What kind of conveyancer uses cheques anymore??? Get a different conveyancer who uses pexa.

the one I used. I guess for more security. Either way I am stuck with them. They will only carry a check into a branch and not do anything online. edit: pexa is not in tassie. paper settlements only.

I think they cant deposit a bank check in Hobart .. no branch.

Bank SA use Bank@Post (as does nearly every bank in Australia), the conveyancer can walk the bank cheque to a post office and deposit it instead. Edit: https://auspost.com.au/money-insurance/banking-and-paying-bills/bank-at-post

Thanks will see if they can do that. I do not see why not.

Check whether the bank you choose will allow deposits direct to HISAs. Some banks won't allow this and require deposits (and withdrawals) to be processed via the related transaction account. Else, arrange for a trusted relative/friend to have access to your bank accounts and they can sort this out while you are away.

yeah conveyancer wont even use auspost saying it is “risky” so now asking if I can get the settlement check sent by post to my dad who can walk it into a bank branch and deal with it. Its all a bit ridiculous anz close branches and make app access only products but everything has low limits so your money is roach hotel checks in and cannot check out
