Why should it?

dgdio

The people who are here "boycotting" Reddit don't seem to understand how boycotting works.

TeodorWithoutH

Not reallt, haven't learnt much about it and that's why I'm asking here. Isn't boycotting refusing to provide support, traffic and profit to the company?

dgdio

Exactly. I'm sure u/spez has a dashboard of how many people are logged on, how many ads are being served, how many comments are being generated, and how many posts are being created. If they don't go down: he won't change their API stance.

LuinAelin

And I believe that they can just give these subs to others willing to play to their rules if they want.

renegadeMare

The sentinel bots and data harvesting AI entities won’t allow it to not exist because then they won’t exist. It’s sorta cheap sci-fi philosophical stuff.

KrankySilverFox

Hahahaha… I hear ya

sitman

Yeah! It's cluttering up the space that the good stuff should be in.

I was not aware the boycott was supposed to extend into Tuesday. Everything I read was that it was for June 12 and I did my part by staying off yesterday. I was very disappointed to visit some of my regular subs and see how much activity they had while I was away.
