Yup! If we aren’t careful there won’t be anymore honey. 🍯
And the saddest part is, honey bees are actually very friendly! But people just assume they are the same as any other species related to them. Since wasps and such have no purpose, people just see them as pests to be destroyed and assume honey bees are just as violent and dangerous. When they aren’t.
My dad told me that my grandfather once bought a honeybee hive to put in his backyard to pollinate his kiwi plants. Soon they had more kiwi then they could eat! But one of their neighbors snuck in and poisoned the hive. 😞
Honey bees are important but there’s too much focus on just honey bees. Honey bees have had issues but they have a big industry backing them, they already have good PR cause honey, honey bee population has INCREASED globally and most importantly they are not native to the Americas.
a lot of America’s native bees are in trouble and people don’t really care about them, cause honey bees get focused on. There are crops that originated in the americas like tomatos, peppers, potatoes, cranberries, blueberries and other native plants that need Americas native bees, as honey bees cannot perform sonication to pollinate these plants.
Yall really made me go google my own country about the bees population here. Never thought bees endangered species. Because , lets be real, the honey that they put on supermarket shelves are like a lot lot. (Never questioned their pureness tho).
We lack of government support and awareness about it. We are tropical rainforests country tho. Sob sob sob.
But i think i saw more honey in Middle east the last time i visit them. Hmm 🤔 idk
I am an unabashed wasp apologist and I will say that they are unfairly maligned and serve useful purposes in pollination, eating organic detritus, etc.
Maybe not European wasps in Australia. But otherwise they're OK.
Humans, to the glee of many, are declining in population in most well developed countries. Well past the replacement threshold. Either we all learn to participate in self sustaining communities or we’re toast.
Leaving all the domesticated animals who depend on humans caring for them to survive without being eaten alive by whatever predator they run into… That thought makes me want to cry ngl
"Wild" animals aren't going to be the ones ending life on Earth eventually. They don't need prisons, generally don't have a 1%, and they aren't generally sadistic (*looking at you dolphins LOL*).
We humans can type to each other on the internet anywhere on Earth, without ever understanding each other. Blue whales can communicate up to 1000 miles. This is pure conjecture but blue whales probably also have a better understanding of each other.
Humans put out fancy new tech and then treat each other worse than literal apes. Is that domesticated? Humans aren't tamed, they're super egotistical and destructive - willing to destroy the Earth for profit margins. That's wild.
Giraffe
Many many many bugs
Chimpanzees.

Yeah I love bees. And they’re extremely important to the environment! It makes me so sad :\_(

Okay, how bad is it now ? 🤔
Litteraly the first thing that popped into my mind
Prairie dogs
Not to be confused with gophers (ground squirrels), which are listed "least concern" by the IUCN.
Axolotl.
Great white shark

After a few nuke, we will be endangered
Many countries are already on the decline with birth rate, on their way to collapse.
It'll reach an equilibrium most likely. The problem is societal strain in getting there.
The societal strain of eliminating humans? Yeah sounds strenuous
The less we produce baby the better honestly
If you want humans to be extinct, sure
It would be polite to just off ourselves and leave the domesticated animals be instead of nuking them too tho.

I was referring to the domesticated animals that live in the woods. Comparatively.
I’m pulling a blank on that lol can you give some examples? You might give me some peace of mind

Ah I see your point though we definitely didn’t start on the same page. Thanks.
