The 2.0 Diesel or 2.0 Petrol. Either is fine as long as you change the oil every 5000 miles. This generation had two of the best engine types tbh and at this point in time they had been refined to near perfection.
I have 40 tfsi (2 litre). Amazing engine, quick when you want it to be equally fuel efficient especially on long motorway drives 🐐. It’s also ULEZ compliant if ur in the UK🙄
The 1.2 and 1.4 tfsi between 2015 and 2017 are very reliable. The ones with timing belt instead of chain. I would not go with diesel. Flywheel and EGR issues.
When in doubt, go with diesel. Lol
i mean, they are pretty fuel efficient which is pretty good
EA888 - one of the greatest engines ever built. There's a reason VAG uses it in so many models.

Just for the 2.0 petrol engine, I will check if engine is version 3 because excessive oil consumption in version 1.
Excessive oil was 8P issues
1.4 TFSI COD engine is a peach !
+1. 241k km and no oil consumption!
