The Grudge. The part where she’s under the covers… nope nope nope.

veganmamii97

Honestly have never seen this series but I want to start with the original Japanese ones when I do 😊

OldLineLib

Omg yesssssss

doomscrolling420

I wouldn’t say it was disturbing but sends shivers down my spine anytime I watch it, that one scene in Insidious where they’re at the table and then the demon is just behind him, that red face idk just spooks my shit white 😭

veganmamii97

Very very good jumpscare that is effective every view ❤️

Doink_the_clown_

Jeepers Creepers and not just because of the director.

veganmamii97

Separate the art from the artist with this series. I love them. Especially the intro for the first since it's based on true events

Doink_the_clown_

The whole thing is great. Country roads, abandon building, getting ran off the road, local lore. It's perfect.

veganmamii97

The second one is the series high for me. Love it. "ALL YOU KIDS GET DOWN" Then BAM! ❤️

Doink_the_clown_

The cast is a little too big for me. It's like a show from the WB or Varsity Blues got spliced in. Lance Henriksen saved it though.

Two Girls One Cup

dumbpaint

The Exorcist scared the shit out of me when I was younger. Also, The Poughkeepsie Tapes was deeply disturbing.

veganmamii97

The Poughkeepsie Tapes is what inspired this question because I saw it for the first time yesterday and went in with the hype of it being scary AF but maybe im desensitized because I was like "that was good (:" after watching it 😅

dumbpaint

Hahaha yeah it’s been a while since it came out so there is probably stuff out there that’s just as horrifying now. I haven’t seen it in close to 15 years so I hardly remember it. I just remember it being deeply disturbing, but definitely something you can’t take your eyes off!

Logical_Sweet_6624

I heard it was banned in theatres for 10 years because it was so disturbing

dumbpaint

I have no idea. I honestly hardly remember it anymore, probably blocked it out, lol. It’s been close to 15 years since I watched it. I just remember my boyfriend at the time introduced it to me as a real documentary (it’s a mockumentary) and I was horrified. I did find out soon after it was fake but I was still just as disturbed lol.

Mountain_Juggernaut

The butterfly affect and how if one small things in my past was different my whole life could be different

thatwasnowthisisthen

It was just one scene in The Amityville Horror, when you finally saw Jodie the pig’s red glowing eyes in the window. Gave me the creeps and didn’t want to look outside at night for a few weeks in fear of meeting a demonic gaze.

RockFury

Enter the Void, Host, in different ways. Oh, and Martyrs.

veganmamii97

Host is that one that came out during covid right?

RockFury

Yes, 2020. It's about these women having a seance over Zoom. Short at 80-some-odd minutes. I had never heard of it before a post about this study on scariest movies using heart monitors. Made me realize jump scares are underrated. That shit got me even when I saw it coming. Definitely reccomend.

Jaq-N-Jayne

Both great films. Enter the void was crazy. Did you see the second Martyrs film?

veganmamii97

Theres a second one? I'm going down a iceberg movies list and I just saw the original martyrs and thought it was really good 😊

Jaq-N-Jayne

Yeah, the first one is great. I didn't know they had made a second one until I found it on a streaming service by chance a few months back. It's technically an American remake, but it almost seems to follow the original French-Canadian 2008 original. The second, in my opinion, did not need to be made and didn't stand up at all compared to the original.

RockFury

Wow, I didn't realize there was a second Martyrs. I'd have to watch a lot of Taskmaster or Dropout material for mindbleach. Enter the Void was horrifying. Only bad acid experience, and I watched Hellraiser on it and had a blast. Even my friends who weren't were getting upset. But here I am, perception of time extending, being more emotionally sensitive, I think some of them handled it worse than I did. 3 fucking hours of agony, that movie, but I couldn't not rate it 4/5 because it did what it sought.

luculia

i remember when i was little my aunt let me and my cousins watch the first saw movie when we were in the 5th grade i was up ALL night lmfao waiting for the people in the pig masks to come and snatch us up

veganmamii97

Just recently have gone and watched this whole series. Growing up I only saw the first one and never actually watched any other. I didn't know it had a whole story tbh 😂

Siskoda

The Exorcist (original). I saw it when I was about 9.

Jaq-N-Jayne

A Serbian Film. It's about as fucked up as it gets. ***SPOILER*** you get to see a man impale another man's side of his skull using only his errection. And that's not even the worst of it...

veganmamii97

And the baby scene, yes I've seen it 😅

Jaq-N-Jayne

At the time, I had recently watched the Human Centipede series (1 and 2) and eas hard pressed to think it got much worse than that. Found out 8 was mistaken, very quickly.

Oxfxax

Sinister

veganmamii97

VERY good movie. First time a jumpscare has worked on me in FOREVER😂

Mimosas_4_days365

I could not sleep for like a week after watching Pet Cemetery (the newer one). My boyfriend and mom hyped it up for me, didn’t show me the trailer or anything. I had a blanket wrapped around me the whole time, and my boyfriend wouldn’t let me turn the lights on either. It’s like, I get you miss your daughter but bffr about digging the bitch up, just because the damn cat was “alive” doesn’t mean she was!!

Logical_Sweet_6624

Se7en, the lust kill didn’t bother me though, which is weird

wavetoyou

That one made me writhe, fucking depraved. Worst death in the movie. From the grimy underground sex motel, the actor nailing it in the interrogation scene with way the volume of his voice changes, the breathing, etc., as he’s reliving the trauma of what had just happened, then going to the SM shop where the weapon was custom-made and interviewing the “artist.” Everything about it made me nauseous. Fincher just needs to come to terms with the fact that serial murderers bring out the best in him, and just stick with it. Mindhunter season 3 for the love of God

Punny-Aggron

Not necessarily a horror movie, but several scenes in Terminator 2 gave me nightmares for weeks (I was way too young to see it when I saw it)

captain_ghostface

The trailer for skinamarink. I would wake up in the middle of the night and be scared. Then i watched the movie and wasnt scared anymore.

veganmamii97

Yeah I’ve heard 50% of people saying it’s scary af, then others saying it’s boring 😂

captain_ghostface

Its a good movie, but it took me 2 viewings to finish cuz i kept falling asleep. I liked it, but thought it would work better as a youtube short. Then i learned it was originally a youtube short.

lacielk

Dead silence, i hated puppets before that and the movie just made it worse

veganmamii97

Love love that movie 😭❤️

lucky_owl2002

Smile.
