Tiny steps! I've been working on this for the past year (not quite there yet but massive improvements).
For me it started with disregarding the bad stuff I say to myself. Give those insults no value, so that they lose power. Imagine they're flies in your room: annoying and present, sometimes downright infuriating, but you CAN swat them away. Or like a weird guy on the street corner that yells weird conspiracy theories. Those words hold no value and by crossing the street and you can walk past at a distance and the words lose impact. Anytime I insult myself, I bring up these metaphores and those words lose impact.
Once those negative words lose their value, you can start giving value to the positives.
