My friend is a doctor in the US Air Force, he's an oncologist but has done various rotations through departments in his career and one time he was working in the ER and a patient came in that had been injured in a fight. It was a middle-aged male wearing only work boots and jeans, tall, heavy, muscular, covered with tattoos, long messed up hair, nipple rings, He had a variety of cuts, bruises, bloodied knuckles, etc. He was also clearly under the influence of alcohol.
My friend began with trying to assess the guy's injuries and the guy started to get agitated. He and a nurse started to try and clean some of the wounds and prep a suture kit, but the guy got increasingly belligerent and at one point took a swing at my friend, so both he and the nurse shouted for security. This wiry older security guard comes running in, sees the big fellow, sizes him up, and walks over, then calmly and firmly grabs a nipple ring and lifts up. My friend said that the man's eyes lit up and it was like he instantly sobered up; he gave the security guard his full attention. The security guard calmly told him that he he'd be polite and let the doctor do his job with no fussing. The big guy was in tears and agreed.

It wasn't for very long, and the drive home was more uncomfortable than the few moments to get it done, but I was driving, in heat in a van with bad air conditioning, after being awake for hours before driving to get them (I lived in a small town, and the place I decided to go with was about 45 minutes drive away give or take).

Nah, depends on your immune system and precisely what tissue the piercing is by. It's just your body depositing debris outside. My left earring hole gets crusty but the right one doesn't.
Same here, it took me about 3 years to be "fully healed". I worked out in the heat and sweat sooo much during the summers, I attributed it taking so long, to that. They would heal up during winters only to start over in the summer. Until finally, they were 100%. By far my favorite piercing, and worth it. Sadly, I had to take them out to breastfeed though.
Some people's bodies react like the rings are infections or invasive. Your body sends white blood cells to fix it and you end up with white scabs. A couple showers a day rinses them off but they come right back. I assume wearing a bra doesn't help

Most of my ex's have had them as I tend to date alt girls, but I never really found them attractive/unattractive. What I did not like is they could get sore/infected and uncomfortable for her, or you'd just actually catch them in the wrong way and cause (unwanted) pain.
I have two stories for this. First, when I was still in high school ages ago one of the kids in my gym class had his nipples pierced. He was one of those annoying shit talker types and not a particularly big guy, but he thought he was really cool. One day he had a small chain connecting the two. He started mouthing off to someone while in the locker room changing and they grabbed his chain and yanked it out. I still remember the ungodly scream as he's holding his bleeding chest and running away. Not sure what happened after that. Second, I dated a girl in Denver several years ago who had hers done. They looked good but the person who did them messed them up? I don't know, but if I did anything with them it would cause her extreme pain. So no boob play. That was a real buzz kill. Everything else with her was great, but I couldn't live with no boobies.
I'm cool with it. If you want one, go for it, I don't care. It would not affect my opinion of a person. Personally, I find them neither sexy nor arousing, quite the opposite. The same goes for tattoos.
