There's so much variety within the taco world. Any meat is good in a taco. You can use beans instead of meat and it's still great. Corn tortilla, flour tortilla, soft or hard shell, I can't imagine getting sick of tacos.
I recently went to Mexico, and my idea of what a taco is completely changed. I'm American and thought of the classic hard-shell Taco Bell taco, but in Mexico, there is SO MUCH variety, it's unbelievable. I could definitely eat tacos everyday. Al pastor 5 days a week, barbacoa on Saturday, and carnitas on Sunday. I would be a fat but happy man.
Same thing happened to me. You don’t truly realize you had symptoms until you go gluten free and feel so much better. I was never “gluten intolerant” or “lactose intolerant,” however after giving up both my stomach aches, constipation, gas, bloating etc was a thing of the past. I haven’t had gas in 3 years.
>but is in pretty much everything
This is what it's like for me since developing adult-onset allergies to tomatoes and almonds. So many foods have some sort of tomato based ingredient and I have to be very careful with baked goods because of how often almond oil is used. Almond flour is somewhat easy to avoid, but almond oil is something I really have to look out for since most people don't think to mention it.
the wildest part of that whole movie is how someone could stay in isolation on a space planet for YEARS and never dip into the drug stash until the very end
It's been awhile since I've read the book, but they go into how Watney was the only member of the team that could have done it. His humor as a coping mechanism helped him deal with the isolation where everyone else would have cracked somehow.
i'd probably focus on staying alive and all that xd
(nah but honestly, i hate losing my full consciousness/not having full control of my body, i probably wouldn't have touched it either)
Worked with a guy in the office at the Railroad who brought 2 large slices of pizza, leftovers to work for breakfast 3 days a week. One of the women in the office kitchen ask him, " how can you eat that this early in the morning?" His answer, "my stomach doesn't know what time it is and neither does it care," while washing down a slice with a cup of coffee. Rest in Peace Chris, best softball player I ever knew.
Yep! My husband and I often justify getting pizza more than one day a week by getting it from different restaurants with different crusts and toppings and such.
When I was on the tail end of my course of chemo and finally had an appetite, I went and got a burrito (which would be my answer to this question) and it DESTROYED me. I'd never felt so betrayed. Horrible GI symptoms for the next two weeks.
My desire for burritos remains undimmed.
Congrats to you for your completed round of chemo and your unequivocal love of burritos. I wish you the very best in health and mexican food. Oh and fuck cancer.
I ate a brisket sandwich atleast 6 days a week for seven years, never got tired of it. Currently on year 5 of eating an Italian hoagie for lunch every weekday. If you let me choose any sandwich I could eat nothing but sandwiches the rest of my life.
Did you make those sandwiches or buy them? I'm weighing in on which is worse: cooking enough brisket every week for 6 meals or the cost of buying 6 sandwiches a week
I came here to say this. I think a full meal would get boring eventually. But I could have at least 1 piece of good sushi everyday. And I think it would make my day that much better.
Agree, highly.
I ate 62 pieces of nigiri at all you can eat recently.
Another place nearby, Hapa, offers 50% off during football and soccer games, and it’s irresistible
I think it helps theres a huge variety of sushi. If its store bought quality sushi I would not but if it were fresh sushi from Japan then yes I would never get bored
Even the quality of our store bought has improved greatly in the last 10 years. It used to be god-awful, but now it’s on a par with say a good Asian, but not sushi restaurant that happens to make it. Not great but very edible.
Not Asian, but rice is an everyday in my culture as well (Brazilian). I don't trade it for any pasta, quinoa, couscous, anything. And I mean the white rice. I am not a fan of any of the other rices (but I do eat them for health reasons).
My mother makes the best sauce on the planet. Homemade meatballs and she adds beef ribs that cook all day and fall apart in the sauce. If she’s feeling fancy, Italian sausage links will go in.
Mom hasn’t made her masterpiece in quite a while as she is almost 80, but when I was little she made us whatever our favorite dinner was for our birthday. I always wanted spaghetti and meatballs. Must have garlic bread on the side too!
Big difference between say American "Top Ramen" and an average Japanese ramen shop. I absolutely could eat from a ramen shop every day, but a Cup o' Noodles or Top Ramen every day drags me back to college days.
Pasta.
I know most people think of all pasta as tasting the same but for me spaghetti is a completely different meal than penne or orzos.
It also helps I’m Italian.
When I was like 7 I saw some Japanese show where they broke raw eggs over hot rice. I microwaved some leftover white rice we happened to have and then be one an egg over it. I thought it was delicious but my mom caught me halfway through eating it and was appalled and didn’t believe it was a real thing, she thought I was making it up and I made her Google it lol.
I know American eggs are apparently a lot more dangerous to consume raw than what they have in Japan but I’ve been doing this for 20 years now and nothing bad has happened yet lol. Now I usually add soy sauce and garlic, and also wait for it cook the egg a bit before eating it. It’s cheap and easy and in college I worked at a Chinese restaurant and got p much unlimited white rice for free, I was usually eating a bowl of white rice with two raw eggs and a bag of frozen vegetables and soy sauce/garlic twice a day at least because I was so broke and the only kitchen equipment I had was a microwave. Amazing budget food, and also nutritious and low cal for how satiating it is. I’ve weighed the same 115 lbs since I was like 18 and I think my rice and eggs is one of the reasons why lol. I’d also switch out the rice for potatoes for breakfast, so almost all of my money back then was going to gas, eggs, potatoes, frozen vegetables, and bottom shelf vodka lol. Managed to support myself just working part time as a hostess for like $10/hr this way, and this was 2012-2016. Oh and I also shoplifted stuff like tampons and shampoo which I realize in hindsight wasn’t cool, but I mean meh I needed that stuff more than Walmart’s CEO needed an extra $7 of profit that week so I’m not super ashamed
I get lil painful eczema patches if I eat eggs every day, it's so weird.
But I can eat 2-3 a week just fine.
Human bodies are dumb lol. Otherwise I'd totally eat eggs for breakfast every day, it's so easy! And endless flavor options. With meat? On toast? Leftover friend rice?? It's perfect.
Visited a buddy of mine in Hyderabad and he took me on a tour of all his favorite biryani spots. It was an incredible culinary journey...I could eat there forever and not get bored.
When I ran out of money at the end of one semester in university the free popcorn machine is how I survived for a week. I could do it again easily if I need to.
This is me. I did a rough calculation that I have eaten 250-300 Döner over a 3-year period in Germany. Unfortunately feta was always charged extra, but it was so worth it.
The funny thing is, I used to despise tomatoes until my son grew them in his room a few years ago. Now whenever I'm back in Germany I get Döner with everything (no longer ordering "ohne Tomaten, bitte") and it's such a good experience.
Honestly, they were like my babies! My son and I would tickle the yellow flowers every day to pollinate them (no bees indoors!) and I began to feel affection for my little tomatoes. I thought it would be a waste not to try them.
I built myself up from maybe having one thin slice in a sandwich, to a cherry tomato cut into quarters in a salad. Now I quite enjoy them! A salad isn't complete without a few tomatoes in there to balance out the onion.
It also opened my eyes to tomato juice. Oh, my goodness me. A favourite breakfast of mine is smoked mackerel with toast, accompanied by a large glass of Tommy J. It's a wonderful umami explosion that sets you up for a great day.
I've been eating ice cream daily for a month or so now and gained nearly ten pounds. I should stop this habit but it is so satisfying to have a big bowl before bed.
Bananas, like avocados, are high in histamines. People can develop reactions later in life due to exposure for several reasons, such as pollen allergies, latex allergies, etc…so you kinda screw yourself over if you eat a ton of them sadly.
Tacos
That's always my answer. Proper tacos never get old because you get so much variety.
I don't even need variety. Carne asada (steak) street style with some regret-inducing spicy salsa. Get in my belly.
Same, except al pastor. Usually from a truck, then I eat it in another truck.
"It's raining tacos from out of the sky, tacos no need to ask why"
Just open your mouth, and close your eyes
It’s raining tacos!
There's so much variety within the taco world. Any meat is good in a taco. You can use beans instead of meat and it's still great. Corn tortilla, flour tortilla, soft or hard shell, I can't imagine getting sick of tacos.
You neglected breakfast tacos but I’m here to help
tacos todos los dias!!!!
I don’t think most of us think Taco Bell is “Mexican” but is American Mexican. I love some Taco YumYum but it isn’t like actual Mexican food.
Al pastor con piña is God tier
There you are! I had to scroll for a long time to find you but I knew there had to be at least one other taco fan. Taco Fam.
Bread 🥖
You are mocking me. I always loved bread, until my body started to hate gluten or whatever.
I am really sorry you can't eat the best food on the planet, give this guy lots of upvotes beacuse he can't eat bread :(
Hahaha appreciated :D
Breaddit can be a thing if one is brave enough
There's always r/breadstapledtotrees
No matter how you slice it, bread is the greatest invention since I don't know when.
Omg same here. I loved my pasta and my bread, and I always say I ate my lifetimes allotment so I'm not allowed to have anymore.
Yeah maybe we just had too much of it and our bodies noped out. ;)
When did you realize that gluten was the problem? Like I’m curious if you’ve always had symptoms or all of a sudden one day it happened.
I’m the same, would have bread everyday but can’t have wheat/gluten (which isn’t just in bread, but is in pretty much everything)
>but is in pretty much everything This is what it's like for me since developing adult-onset allergies to tomatoes and almonds. So many foods have some sort of tomato based ingredient and I have to be very careful with baked goods because of how often almond oil is used. Almond flour is somewhat easy to avoid, but almond oil is something I really have to look out for since most people don't think to mention it.
I’ve recently had this happen to me, I stare a little too long at my husbands food when he has bread, it looks so good.
I bet that kills him. Having a girlfriend/wife stare at your food is like having a puppy do it. 'Damn it, heres a bite'
Yeah but you know it'll hurt them. Like eating chocolate and your dog gives you the biggest begging eyes.
If I'm ever on death row, my last meal would just be a nice fresh-baked loaf of bread. idc what kind. Maybe with a little dish of olive oil.
Bread 👍
Same. And so many different kinds of bread to choose from all over the world! Definitely one of the best inventions in human history
*Po-tay-toes!* Boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew... Lovely big golden chips with a nice piece of fried fish.
I think the guy in the film ‘the Martian’ got a bit tired of them 😬😂
That's because he didn't have any butter or salt.
Ketchup. He ran out of ketchup.
And salt, pretty sure he started using crushed up painkiller at some point
Vicodin fries, coming soon from Burger King.
They can't stop me!
the wildest part of that whole movie is how someone could stay in isolation on a space planet for YEARS and never dip into the drug stash until the very end

Haha fair enough
Even you couldn’t say no that! Oh yes we could!
Freshly baked bread with butter
And some sea salt!
Pizza … everyday, everywhere, every way
Pizza in the morning, pizza in the evening, pizza at supper time.
When pizza's on a bagel, you can have pizza anytime.
Yes bc you change the types of sauces, toppings, thin crust thick crust. I get it!
And if I'm allowed the basic ingredients, the other best foods, sandwiches and flour tacos.
No no, give me the same pizza every das for the rest of my life and I will be happy. Just make it a good pizza.
Yep! My husband and I often justify getting pizza more than one day a week by getting it from different restaurants with different crusts and toppings and such.
I think it's pizza for me too. You can switch it up so many ways! Classic toppings, gourmet toppings, red sauce, white sauce, etc.
Idk man I can do pizza leftovers 3 days in a row but I can't imagine going 2 weeks let alone a full year or something
Pizza leftovers is different. And from the same place. If we can mix it up that’s a different deal altogether
There are infinite pizza combinations though.
You can make pizza in so many different ways though, deep dish is worlds different from a cracker thin crust, but they're both pizza
One bite, everybody knows the rules
*proceeds to eat entire slice*
A good soft taco. Pretty much any Mexican food really. It never gets old.
Mexican was the one food I could usually eat and have taste good while going through chemo. At one point we ate it three times in one week.
Sandwiches

Did you make those sandwiches or buy them? I'm weighing in on which is worse: cooking enough brisket every week for 6 meals or the cost of buying 6 sandwiches a week
I made all of them but that's because I worked at a few different bbq restaurants in high school and college to get by. It was all free brisket.
Oh then you had the best of both worlds, then! Cheers!
Sandwiches are beautiful, sandwiches are fine I like sandwiches, I eat them all the time
I eat them for my supper and I eat them for my lunch, if I had a hundred sandwiches I’d eat them all at once!
I'm a-roamin' and a-ramblin' and a-wandering along, and if you care to listen I will sing a happy song (Fred Penner FTW!)
This is the answer. Everything. So many options.
I realize this does technically answer the question, but it feels akin to answering "what's your favourite animal" with "mammals."
Dumplings
Garlic bread. I could honestly eat for every meal. Or just eat it forever without stopping.
Opened this thread specifically to look for this comment. Thank you for not disappointing me.
Sushi
I came here to say this. I think a full meal would get boring eventually. But I could have at least 1 piece of good sushi everyday. And I think it would make my day that much better.
You know...yeah. I think one piece every day would actually make me very happy haha
I would look forward to that one piece of sushi every single day
Agree, highly. I ate 62 pieces of nigiri at all you can eat recently. Another place nearby, Hapa, offers 50% off during football and soccer games, and it’s irresistible

Was looking for this comment, it was the first thing to cross my mind. Especially really nice, high quality nigiri.
Pho, boat noodles, kathew etc. some soupy rice noodle dish.
Just what I was thinking. When I saw a few people mentioning Ramen, I was thinking Pho is more delicious.
[удалено]
Pho is a breakfast food vs ramen lunch/din
Pho every single day!
White rice
Yup! Much a of staple food for a large portion of the world.
[удалено]
I eat rice every fucking day Rice is basically my life I can't go without it even one day
There's this saying in my country "if you haven't eaten rice today then you don't eat a proper meal"
Always make double the portion so you can make banger egg fried rice next day.
Not Asian, but rice is an everyday in my culture as well (Brazilian). I don't trade it for any pasta, quinoa, couscous, anything. And I mean the white rice. I am not a fan of any of the other rices (but I do eat them for health reasons).
My people
Nachos
This is the response from both the 16 year old and 47 year old me.
Pizza
Pasta and tomato sauce. In fact I used to as a student.
I could definitely eat a good homemade spaghetti 🍝 every day.
Ramen noodles I'm ashamed to admit
What are you ashamed of? A good bowl of ramen is the best thing there is!
Big difference between say American "Top Ramen" and an average Japanese ramen shop. I absolutely could eat from a ramen shop every day, but a Cup o' Noodles or Top Ramen every day drags me back to college days.
[удалено]
I know what you mean, but those are Japanese companies.
That's like being ashamed of spaghetti. There was a great ramen spot near my old work I used to go to once a week and I miss it
Just bought some for dinner tonight. Ramen rules.
Why are you ashamed? I make Ramen at least once a week. Different ingredients, but always delicious
Pasta. I know most people think of all pasta as tasting the same but for me spaghetti is a completely different meal than penne or orzos. It also helps I’m Italian.
You're right!!
Ofcourse they are. Are you telling me there's people who think rigatoni is the same as farfalle? No,no,no. I'm not Italian, but that's blasphemy
Burgers. There is so many variations that I could easily switch between different tastes and live a happy, beautiful and obese life
My favorite variation that I somehow only recently discovered is a burger with a fried egg. Yummy.
Eggs. Wonderful with or without meat, potatoes and there are enough ways to prepare them to keep me from getting bored.
sunny side up eggs + rice is one of the greatest combos of all time, you can combine it with literally any meat or vegetable.
Such a cool story. Thanks for sharing! Must be tough times to remember though, but you’ve made , hero!
I liiiikkeee eeggggssss
I get lil painful eczema patches if I eat eggs every day, it's so weird. But I can eat 2-3 a week just fine. Human bodies are dumb lol. Otherwise I'd totally eat eggs for breakfast every day, it's so easy! And endless flavor options. With meat? On toast? Leftover friend rice?? It's perfect.
Combination fried rice 🤌🏾
Yes - so many varieties.
Biryani
Visited a buddy of mine in Hyderabad and he took me on a tour of all his favorite biryani spots. It was an incredible culinary journey...I could eat there forever and not get bored.
I could definitely eat a biryani every day, but I couldn't eat the *same* biryani every day. I've tried lol
Popcorn if I’m allowed to season it differently sometimes lol
When I ran out of money at the end of one semester in university the free popcorn machine is how I survived for a week. I could do it again easily if I need to.
Döner Kebab, with Feta, bit spicy
This is me. I did a rough calculation that I have eaten 250-300 Döner over a 3-year period in Germany. Unfortunately feta was always charged extra, but it was so worth it. Ahh yes, the old tomato plant trick..,
Honestly, they were like my babies! Cheese
Cheeeeese Grommit!
Tacos

Ice cream
I've been eating ice cream daily for a month or so now and gained nearly ten pounds. I should stop this habit but it is so satisfying to have a big bowl before bed.
I fuck with ice cream so hard. I go thru waves, but it's in my house always
Lasagne
Tacos, apple crisp, watermelon
Peanut butter
Had PB&J for lunch for about two years solid while saving for a house back in my 20s. Still my favorite sandwich!
I feel so bad for kids that can't have peanut butter at their schools. I would have starved.

To have a medium rare ribeye waiting for me at the end of each day.. life would be good.
Tortellini, that shit is immaculate.
Eggs.
Sushi
Hamburgers
Homestyle, I've run my course on fast food burgers.
I'll do you one better and throw some cheese on that burger!
Banana. I have one every morning.
I used to eat 3 bananas every day until I suddenly turned allergic. I miss bananas so much!
Bananas, like avocados, are high in histamines. People can develop reactions later in life due to exposure for several reasons, such as pollen allergies, latex allergies, etc…so you kinda screw yourself over if you eat a ton of them sadly.
Honestly, orange chicken, and steamed rice
Japanese curry.
Tamales
Eggs! I literally have eggs everyday for breakfast. - Scrambled. - Sunny side up. - Boiled. - Eggs with tomatoes. - Egg sandwich.
For me its cheesecake
Grilled cheese sandwich

Pizza
Pastas 🤤
Cheese
Margherita Pizza - Naples
Cheese
Chicken wings. So many ways to prepare them and so many flavor options.
This is going to be controversial. But for me, Sushi. When I take a roll and dip into soy sauce with wasabi in it, it tastes like ambrosia to me.
Pickles
Shrimp
This. Could happily eat them for every meal every day
Any type of wrap! Burrito is my favourite 🤤🌯
