Many influencers are part of the marketing ecosystem. Some may be douche bags, but they perform a business function. I don't think I've bought any electronics for the last 5 years without watching reviews or unboxing videos.
There is no job that is useless. Otherwise, it wouldn't be there. A job just exist because there is a demand. So, even if some girl is selling used socks as her job, it's useful for the people who are buying her socks.
In an efficient system that would be true. I've known people that hire friends or family members out of favor or obligation even if they don't add value.
Food, Art or Movie Critic - unable to create great food, or art or a decent movie but can make or break the performance of an artist with their opinion.
This job should not exist .. no skin in the game for the critic yet soo much power.
PS: why in the world would you need someone to tell you if something is good or not? How much of a sheep do you need to be to appreciate things.!

The US solves only about 25% of all crimes. Mist propert theft is only recovered at a rate nesr 10%.
Only about 1/3 of violent crime is ever solved and murder is the only crime we solve at a rate over 50%.
With what we spend on police, the returns trash.
