Idk why you got bombed for this comment, it’s a valid thing to assume a lot of cars can’t do a burnt out, maybe all the FWD hatchback owners are pissed at you…
It’s tugging the weight, rather than pushing it, therefore the weight shifts to the undriven wheels, resulting in less grip force to the drive wheels. Then ya got yourself an 80hp burnout!
Friend had a first gen Geo Metro with a manual many years ago, even on damp ground that thing could not spin the tires lol. But yeah 99% of FWD hatches can smoke 'em
These days you have to push 2 buttons for 5 seconds while standing on your head in shape of a pretzel to get a car to relinquish command of the traction control and stability assist. 😆. Only then may you pass through the gates of the front wheel chirp zone to collect your long-awaited chubby.
I haven't even seen a single reply mention that real burnouts are impossible without an LSD.
Front wheel drive cars with an LSD are not exactly common.
Assuming the driver could manage it without crashing into a fire hydrant with a telephone attached, with a tank of gas on top resulting in a huge fireball with water spraying everywhere.
The type of person that would ask this question, is the type of person to have that happen.
I have a fun little anecdote about this exact scenario. So I'm in a smallish college town in northwest MS. About 6 years ago, one of our roommates took a trip and had to fly out of the Memphis Airport. We drove her there and dropped her off in her car, a 2010's era Camry Hybrid, and took the car back home so we could pick her up in a week. It is by no means a flashy or sporty car. This will be important later. It is also of note, that I and the car-owner, were the only American roomates in our house.
When it came time to pick her up, two roommates rode along. A guy from curacao, and a girl from Ireland. So as we made it into Tennessee, and are turning towards the airport, we come to a red light. A few seconds later, a white fox body mustang pulls up to the red light, right next to us. I just happen to look over and see it appears to be a couple methhead dudes with even less sense than teeth. I guess my glancing in their direction, activated some type of Sudafed induced primal instinct, and they started revving the engine and while riding the brake, as if they wanted to race.
I responded by doing the same thing, and then focused straight on the light ahead, as if I was about to race them once it turned green. My Irish roommate was screaming, because she had no idea what was happening. My roommate from curacao, was cheering because he thought he was about to see his first American street race. However, I was bluffing everyone, because this was not my car I'm driving, and also ITS A FUCKING TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID.
Unbeknownst to everyone, I had already put the car in neutral, so when the light turned green I gave it a little higher RPM Rev. However, the mustang clearly didn't realize I wasn't moving at all, and he went FULL SEND.
I saw him looking at us in the mirror as he made it through the intersection, but that was his mistake. As he was looking at me, he wasn't looking at the telephone pole and fire hydrant he was headed straight toward. He hit them full speed. The fire hydrant water spewed out just like in the movies. But the telephone pole only cracked about halfway through. As we leisurely drove past the carnage a few seconds later, I rolled down my window to tell my newly pedestrian friend, "Good Race Bud!"
Just throw some vice grips on the soft line to the rear brake T. Now you can just mash the gas and brake and spin the back tires with no resistance while staying in one spot 👌🏼 just don’t forget to take the vice grips off after
At that point the purposeful treads on your tires will not be working on top of misbalancing your wheels. Driving in dry conditions won’t be smooth and wet conditions will mean tires not gripping and expelling water properly.
For OP I’d just drive it like normal and it will be gone soon enough, highly recommend against purposefully covering your tires in asphalt to try and curb wear.
Also gonna need windshield fluid flushed and filled halfway to compensate for the extra displacement in the exhaust intake manifold from the extra weight assumed by the asphalt.
I would just drive them it should break off.... also tires don't have to much life left so you need to start looking for replacement soon.. probably need before winter comes..
You need a new car. That stuff will be covering all sorts of essential parts. The giggle pin will need replacement, these are really expensive to remove and replace. Don't drive it as all the asphalt will move backwards and get into the heimlich filter. If you do try to fix it, make sure you replace the guggenheimersprocitsockit. These are about 30 quid on eBay.
As someone who paves for a living, your best bet is to just stay away from the vicinity of anything behind the paver. Walk it off I guess, I bet they were laughing at you
I’m guessing from the angle of the tire that this is the front and I’m guessing it’s in the rear as well… in that case the person who said figure 8’s in a parking lot is probably the best bet, work it loose and depending area and weather would hurt to take it on a dirt/gravel road.
To my limited knowledge, should be fine to drive it off. I've done the same with dirt, mud, concrete and more (Pizza driver, I drive a lot in bad conditions).
Can I say, what kind of fucking brand of tire is that? I am a supervisor for a tire warehouse, and have never heard of this!!!
Edit: I see now that it’s a Pirelli brand… explains everything lol I seen the one that started the C and thought that was the brand not the style lol
It's not gonna hurt anything to drive on it. It might be a bit noisy as the material flings off the tire, but it won't hurt anything. If you really wanna clean them, use a big ol' wire brush.
If you are going to be driving on asphalt, make sure you have a fully loaded neon colored 4x4 jeep with can racks. They are designed for such harsh conditions.
Just had this happen as they paved the road in front of my house before winter. THE TIRES WERE VERY SLIPPERY WITH THE ASPHALT ON THEM, my whole vehicle slid in the first turn I took with a little speed. It didn't peel off my Toyo Proxes till I drove on the highway, that created enough centrifugal force to pull all the asphalt off.

Big smoky burnout to clean up the tread. Or just keep driving until it all works itself loose.
Assuming the car can do a burnout...
Idk why you got bombed for this comment, it’s a valid thing to assume a lot of cars can’t do a burnt out, maybe all the FWD hatchback owners are pissed at you…
I've never had a fwd hatch I couldn't do a burnout with.
I feel like all fwd have the bonus? Doing a brake stand is harder than pulling the ebrake.
my cvt honda civic would like a word jokes aside tho, fwd is easier for burnouts in lower powered cars IMO
It’s tugging the weight, rather than pushing it, therefore the weight shifts to the undriven wheels, resulting in less grip force to the drive wheels. Then ya got yourself an 80hp burnout!
And the bigger the shitbox the higher chances of crappy tires just increasing the efficacy.
Plus an open diff. Gettin' that one tire fire.
same
Lol it’s actually been your clutch all along
I could do a burnout with my 60ps diesel fiesta from 1992.
Great, now do it in an awd
Donuts are the AWD equivalent of burnouts
Friend had a first gen Geo Metro with a manual many years ago, even on damp ground that thing could not spin the tires lol. But yeah 99% of FWD hatches can smoke 'em
Bruh my 2003 jetta with the underpowered 2.0 that had 200k would smoke them just bounce it off redline and dump the clutch
I have, the might of the VW Polo
Tbf, a lot of them do not have a LSD, so they just burnout one tire.
My old 944 would do a burnout, but it would almost certainly be followed immediately by a $6000 trip to the clutch store
With the 944 it’s either that or the ring and pinion grenade
These days you have to push 2 buttons for 5 seconds while standing on your head in shape of a pretzel to get a car to relinquish command of the traction control and stability assist. 😆. Only then may you pass through the gates of the front wheel chirp zone to collect your long-awaited chubby.
I appreciate this.
We’ve swung you back! It was -15
I haven't even seen a single reply mention that real burnouts are impossible without an LSD. Front wheel drive cars with an LSD are not exactly common.
One tire fire is still a burnout. Just not a very impressive one
Not with that attitude!
So LSD makes burnouts better, I'm with you on that
Right? This is so odd. Do these people just assume all cars can do a burnout?
Some cars you can’t even fully turn off the traction control to even attempt a burnout.
That's the advantage to a car that's old enough to not have traction control.
I just imagine sweaty Reddit people mad at the world , downvoting posts.
One wheel peel
it’s a 2016 428i so idk
Mystery solved then
People with those 2012 civics and stock foreign cars are mad.

I feel like this is the best response on this whole post😂
Find a big, empty parking lot and drive figure-eights for an hour. Don't use other chemicals.
[like this?](https://youtu.be/SIexEfYq8SM?si=RQjRG3i9VIFCQT7X)
Mmmmm.... dough nutsss
Just drive on it, it will go away, no harm
If i can slop asphalt onto my tires, will my tires never wear out their tread??? I wonder.
This one simple trick tyre manufacturers HATE
Yes but your mechanic will hate you
At that point the purposeful treads on your tires will not be working on top of misbalancing your wheels. Driving in dry conditions won’t be smooth and wet conditions will mean tires not gripping and expelling water properly. For OP I’d just drive it like normal and it will be gone soon enough, highly recommend against purposefully covering your tires in asphalt to try and curb wear.
What if I spray FlexSeal on them every week?
Sounds like an easy way to save $200 per year on tires and spend $2,000 per year on FlexSeal.
You are gonna need new tires and a transmission. Maybe a right taillight too.
Also gonna need windshield fluid flushed and filled halfway to compensate for the extra displacement in the exhaust intake manifold from the extra weight assumed by the asphalt.
But that’ll put a greater load on the muffler bearing. Better replace that too, just to be on the safe side
Gonna have to flush your brake lines too, and it looks like you need your catalytic converter replaced.
Don't forget the cabin filter. Most common thing forgotten by folks to get replaced. Only cost ya about $250 to do.
Can he get a second opinion?
Nope. Car would be totaled by the time it got to the second shop
This is what they mean when they say “become one with the road”
Drive? What else would u do?
Save them for winter tires
Hahah exactly
You'll want to put a mixture of fuel and air in a combustion chamber. With the help of spark, it should turn the crank and then turn the wheels
Burn out or some fat donuts
Drive until it falls of, then keep driving.
Extra layer = more miles on the road
Don’t look at it
I would just drive them it should break off.... also tires don't have to much life left so you need to start looking for replacement soon.. probably need before winter comes..
Winter is in fact coming
Not drive through uncured asphalt
90-100 for 5 min. Should take care of it
You need a new car.
Don't drive thru asphalt
You have the road on your tires now you can drive anywhere! I recommend a road trip to Hawaii
Just think how much tire tread that is saving I think I came up with a great idea....
Totalled.
🤣
Burnouts
Nice, free tread
As someone who paves for a living, your best bet is to just stay away from the vicinity of anything behind the paver. Walk it off I guess, I bet they were laughing at you
A burnout
Is this guy smoked or on crack?
Throw em in the gutta..then go buy another?
Gonna need a new engine unfortunately. Might as well replace the transmission and whole drive line while you’re at it.
Looks like extra protection to me lol.
Just drive. Careful about parking in your driveway. It will stick in spots.
OF COURSE its a bmw driver :P but in all seriousness, you have all-terrain tires now. enjoy,
Download the Carvana app
Nothing. Keep on driving. It will fall off.
If you drive through wet blacktop that’s your own dumb asphalt
Keep driving….. it’ll come off.
Since this is Reddit, break up with your girlfriend
Apply a coat of driveway sealer.
You definitely need a new transmission now.
do i really? everyone keeps saying that
No he is being a dipshit.
Big burnout
A burnout.

“Obligatory BMW joke”
Is that metric asphalt ?
New car required asap
Just drive like normal. It will wear off.
Keep driving.
Just keep driving!🚘🚗
I mean looks like you only have a few thousand miles on them anyways.
Put it in Drive and press on the accelerator.
Had this happen to me a couple of years ago. Had to use a putty knife to get as much off as I could.
Free tread, let it ride
Drive til shakes loose
Burnouts. Just kidding. Keep driving.
On ramp at twice the recommended speed
Extra grippy!
Get a small thing of diesel and wet the tar on the tire with it if its shaking too much to drive. It'll come off in 5-10 minutes after a small drive.
Burnout
Lay some rubber on the road!
Enjoy the extra tread. Eventually, it will come off.
To my limited knowledge, should be fine to drive it off. I've done the same with dirt, mud, concrete and more (Pizza driver, I drive a lot in bad conditions).
Do some burn outs
If we had flying cars by now like we SHOULD HAVE, this wouldn’t be an issue.
You got more grip now!
Drive on king
keep driving
Swerve back and forth to scrub the tires. At least that's what they do in NASCAR
Your entire car needs to be replaced, or go do some donuts in an empty parking lot
Get new tires because Cinturato P7s are trash.
I had this happen once. Thankfully it was on my drive tires. I did a burn out in a safe location and the resolved all the thumping
Gonna have to talk to insurance on this one 😬
Can I say, what kind of fucking brand of tire is that? I am a supervisor for a tire warehouse, and have never heard of this!!! Edit: I see now that it’s a Pirelli brand… explains everything lol I seen the one that started the C and thought that was the brand not the style lol
You, my friend, just got some free extra tread on your tires.
Give it back to the road where u took it from! 😄
Pee on it , Uric acid helps clean
You forgot your driveway was fresh after getting it done or some?
Serpentine, serpentine..
Back up. It'll undo it.
Enjoy the extra traction
Nothing
Just drive it will eventually just go away.
Du burns and smoke.
For a moment I thought this was a joke post in r/offroad 😄
Drive it off
Drive faster
Do nothing.
A burnout or some drifting. Seriously...
be mo careful.
Clutch drop. Lol jk
Get a new car
Just never drive on asphalt. I keep my car in my garage all the time and my tires are like new.
Sand down the tires till slick. BOOM You've got yourself a racecar. Thank me later.
Just drive your vehicle as normal
This happened to me i just let it "dry" overnight and then went along a little bumpy road and it was gone
So your tire tread life is reduced by exposure to hot asphalt or liquid hot oil?
It's not gonna hurt anything to drive on it. It might be a bit noisy as the material flings off the tire, but it won't hurt anything. If you really wanna clean them, use a big ol' wire brush.
it comes off gradually just driving around
Its over for you....
Drive it will come off
Drive like you own the road. Because you now do.
I wanna know why your tyres have banned music and lighthouses? (Pic 2)
I hear gasoline works wonders to get it off car paint, maybe the tires too?
Wheelspins.
Drive
Drive
A couple of on ramps at moderate speed will clean them off
Send it
Take a drive down some dirt roads or the interstate if it's not too busy.
Drive until you gift it back to the road
Dump the clutch and light those wheels up, big fat smokey burnout should clean them up nicely
Press the undo button
Keep driving your car. It will come off in time.
This happened to me last week. They repaved some roads in my town. What did I do about it nothing. It flung off in 2 days.
Drive on dirt paths to create new roads.
Re-apply it to the road you stole it from you thief. But seriously it will come off by just driving around.
Another lap or two and they will be good as new
It’ll fall off eventually
If you are going to be driving on asphalt, make sure you have a fully loaded neon colored 4x4 jeep with can racks. They are designed for such harsh conditions.
Don't stop driving, it will blow up
Applogize
Donuts
Clean as much as you can with a flathead screwdriver and the rest will eventually come off while driving.
Just keep driving
Take a torch and heat the asphalt up, long and slow, burn it all off. Wear a mask 😷
They look nearly down to the wear bars anyway, just drive and it will clean them off but you'll need new tyres soon anyway
Come fill idahos pot holes
now you got extra thread on the tire why would you remove
Extra grip
Oh use gasoline
Just drive it. 🤷🏻♂️
Just drive it.
Drive it
Drive it
Your tires will be fine, you may have cost someone else some money though
Drive.
Drive.
Rub some diesel fuel onnit
Drive. It’ll come off
Drive it like its hot.
