Sorry to hear that. Your mother should be the person who will always love you and be there for you no matter what. Sadly some of us only have ourselves and rely on the comfort of friends and strangers if we are lucky
While it can really hurt it can make you a better parent later on if you are able to have, or want, children. My father was a terrible father and I was apprehensive about children as a result as I wondered if I would be the same for many years. After adopting our daughter I realized that sometimes a bad example can actually be good as I have not repeated the errors of my father

I knew that I never wanted kids since I was 5, 19 years later I’m even more certain I never want kids, my shitty parents aren’t even a factor in that decision

I'm glad for you. However if you asked me about kids at your age I'd have said the same. Fast forward a couple or more decades and everything changed lol
She went to hell and back to make sure my siblings and I were fed. We have always been extremely poor, like, almost a week without food poor. No matter how much she had to give, she did it. There were no jobs where we were living and my dad made 200 Dollars a week. He never cared what happened to us, but she did. She went hungry so we could be fed.
We don't always get along. We fight a lot actually, but no matter what, she will always be there for me. Sometimes I wish I was never born, but she's happy I was. I don't know what I'll do when she's gone.

Yeah she’s never done that, she’s not the loving caring type, thankfully I have a best friend who gives me everything I need
