nuances fr.
Cousin Cora, 100%! Other characters may be annoying, but Cora was written to be unlikable.
DW fr

DW
Itās just gotta be DW lol
D.W.
MUFFY.
DW
DW.
DW š
I can't decide if the Tibbles belong here and DW belongs in "Just Straight Up Evil", or vice versa.
DW is definitely just straight up evil lol. The Tibbles are gremlins.
Straight up evil? Nah, she's just shady asf. Like, you ain't remember the time she was breaking down over the thought that Arthur could be lost forever?
True that, or when he cut himself with a can
Yeah. Or her learning to appreciate Arthur during Beastly Birthday.
Muffy. Iād like to punch her right in the muff.
Muffy!
Francine
FUCKIN LOS DEDOS (shes a one-time character but i despise her) For a regular character, fuckin MUFFY lol
So hard. Muffy because well she can be snobby, rude and selfish. And brag how rich they are but she also can be a good friend. But Cora (to be fair I'm not as knowledgeable about her) doesn't seem to have redeeming parts. Muffy is loaded but she invites her friends over. # Final results (also includes votes made early in the previous round) * **D.W.: 20** * Muffy: 14 * Cousin Cora: 11 * Tibble twins: 8 * Ladonna: 7 * Prunella: 4 * Francine: 3 * Binky: 2 * Bud: 2 * Emily: 2 * Mr. Ratburn: 2 * Tough Customers: 2 * "Arthur's Knee" episode: 1 * Ed Crosswire: 1 * George: 1 * Kate: 1 * Lisa: 1 * Los Dedos: 1 * Portia: 1 * Wally: 1 And the winner is... **D.W.!** ...I imagine u/Hamiltonfan25 will be rather upset by this turn of events.

DW seems the most obvious
Ngl, the next one is weird no matter the age of the character since they're all animals. Also, for made to be hated, I'd pick Muffy.
Yeah, it is weird, but I don't think you should blame me for this; I didn't make the template for this game.
Muffy
The Terrible Tibbles.
I'm surprised I'm not seeing more DWs. Absolutely DW. There's even a YouTube series titled "FU DW" by YouTuber Matt Neff. That's how bad she is.
I recently discovered FU DW and I'm so glad I did
YES LOL
Bud
And his sister
They both annoy me. I think the voices.
Any bud and ladonna episode i refer to as the swamp ass episodes
I fuckin hated those two
I can't wait for elwood city limits to cover the episode where they leave like a malignant tumor being excised
DW
I think maybe one of the tough customers for the made to be hated. And the whats your name again? Maybe james or emma
"Emma?" You mean Emily?
No the rat girl. Shes friends with prunella. Shes at ferns party
Kate š
Shes ok, cute baby in the first seasons, but i wasnt a big fan of the Kate talking episodes, also I hated the fleas.
Dw was annoying af most of the time
In early seasons any of the tough customers, they were made to be the bullies
Yeah, I love how fleshed out they got, especially Rattles.
I originally said The Tibbles so I'm seconding that!
Ladonna
Ladonna
im saving tibble twins for evil
Cora
Fuckin Muffy, especially in later seasons
Muffy. As much as I don't like DW, Muffy I feel is worse.
Cora
Muffy
It's between Francine, Muffy and D.W. for me, but I would go with Francine. Selfish brat who's horrible to everyone and rarely if at all shows remorse.
Muffy is a straight up bitch and snobbish imo
Cora
Iām going to say Portia
Muffy
Prunella
Mr. Ratburn lol
Muffy
Cora
