Next thing you know there's gonna be a tarot card encased in glass in the knot hole.
Spoiler alert: It's the on/off switch for the giant carousel behind the tree.
First, they took my gas guzzling car, then they took my gas guzzling inefficient stove, and now they are taking my trees and turning them electric. When will the electricification of the world stop. 🤣🤣🤣

Ummm noo... Girdling involves cutting or damage to more than 50% of the cambium layer in a single cross-section of the trunk.
This is known as edaphoecotropism - or "the tree ate it"
Look around at neighboring trees. You’ll likely find a fae house around. You’d be surprised how much further ahead than us your “garden variety” fae are.
Either the tree was planted near an electrical outlet stub, or someone just nailed some plug boxes to a tree and in either case it just grew around it. I've seen barbed wire through trees, fenceposts, etc.
I know everyone’s joking but I’m actually curious. I wonder if the tree grew around the outlet placed around it like that.
It could also be a fake tree, or they did actually do some precision cutting and gutted out enough space for the wiring, then glued the wood back.
But I’m not quite sure I beleaf any of the tree.
Either a lot of patience from some to split the tree in its youth and set those outlets in it and then band the tree back together allowing it to mend and grow around them. Or a tree begin growing right next to a outlet stand which was just a conduit pole sticking out of the ground. Eventually the tree started growing against it and started to envelope the stand.

I've heard of branch circuits, it only makes sense there'd be trunk circuits too.
A+
It used to be in the electrician reference books but it's missing now that they've all been truncated.
Golden comment and needs more upvotes
Utility pole in its natural state.
Benjamin button utility pole
Utilitree, fixed it for you.
Totally Stumped.
Exterior boxes were installed onto the tree and the tree grew around the boxes.
Nah, these are the new weatherproof camo edition
Thank you. I scrolled was too far to find the right answer. Nature being nature.
As kids we used to do this out in the woods with old tires. Fun to see 25 years later how far the trees have grown with tire arms
That must be a trunk line
The reason its not legal to mount power boxes to trees.
Looks like it was mounted on a poles, and the tree just swallowed all of it.
looks like it’s conduit attached to the tree
Awwww, but it's awesome
Peak grounding.

That wood be crazy to rewire.

This isn’t real. Don’t try and treeck people.
HUH a current bush.
In the arborist world, it's known as "girdling"
Ummm noo... Girdling involves cutting or damage to more than 50% of the cambium layer in a single cross-section of the trunk. This is known as edaphoecotropism - or "the tree ate it"
I knew a smarter redditor would clarify this. I'm almost usually always nearly wrong every other time. Thank you.
Of course there's a special name for "the tree ate it"
It's a rare variety of electric maple.
Progress
Looks like that tree grows electricity.
Someone found the electictree
There was an outlet on a metal pole, then, a tree grew over it, ~25 years id say

Why is someone jacking the Keebler Elves' electricity?
I know everyone’s joking but I’m actually curious. I wonder if the tree grew around the outlet placed around it like that. It could also be a fake tree, or they did actually do some precision cutting and gutted out enough space for the wiring, then glued the wood back. But I’m not quite sure I beleaf any of the tree.
Wait my dad has always been lying to me, electricity DOES grow on trees

Instead of being happy killing themselves, their apprentices, and my bank account, shitty electricians have started killing trees.
"Turn that light off...electricity doesn't grow in trees, you know!" "Well, actually..."
I hope that is treeFI protected
Just a multi wire branch circuit
Life.....finds a way Edit.... can't spell.
It looks like a cut in box 😂
Either a lot of patience from some to split the tree in its youth and set those outlets in it and then band the tree back together allowing it to mend and grow around them.
