As someone who grew up being bullied in school due to my weight and appearance, i always make sure to dress nicely, fix my hair and wear little makeup even going to the near by stores to feel good and have a little confidence. It's just sad that nowadays, i get called and viewed maarte by some people and even by my own family because of my ways and they dont understand the deeper reason why i do it. But its better that being called ugly

Para padaanin ako sa mga buildings sa Makati. Seriously andami dung buildinh na pwede tumagos sa kabilang street na hindi ka na iikot. At least kung attractive ka nababawasan yung pagsita ng guard. (Siyempre dun lang sa mga buildings na pwede mag pass through, may nakapaskil naman sa labas kung bawal)

I don’t feel good pag di ako maganda sa paningin ko. Nung nagpandemic at nag wfh na kami, nagstop ako magskin care as in lahat. Tas nung nagbrowse ako ng mga dati kong pictures, narealize ko na ang pangit na ng balat ko compared nung nagooffice ako everyday at napipilitan ako magskin care. Then just last year january, after my friend’s wedding, andami kong pimples kaya nagbalik loob ako sa pagaayos sa sarili ko. I get excited when I go out, bumili ako ng maaayos na damit - ayun, I feel good na about myself di na ko nalulungkot pag nakikita ko pics ko pre pandemic.

If we have events here sa school, (I am studying abroad), I always dress nice and wear light make up. Im so happy kasi natuto akong make up diro abroad. My foreign friends would always compliment me that I look very pretty and my dressed are so elegant! Like P199 lang to sa shopee eh! Hahahaha. Im just glad they’re so sweet

I don't, I see no merit in it. I just do the basic hygiene stuff. Because honestly no one cares. I accepted my image as it is, improving it seems like a chore and honestly is a waste of time. I do feel good about myself being me. I can confidently ask some stranger something without basing or relying on my looks. The way they perceive me does not matter to me, what I need are results of how I live my life as me.

Baka hindi magandang reason, but it's because people treat me well pag naka ayos ako. I used to not know how to style myself well and do my makeup noong high school, and madalas ako matarayan ng iba. Madalas pagtripan ng classmates. Pagdating ng college, nag aayos na. Naka heels lagi, naka dress lagi, may accessories lagi. Learned how to do makeup, especially yung bagay sa features ko. Tapos biglang ang bait ng tao sakin. Grabe makangiti ang guards, bait ng mga cashier, kilala agad ng profs. I'm happy with the change, pero nakakadismaya na it takes physical appearance lang pala to get people to treat you so much better. Narealize ko ulit 'to sa gym. Months ago, maluwag lagi suot ko, no makeup, naka bun lang buhok, walang may pake sakin. Now I wear more form fitting clothing in colors na mas bagay sakin, braid or ponytail my hair, laging may onting mascara and lip tint, tas nakahikaw. Ngayon pag need ko ng tulong mag rack ng weights ang daming lalapit. :"")

Kasi nung bata ako sobrang panget ko kayaaaaa now todo effort ako sa skincare at pagaayos ng sarili. Well di ko pa maachieve yung sexy na nakatawan. Mataba pa din ako pero at least magands mukha ko.

Nainculcate samen ng parents ko especially ng nanay ko na wag kaming lalabas ng mukhang dugyot kasi it reflects how we are raised. Nung mga bata pa kame, ayaw na ayaw kaming umaalis ng marumi ang sapatos at gusot ang damit kasi parang wala raw kaming mga magulang. Syempre usual kyeme lang yun ng matatanda. However, growing up, narealize kong nakaka uplift ng mood kapag maganda nakikita mo sa salamin lalo na pag naupo ka sa harap ng jeep hahaha. I was also bullied before for my skin. Hindi naman ako nagpaputi pero nagimprove ako in a sense na gusto kong maaliwalas ang hitsura ko pag umaalis. Hindi man tayo sobrang kagandahan, at least di tayo masasabihang mukhang maasim.

To be honest, it's my insecurities. I have hyperpigmentation on my chin, round face, small lips and fat nose, and i'm short/pandak or whatever you want to call it. "Bakit? How short are you ba?" I'm 4'7ft and i'm 23y.o. pretty short right? Pinagkakamalan pa ako dati na kinder😩 Growing up I was basically brainwashed with "Kahit pandak ka, basta maganda ka" yan palagi sinasabi sakin ng mom ko so talaga naging obsessed ako mag makeup. There were also times when my classmates in 1st year college asked me to try a day without makeup and I refuse of course since I was sleep deprived that time and my lips were pale asf. And one time I was almost late to class and I didn't have time to do my makeup and my classmates literally looked concerned when I enetered the room. Whole morning almost everyone asked me if I were sick or something due to may pale lips and dark circles. I got even more insecure when they jokingly said "mukha kang adik bhe" "parang dinaanan ka lang ng bagyo" 🫠🫠 Never again hahaha, di lang ako mag m-makeup kapag naka mask lang naman whole day sa labas hahahaha

For me, ayoko minsan kasi napagkakamalang mayaman at laging tampulan ng atensyon, gusto ko yung lowkey lang. Kaya madalas kapag umaalis sa bahay during dayoff, halos nakapangbahay lang ako. May confidence na ko, pero ayoko ng atensyon.

Having good looks means that you have a ton of self-respect and discipline and people will judge you by your looks. Knowing how to properly take care of your self (and your health) is a reflection of self-respect and discipline. It takes discipline to wash every day, effort in your clothes, having morning/night routines, going to gym everyday, and eating healthy everyday. Being disciplined is knowing how to take responsibility.

For myself. I wanna look back at my old photos when I’m old and sabihin ko wow I look damn amazing! I wanna show my kids and future grandkids that this is their lola na kikay and very fashionista back in her day. To boost my confidence, of course. I experienced being the ugly and fat kid who got bullied and didn’t have the self esteem. Ayaw ko na maging ganun ulit. I’m the better version of that kid.

Mahilig ako bumili ng make-up. Sayang naman if di ko gagamitin 😛 Meron din akong sinimulang mantra noong 3rd year college ako "Dibale nang malasin ako, at least maganda ako today." You have to pick a struggle. Oo masakit bumagsak sa exam na isang linggo kong inaral, pero mas masakit para sa akin na bagsak na nga ako, pangit pa ako.

Parang naging normal na sakin yung presentable ako lagi kaya parang di na ako nag e-effort magpa gwapo. Sarap lang sa feeling pag tinititigan ka or sinasabihang gwapo and na gusto nila yung looks mo or they ask about what I'm in to.

Kasi gusto ko? I genuinely enjoy looking good. I don’t dress up for anyone, only for myself. Halatang di ako okay sa buhay pag wala akong gana mag-ayos at all. Siguro napaka-shallow na hobby ang fashion, at napaka-shallow magpaganda, pero masaya kaya gawin.
