One useful exercise is mindfulness meditation, which involves focusing your attention on your breath and bringing your mind back to your breath whenever it wanders. This practice can help improve your ability to sustain your focus and avoid distractions. Another exercise is cognitive behavioral therapy, which can help you identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors that may be contributing to your attention problems.

Try meditation and mindfulness practices. They can help improve focus and attention span.

Focused attention meditation techniques. I recommend starting with alternate nostril breathing or bee's breath. Mindfulness are open monitoring techniques and are dogshit for ADHD.

What do you mean by that last sentence ?

The most popular form of meditation is called mindfulness, which is a culturally appropriated, whitewashed and dumbed down version of the meditative traditions of the East. That's most of what you see in meditation apps. People with ADHD can be understood as people with fast minds. Mindfulness is for slow minds. For fast minds, you need more powerful and more engaging techniques to get the ADHD mind to calm down naturally. Most people would recommend closing your eyes for meditation. For people with ADHD, it can actually be better to meditate with your eyes open.

Social media apps are designed to keep you engaged and they are very good at it. Don't assume there is anything wrong with you until you speak to a professional. In the mean time, make some realistic goals around social media or screen use and see if things improve.

Short of seeing a professional, put your phone in a drawer and walk away for a minute. Read a paragraph or watch a few minutes of a show. Then go for 2 minutes, then 5, then 10. Just keep pushing it.
