At the risk of being downvoted, I'm curious that if a broad sweep of illness was removed, what things we consider to be normal would be caught in the crossfire. Like, we consider bipolar, schizophrenia, etc to be mental illness, but what about things we don't consider to be now, but might actually be? What if alternative sexual orientation/gender gets swept in the removal? What if something you do all the time is part of an unknown mental disorder? The drastic personality changes in so many people would be fascinating and terrifying.
I say this as someone who is bipolar and also bisexual. I am curious how much of my personality is dependent on these two things.
I don't think alternative identity would be removed, but the harm of dysphoria would. I'd love to exist in a world where the part of the identity journey my loved ones have struggled with didn't exist, and they could instead just be themselves from the start.

Yeah, the individual may be a kind, caring person for anyone and anything but the species as a whole viewed from any point of view not human is a plague similar to locusts swarming fields devastating them and leaving nothing behind but worse as we poison the land too.
